Remember Eddie Irvine’s Cocoon? I was never a fan — too much soft lighting, leather couches and beautiful people. Anyway, Cocoon is no more and now it’s Noo Bar and I was in there one Friday evening a few weeks back. It wasn’t busy but in fairness it was only about 6pm. The drink was cheap and the service was great — a waitress took care of our table and was on hand to tend to our every need. The toilets were spotless too. There’s a menu that seemed reasonable, however we didn’t eat. Another time maybe. Considering the drink is less pricey than a lot of other nearby pubs, I predict Noo Bar could be here to stay.

Who Noo? Cocoon has become Noo bar… what’s the difference? Not much by the looks of things. Because of the location and the history Noo bar will still pull the posey crowd. But in fairness to them, they’ve also started to do nice food and encourage people to sit outside in the concourse area. It’s definitely a step up from the old Cocoon.
