This pub is the real deal! If you are looking for the best pint of Guinness in Dublin. And friendly folks all around this is the place. But I have another reason I love John Fallons. I got into town and long story short my host and I couldn’t make contact due to my faulty phone. I didn’t know what I was going to do. So I looked for the first pub I came to and these guys took care of me. They let me borrow the bar phone. And I made contact with my host. All worked out from there. Thank you Jerry for helping a traveler in a time of need. Go to John Fallons! You won’t be disappointed!

LOVE this pub. A dinky little slice of history with a savage atmosphere and as many people have said before, one of the best pints of Guinness you’re likely to get anywhere in the city. I love the fact that it’s a bit like a worn down penny — you can see or imagine the stories the walls hold in on the old wallpaper or creaky floor boards and comfy seats. It’s got such a charm to it in fact that it could easily fall into the tourist trap type thing — they’d lap it up — yet it doesn’t. It’s got that perfect mix of localers and visitors. I can’t wait to come back again and try their fabled cheese toasty.

An small but fine pub near to St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Just for pints and crisps. Good Guinness, no music at all what makes easier meeting friends and catch up.

My dad and two brothers came from California and these guys welcomed us with open arms! We heard from the locals they poured the best pint of Guinness, so we went! It became our home bar, would recommend this spot to anyone! Dave, one of the night bartender is a great guy! HIGHLYRECOMMEND!

Great locals bar near St Patrick’s Cathedral, I would say Fallons hasn’t changed much over the years. It reminds me of pubs as a kid, probably its the pungent smell off urine from the toilets! Before coming here I was promised the best Guiness in Dublin; unfortunetly, the search continues for me. Pop in here if you want a pint and chat with mates in a relaxed environment, try and get the snug ;-)

Fine Irish Pub. Stopped in after St. Patrick’s church service to get warm. Met with friendly bartender and customers. It appears to be all locals. No food other than bags of crisps.

Very nice pub with a good vibe and decent normal clientele. It is a place for a drink and a conversation. Television will be on sometimes usually only for sport and is turned off afterwards. They have bottled stout from fridge or shelf so I am happy. Toasted sambos and crisps etc. are all good. On one occasion I had an odd and unfriendly encounter with one of the barmen who doesn’t seem to like people who are not part of the furniture. The other staff are lovely and friendly so I have not let it stop me going there. I live locally so if I am going for a beer this is where I would go.

Famed for it’s Guinness — which of course this accolade is well deserved. Lovely spot for a few quiet pints. Authentic ‘Old Man’ pub. Toasted sambos with real Coleman’s mustard — outstanding!!! High stool or in the snug, your on to a winner.

Best pint of Guinness for miles around. And a decent bit cheaper than than other places in the city. Always a great atmosphere here too. Pop in for one, you’ll stay for more.

This is a comfortable and cozy neighborhood pub that serves one of the best pints of Guinness. It’s small; but, it has a good feel about it. The interesting and old décor and the long bar draw you in from the get-go… It’s off the beaten path and that’s what makes it even more inviting.

This is a deadly little boozer. Real old Dublin kinda bar in the Coombe. They sell lots of different crisps. Most importantly they sell actual pub crisps. King if I remember correctly. The Guinness here is immense. It’s a shame that this city serves up some crappy Guinness. It’s like going to Japan and getting bad sushi. Fallons appears to be an exception to this unfortunate reality. This pub gets very full on a Friday night so I would suggest getting there early to grab a seat. The crowd is very mixed which is nice but anytime I see 20 something year old hipsters with mustaches and cardigans I want to punch them in the face. So I have to make sure to not sit near any of them. The bar does not appear to have any heating system. So it can be FREEZING or if you are sitting under the old school outdoor heat which is indoors then you will be burnt unless you wear sunblock. They sell gluten free beer which is great for the hipsters/assh0les and even better for the customers who are genuinely allergic to gluten. My only gripe is that the place does tend to get so busy that it can be very difficult to navigate from your seat, to the door, to the toilet and to the bar to order a drink. Also I don’t think they have a card machine. But go for the Guinness and the pub crisps and avoid anyone under 40 who is sporting a mustache.

I’m a bit surprised at myself for not having been to this place before. Great pub. It has a long bar-top that gives it a saloon feel to it. Some very quirky decorations but at it’s heart it is a very old fashioned styled pub. Great mix of people too which I love in pubs, young folks on first dates to middle aged men having a quiet pint at the bar to people like us who were drinking Guinness like it was going out of fashion… Well summer is coming I can’t be drinking it then so we are just having a long goodbye.

great local pub if you live close by st. patrick’s cathedral. i really like the wall decorations, some cool antique stuff about rugby, football etc.. the staff is great too. bit small but i guess that gives it a more local feel. Lot of regular crowd. We usually go thr to watch rugby games.

Great ‘old man’ style pub just off Patrick Street. Full of characters and grotty as hell but it’s a lovely spot. Gets quite busy at the weekends but never pretentious.

It’s been a tradition among me and my friends to go here for a pint after browsing through the stalls at the monthly flea-market in the Food Co-op building. Too bad that other groups seem to have the same tradition. Fallons is a much-loved local, and a small one, so when swarms of beer-thirsty bargain-hunters hurry over to grab the few seats available, it fills up pretty quickly, and sometimes gets so packed that the party has to move over to the street. I actually shouldn’t be telling you about this place. The fight for the tables is hard enough as it is. So erase from memory. Now!

Just 5 mins walk from the busy nightlife of Wexford Street, John Fallons is a small, quiet«old man’s» pub near St Patrick’s Cathedral. It smells a bit, as some of these pubs are wont to do thanks to the smoking ban, but it has a lovely authentic atmosphere. Pints are also reasonably priced. While it wouldn’t be the place for a crowd of excitable young ‘uns to rumble in to, if you are just looking for a pleasant pint in nice surroundings with a little bit of sport on the TV, then you could do worse than this little gem.
