Mono-syllables: It’s good, quick. and cheap food, and fun! Stop by! Now! Multi-syllablic: My wife and I were roaming around Temple Bar. Temple Bar is a section of Dublin, a reclaimed sand bar on the river Liffey, and not an actual bar. We were exploring and in search of something … to this day I do not know what we were searching for … oh yeah, a sweater. It was early and we were getting hungry, so we started to look for places to eat. Temple Bar? Someplace to eat? My god, it’s an exact match! In case you don’t know, Temple Bar has hundreds of restaurants, pubs, bars, clubs, etc. It’s a place to eat and imbibe. There are wonderful shops and department stores too. It’s an outdoor mall of sorts. We were plying the tiny lanes of Temple Bar when we came across George’s Street Arcade(a covered pedestrian road). It was drizzling(the common Irish weather in March) so we headed into the open covered arcade. About half way down we came upon Little Mac’s. It looked like nothing special. A kiosk in the center of the mall. I don’t even know why we stopped. But we did. Thank goodness. We met the proprietor, who works every day from dawn past dusk. He makes a solid quality breakfast with fresh ingredients, cooked to your taste, and delivered fast. He knows the arcade is really outside, so he servers everything hot and fast. Then you get the best host possible. He’s a wonderful story teller. A great personality that has a story or yarn to tell. I learned a lot about Dublin and it’s lore. And felt connected to Ireland’s people because of him. I felt welcomed, informed and then sated. Sláinte my friend. The best Irish breakfast with a personal touch.

i dont know if this business already exist but i haven’t found any reviews so here we go. Little Mac’s is a great little café-stall located on the Georges Street entrance of the Arcade. It really does live up to its name, the floor plan is about the size of a box of matches and sits nearly three people, at a squeeze!!!(as the whole 5ft 6 of me will agree, the best things come in small packages) «and no im not SMALL, im funsize!!» The food here may not be the healthiest nor is it the fanciest, but it is good, honest, cheap food. Its a great spot to stop for a quick bite to eat if your on the move. When i was in college, I would often come here if i was too hungover to sit through anymore lectures(passing the day sitting in cafes and rummaging through old record-shops as most students do). The owner is really nice when you get him talking. He’s a big horsey man as are most of his regulars. During the big events, such as Cheltenham etc, he would often let me in on his«SURETHINGS”(although looking back on it, I really wish he didnt). The only SURETHING was that we were going to be out of pocket at the end of it!!! He makes a mean Chicken Fillet Burger, but he couldnt predict the weather, although it was all a bit of craic! I passed by here last week and seen he was closed, i must check if he is still open for business…
