My first Phở experience and it was pretty phở-nomenal!(I don’t apologize for that.) The downstairs was empty when we came in but apparently seating upstairs is a thing because a few groups went up and it sounded like a real party. The wait staff was very helpful… I was obviously a beginner(may have been my slaughtering the pronunciation on the menu) so when they brought out the dishes they actually did explain what the extras were for and how it’s generally eaten, which I was abashedly grateful for! The décor is nice, dark wood and Vietnamese-looking art(though I’d not be an expert on authenticity) and although the ground floor was very quiet and mostly single people or pairs rolling through relatively quickly, the upstairs seemed busier(as mentioned). Food was delicious — only beef was that the broth was not beef broth for one of the soups, which had beef in it so we assumed it would be — turns out it was chicken broth so be sure to read the menu closely when you order or you may be disappointed. Appetizers were exquisite and the peanut sauce was particularly good! Would definitely recommend it. As for main dishes, there was a rice cake thing — can’t remember for the life of me what it was called — but we decided to take a risk and order it and it was probably the highlight of our meal.(Will update this next I go!) Definitely going to be back, and soon.

Very cozy joint. The food was fresh and the south eastern asian spices were outstanding… Delicious. The portions are generous and the prices are very good. Great value. I had a spicy soup(can’t remember the name) which was amazing, very savoury! The staff was friendly and provided great suggestions. Will definitely go back.

A somewhat hidden little gem in the mankfest that is Temple Bar. Only recently opened my friends told me about this place and we went for some food before a party we were attending. The staff are amazing. Like just great. Super friendly and accomodating. We need more staff like this in Dublin. Dublin waiting staff really suck balls sometimes. It’s great when you get genuine friendliness like this. Vietnamese food can be bland when it’s catering for a western pallet. So when I ordered my food I asked for it extra spicy. They offered to bring me some homemade chili paste so I could add the heat myself which was great. I got a mixed meat and fish noodle dish which was was offered dry or with sauce. The sauce I was told was a homemade stock they made that day. So I went with this. It was yummy. The chili paste was also yummy. So much so I ordered another portion of it. It was not too crazy hot and as a chili freak I devoured it no bother. For a Friday evening meal in Temple Bar in really lovely cosy settings for € 12 this was a steal. The beers were 4 euro I think a bottle which is also great for Temple Bar. Mostly Asian beers which I do love. Can’t wait to go back. My only concern is word will spread too much and I wont get in next time. But for the staffs sake I do hope this happens. Well deserved. These guys are great and a refreshing addition to the Temple Bar area.

Fancier décor than your mom & pop phở place, about the same menu items though. No early dinner specials. Had the phở bo tai(just one size as opposed to offering S, M, L). Came with the usual accompaniments(cilantro, bean sprouts, sliced peppers, & lime) but no Thai basil. Beef was rare when placed in front of me, good sign, noodles over cooked, broth was quite bland, no sriracha or hoisin available. The broth was warm, not hot. Service was good, drink list ok. If you are craving phở and in temple bar district AND don’t want to walk to far, then stop on in. Price is right, only € 9.50

I got the phở bo ta(half cooked beef) and the Vietnamese coffee, hot with condensed milk. Had a bit of sore throat, this helped out. I would’ve liked to have size options on the phở — it wasn’t as much food as I wanted, but I didn’t want to get some other dish when I was there for soup to help my throat. But this might never be an option in Irish Phở spots, only American, as far as I know. Service was good. The main downside was that I heard somebody coughing in the back. I don’t know if they were in the kitchen, but that’s the point, I get to wonder if someone was coughing around the broth. Never a comforting thing in an eatery.

Good Phở spot, a bit tough for vegetarians because they only use chicken or beef broth. The mixed vegetables dish that I had was okay, but a bit too greasy. Would have loved some Phở instead :-(

Very good quality phở! I ordered the half cooked beef phở and the meat came out perfect. Service is fast and attentive, and décor is nice. Décor suffers greatly if you happen to make your way downstairs to the bathroom, however. Also the hand dryer didn’t work and the toilet stall door couldn’t close all the way. Finally, the phở came in a smaller portion than I was used to, but I’m guessing that’s just a general difference between phở in America vs Europe rather than anything specific to this restaurant. All in all though, still good phở and I’d come back.

Fantastic authentic Vietnamese food in the centre of Dublin at a surprisingly good price for the location on temple bar. Don’t skip this one if you’re looking for a great place for family, friends or date dinner! Recently improved their menu and Vietnamese coffee menu. Their next target should be to give the toilets a little run over with some paint and fix up the doors and hand dryer.

Came in with girlfriend for lunch because she wasn’t feeling well and wanted some soup. We were greeted And served by a wonderful little lady. We order the regular spring rolls which were great and phở and the crispy noodle beef plate. It was all delicious. Food was great, service was great, tables were great. I thought it had beautiful décor and was very clean as well. The only thing is I would say that it was a little on the pricey side. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend.

I must say this place was quiet impressive. I expected mediocre phở since we’re in the middle of Ireland but boy was I wrong. We started with the summer rolls, so good! The peanut sauce had a kick which made it so yummy! I ordered the chicken phở. Best broth ever! I’m from California and where I live we have tons of phở places. This was honestly the best broth I’ve had. Wished they had all the sauces on the tables but not the biggest deal ever. Love it! Go here !

My first Vietnamese in Dublin so I was a tad excited. Unfortunately this excitement was unfounded… The place was dead quiet, with slightly overbearing staff. The décor left a lot to be desired as did the lighting of the place. There was an air of mustiness too. I got the lunch deal of a main and a drink for € 9.50. Your standard value. The coconut water I got was ok, it had real chunks of coconut in it but also tasted like they added sugar to it. The dish I got, garlic prawns with fried noodles just tasted like your standard Chinese. The waiter told me that the noodles would be ‘lightly fried’ but they were just completely deep fat fried noodles, very unappealing. The prawns & vegetables were covered in the gloopy sauce we’ve all come to know & hate from your average Chinese. In short: Not a place that I’ll be telling friends about or returning to.

It started raining on our visit to Dublin(so uncommon) so our group decided to try to find a soup place in the area. We come across Phở Ta and decided to give it a shot. I wasn’t expecting much because where I’m from, there’s lots of options of high-quality phở restaurants(Northern VA, USA), but I was pleasantly surprised! The staff was super friendly and the phở was phenomenal. The noodles were different than what I’m used to, they were flatter and tasted so fresh, like they might make them in house, I was in love. And the meat slices were very tender and delicious. Thank you for a wonderful meal Phở Ta!

Had my first phở there. I don’t have a comparison since it’s my first one but it tasted quite normal. Look like a vegetable soup. My Vietnamese friend told me it doesn’t taste like a real one. A bit disappointed.

I have been on a search for great phở in Ireland since I moved here. I love the freshness of Vietnamese food which I often find other food lacks. I was very happy to find this restaurant in the city centre. We started with summer rolls which I could tell were freshly made as I asked for mine with no pork, and they said no problem. The rolls were herbaceous and chewy but held together during some pretty serious dipping. The peanut sauce was buttery and a little spicy and contrasted nicely with the crispness of the summer rolls. After summer rolls we moved onto phở, the real test of a Vietnamese restaurant. I got prawns in chicken broth and it was delicious. It was piping hot, served with a lovely mix of vegetables and noodles, with a selection of traditional sauces to make it spicier if you wished. It was one of those foods that just tastes healthy and nourishing and you can feel the stress leaving your body as you eat it. Next time I have a cold, I will be demanding my boyfriend bring me this soup. In my opinion, it was better than other phở I have gotten in Dublin. Something to note: They have an option with chicken broth for those who don’t eat beef and an option for well cooked beef for people who find normal phở a bit too rare. I am already planning my return trip. Only area for improvement: I wish they delivered so that I could have it more often.

I went to Vietnam for three weeks last February and became instantly Phở Bo addicted. Since then I’ve tried to find the Vietnamese restaurants which will provide me the same eating rapture than the street food in Hanoi or Saigon. Unfortunately Phở Ta is definitely not one of them. The fresh spring rolls were very bland with only shrimp, sliced pork, rice noodles and chopped salad but without any mint, Thai basil, cilantro, cucumber or bean sprouts… A sacrilege to the most basic Vietnamese cuisine rules. The main dish was a Phở Bo which as the rolls lack fresh herbs and way too much noodles. Beef slices were scarce and the broth tasteless… It may be cheap but noble and tasty ingredients are missing. First time last time.

Very good food, and very reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and happy to help with the food choices or just chat. Nothing makes a place more authentic than have people from the actual country. Would definitely suggest you come on an empty stomach as the portions are reasonably large and very filling. Will definitely come back again.

Vietnamese food is definitely catching on in Dublin and for a very good reason… this Asian cuisine involves a lot of fresh vegetables, herbs and marinated meat which is very flavoursome but doesn’t end up on your hips. Also you don’t tend to feel bloated after a big meal which is great for a meal pre-night out! Location is bang on in Temple Bar but in a quiet unassuming street, staff were Vietnamese too so it helps add to the authenticity. Prices are fantastic — nothing over € 10! Their house wines are very reasonably priced and quite quaffable. Dishes are standard Vietnamese fare but done very nicely, authentic and delicious but no frills. You definitely come here for the food, not the experience! They have this massive TV on the second floor playing some sort of Asian style musical which is very distracting… If you are the kind of diner who likes fusion Asian food with rainbow coloured fish piled on flower shaped rice and vegetables in 45 degree angles, I’m not sure this is the place for you.

I was looking for a good cozy food place for a surprise birthday dinner for my husband and thought of trying a different cuisine in Dublin. The place seemed to be new(they don’t have a webpage yet just Facebook page) but it looked promising and I am glad we went here. Its a quiet, cozy place with 2 floors and a warm ambiance. Main highlights: –BYOB, when I called to reserve, I asked about BYOB — they said YES with a 4 Euro corkage fee. Reasonable enough! –Pretty good food at reasonable prices when compared with other restaurants in Dublin(The most expensive main course is for 9.5 Euros) –The main course portions are of great size, bring an appetite — Service, the staff was always smiling and attentive — Food/Menu, their menu is great; there are photos of each dish with a description of the ingredients. Impressive! We ordered summer roles with peanut sauce(the rice rolls were very fresh and the sauce was so yummy– I could just eat that!), prawn cake was good too. Chicken noodle soup was decent with lots of veggies but could be a bit bland for some people(May be we should have opted for another main instead). My sautéed rice noodles with veggies turned out to be pretty good choice. For dessert, we tried typical Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk — a bit strong but an excellent taste none the less! They have been open for just about 9 weeks and it’s a good option in Temple bar if you are looking to try different food. We would love to go back and try more varieties :-)

My ‘best dream’ for food in Dublin continues to grow! I LOVEFOOD. But not just any food– GOODFOOD. Dublin has a lot to offer for all types of meals, and when in The City Centre you are even more spoiled for choice! Phở is not so easy to find, but the popularity is growing and the competition for who serves it up the best is rising. Phở Ta, I do believe you’re serving the best and I will be back. I think anyone reading this should pay them a visit, too. STAR1FORACCESSIBILITY: This gem is located in Temple Bar and has been open a short 7 weeks. The location is accessible from several bus routes, luas stops, or a nice walk through town. There is not an area for parking, so if you are driving I’d suggest using a car park. STAR2FORPRESENTATION: The restaurant is beautiful inside and out. The space is subtle but eye catching from the outside with large glass windows and blue lighting. From the inside, the space is clean and well looked after; open and inviting– not cluttered yet well decorated– and cozy. The space works well for groups, families, dates, or solo lunches and dinners. STAR3FOREMPLOYEEEXCELLENCE: From the moment you enter, and throughout your visit the employees at Phở Ta will make sure your experience at their restaurant is just what you like. They are friendly, helpful and accommodating. If you want to chat about the different types of food and ingredients used for the food here, then you can talk away. If you prefer a more intimate time with your group or date, but need your drinks looked after and questions answered quickly– that’s not a problem. I was more than impressed with the efficiency and courtesy of everyone at Phở Ta. STAR4FORQUALITY: The freshness of food and care for making each meal to order is key for Vietnamese food. The menu has photos and descriptions of all the food in English(this helps as the menu could be confusing otherwise).I was impressed by many of the dishes, but could not resist ordering the summer rolls(starter) and phở tom main dish) as part of the dinner special for 14.95. The prices are fair for the types of food I ordered and consistent with other prices I’ve paid in other places. I’d also like to add that the prices are better than some other places I’ve been to as well. ;) The rice noodles are made fresh daily and I could tell! Each bite was delicious! The king prawns in both the summer rolls and Phở Tom were gorgeous and all the flavours complimented one another. STAR5FOROVERALLEXPERIENCE: When you leave a restaurant satisfied from every possible angle and already planning your next trip back, then I’d say they’ve done their job well. Thank you, Phở Ta!
