One of Dublin’s loveliest pubs. A little bit American dive bar, a lot pub, with a stuffed snow leopard. how can you go wrong? They did this pub up, and they didn’t do anything about the smell, which is pretty much the point. What is that smell? It’s the Kennedy’s smell.

A nice relaxed, old style pub that’s perfect for pints and a chat. Once a month they do a vinyl evening, where people bring and play their vinyl. While I’m not personally a crackle fanatic, I did appreciate the inclusive and chatty vibe it brought to the place

This quiet little tavern, despite the fact that it’s nearby the river, serves the best Guinness in Dublin. I’ve tried Stag’s Head, O’Donnoghue’s, Grogan’s, Mulligan’s, and a couple others I can’t remember right now. In fact, only the Guinness at the brewery itself can compete(I hope that doesn’t sound too touristy and only adds credibility because the Guinness here is seriously amazing.) It’s amazingly creamy and smooth. I think the perfect description is that it’s like milk.(Yes, it’s that good.) While small and dark(wait, isn’t that what defines a good Irish pub?), the ambiance is great as it’s not crowded and usually just has a couple old Irish gents enjoying a good pint. I saw zero tourists in there every time I went. Go enjoy a good pint at Kennedy’s. I do recommend going sometime after 6 where the bartender with the 70’s outfit and mustache begins serving pints.

Agreed, milk-like indeed. Note: The bartender with the 70s track jacket may pour them slightly better.

Entering this old-school, weird smelling pub on the Quays is like taking a step back in time. The only thing this place has in common with the trendier drinking venue on Westland Row is the name. The place hasn’t got a make-over for a very, very long time, and it looks like the regulars have been sitting there for decades. The outdoor smoking-room in the back has some interesting furniture too. Some might say that the pub could do with a bit of a face-lift, little paint here and there and a good clean, but I would tell those negative voices to go somewhere else! There are plenty of chick bars around, but you won’t stumble upon an institution like Kennedy’s every day.
