Went to knights barbering school on Grafton st yesterday and was brought straight over to have my hair washed(kool only ever have dry cuts) the trainee(think his name is Colm) started to cut and shape my over grown hair with the supervision of his trainer. Have to say was the best cut and style Ive gotten in a long time even got my eyebrows done. Fair play to Colm and his teacher great job left the shop really happy. Will be going back if they have me.

For a number of years, I used to get my hair cut in Hermann’s, which was on Grafton Street, over the Body Shop. And the same girl used to cut my hair every time; I didn’t know her name and she didn’t know mine, but she’d recognise me when I came in and would know immediately what I wanted, and I would say hello when we passed the odd time on Aungier Street. We had quite the little rapport going. Then, when I was getting my hair cut just before I headed off for the summer, I noticed that my friendly hairdresser was pregnant. «Oh, I suppose that after she has the baby, I shall have to find someone else to cut my hair for a while. Oh well». When I returned from my sojourn in September, not only had my hairdresser gone(as was only to be expected) but Hermann’s had turned into a barber school. This was fine, as you could still get fully trained people to cut your hair. Little by little, though, they seemed to phase out the real hairdressers and turn the place into a dedicated training school, without really advertising the fact. First they’d tell me that the barber was out for the day and that my was too long for a trainee, I’d have to come back on Thursday. I’d return. Oh no, you’re too late, I’m afraid. Frustrated, but willing myself to persevere, I returned once more. Oh no, we couldn’t possibly cut your hair today, blah blah blah… Fuck you, Knights School of Barbering, for wasting my precious time. I shall be taking my luscious locks elsewhere in future.
