I have only ever come here for my morning coffee but the coffee is so so good, the latte art is pretty fun too. It is really nice to sit in here in the mornings and read the paper as it is quite and gets really good sunlight and is a great people watching spot. The pastries are sinfully good too! A perfect breakfast treat and spot.

Expert service, extremely friendly staff. The menu changes frequently, making it fun to go back. Every dish I’ve had there has been very tasty and artfully plated. Their pulled pork beignets(more like croquettes) were excellent. The grilled lobster was simple, perfectly cooked and delicious. I highly recommend it.

I met a few friends a Pichet on Sunday for a pre-movie brunch. To start we ordered a few lattes and a pitcher of Bloody Marys. Both were served in pretty glasses and tasted quite nice. At first sip we thought they MUST have forgotten the vodka but part-way through glass two we were proven wrong! After a while our mains came out and everything was beautifully presented. I had the rump steak with poached eggs and duck fat potatoes. The steak had a lovely rub on the outside and was perfectly pink on the inside. It was really delicious and went so well with the potatoes and egg. My friends had a variety of dishes from the fried chicken, to the green asparagus, and the poached eggs. Everyone seemed to enjoy their dishes but the friend chicken looked especially delicious. We had ordered the brioche French toast to share at the end but by the time we got through our food, we were really full and as luck would have it, they forgot to bring it to our table any way. Pichet isn’t the speediest place for brunch but the food was excellent and they have several mains at the € 10 — € 12 mark. If you don’t mind spending a tiny bit more though I would highly recommend the rump steak. Will return!

We came here for late lunch on a Saturday, so availed of their set lunch menu(which, incidentally, is identical to their pre-theatre menu). At € 20 for 2 courses, it’s a solid value. Between us, we tried the pea soup with goat’s cheese and smoked haddock beignets to start. The soup was delicious — the goat’s cheese was a nice tangy creamy touch against the sweetness of the peas. The smoked haddock beignets were also fine. They were essentially potato and haddock cakes/croquettes… I’m not sure I got the«beignet» reference, as a beignet is more of a doughnut and there was nothing resembling that. For our mains, we had the salmon with fennel risotto and the chicken pie. Both dishes were quite good, but I thought the salmon was a touch underdone in the centre as it was completely translucent. I would have sent it back, but I hate overcooked salmon and didn’t want to risk that in having them throw it back into the oven so just ate around it. The roasted fennel in the risotto was really nice, though. The service could have been warmer and the place had a very touristy vibe when we were there. I liked my meal enough to try them again for dinner to see if they can blow me away next time.

Wow…

We decided to try Pichet as part of Dine in Dublin. The service was a little strange to start off with. The menu was different to the one advertised which I was disappointed by as the desserts didn’t sound as appetising, the menu on the night was the same as their standard early bird. When I ordered, the waitress asked me which menu I was ordering from because the desserts are different, I looked down at them and replied«but they are the same?», she replied«yes.», I said«what?», she said nothing. Weird. Anyway, I went for the artichoke soup, which was really amazing, pretty much all the stars are just for the soup. Followed by the chicken with black pudding, the pudding tasted underdone, the chicken was nice and tender but the dish was kind of dull and not filling enough for a main, you have to order a side with it. For dessert I went for yogurt parfait with rhubarb sorbet which was tart and refreshing. My fellow diners also enjoyed their meals, although one ordered a glass of Rioja and left it because it was cheap/bad wine. There was also a group of lads in from the rugby who had had a bit to drink and had to get up from the table every five seconds, the restaurant is not well laid out for this constant traffic and the backs of our seats were bumped fairly often, the group was also pretty noisy, with singing and shouting, I don’t think it was really appropriate and the staff could have asked them to keep it down. Overall not the best value for money but good standard of food, service is hit and miss and the atmosphere on the night wasn’t for me.

Now I know why people love this place. Simple food done incredibly well with lots of depth. I went in for lunch and service was quick and efficient. I ordered just a main of the chicken with a side of the rocket salad. The chicken was cooked to perfection. Not overdone, tender and full of flavor. A little under seasoned for my taste but the garnishes made up for that. It came with this scallion garnish that was just full of well flavor. It gave the chicken a depth I didn’t know! The salad was fresh and loads Of parm grated on. It was such a perfect meal I can’t fault it. I can’t wait to go back for a proper dinner!

Been threatening to check out Pichet for many moons now and so glad I did. It was Saturday evening and we had no booking. That didn’t matter to the staff however and even though they only had 2 tables left(which we guessed were already booked for later) they smiled, pretended it wasn’t an issue and led us to our table. That wasn’t the best thing about the place though, it was the food. It was pretty much perfection. Everything was faultless and melt in the mouth. Items that wouldn’t normally excite for mains(chicken and salmon) had us raving about them. I loved it. Portions were not huge however. This mistakenly led us into blind panic and we ate the full contents of our(very large) bread basket before the mains came out. Don’t do the same as us though, there is absolutely no need. And as my Mammy would say… you’ll ruin your dinner.

«Sometimes trip advisor gets it wrong» Anyone complaining about food here must be out if there mind. Food was Michelin star standard. Staff efficient snd Nick was there and while not a beaming light he runs an excellent establishment. We will be back. Well done.

If there was 3 and a half star I would give that but feel like my dinner did not warrant a 4 star. I started with the crispy hens egg which was my favourite part of my meal. Served with broccoli and almonds it is a winner. My main I could not say the same about– chicken and butternut squash risotto. Plain breast of chicken and a risotto that lacked flavour this was very disappointing. It also looked really unappetising. Thankfully the dessert ended the meal on a better note. I chose the snickers dessert; peanut butter mousse, honeycomb pieces and chocolate sorbet. The staff in pichet could not have been nicer. Attentive without being pushy. There’s a buzzy atmosphere and the décor is sophisticated so would be a good place for a special occasion. Really want to like the restaurant but feel like they need to improve their food. Good but no wow factor.

Fantastic food and service that was second to none. I did have a few small quibbles… One issue was with the lighting(way too bright) and music(non-existent) which ruined any hope of a cool/relaxed ambiance that I’d usually attribute to a chic French bistro… Food wise: I had the crispy hen egg for starter which was delicious, paired with the montepulciano d’abruzzio. Followed up with the Duck which was a little bland and was pretty small in comparison to the steaks my dining partners had. Sadly this meant I was left sitting idle waiting for the rest of the gang to finish their steaks. Not ideal. Dessert was amazing — «snickers» of peanut butter parfait and chocolate sorbet. I can’t recommend this enough. Also bottle of wine #2 had arrived by now. I’d recommend it and really hope that«3 stars» isn’t viewed as harsh — it just wasn’t the absolute best food I’ve ever had in Dublin but it was still pretty awesome.

Hoooooley moley, the food in this restaurant is amazing. It was my first time ever trying Gnocchi and sacre bleu it was sensationale, I just feel like all other gnocchis are going to be a disappointment in comparison now though. The staff here are so attentive, the food is amazing and the general ambience is great for a big group dinner! Allow me to recommend the gnocchi with the ratatouille, and the petit fours for dessert -*Mwah* sublime.

I missed this review in my reviews of Ireland. This is a cool little shop right in the heart of Dublin. We actually saw a show about it on the morning TV. That is why I wanted to try it. Since we were staying right here in town we thought that we would. We had seen them putting the whole thing together on the show. The owner seemed highly strung, maybe because, that makes better TV. But, we found it pretty, calm, and relaxing. It seemed nice in here and it was very clean. I got a nice cuppa hot Tea, my daughter a drink. The bread they brought out before the main meal was wonderful. It had nuts in it even. The staff was good. Very quick, yet not rushed. I had a lovely soup, Split Pea, it was delicious. I really liked my Lamb, and I was a bit scared to get it as my last Lamb dish at the Bleeding horse was horrible! But, this one was cooked properly, and was delish as well. Gravy was really nice. My only thing was it seemed very high priced. Which I guess is the way it is in this area. It is worth a visit, I would go back any time.

Everything was delicious! Everyone loved their food; the pork, the chicken, and the lamb(?). My chicken was full of flavor, wonderful portions and cooked perfectly! The wine was good we got a red and a white as well as several glasses of prosecco. Dessert was also phenomenal we got the cheesecake, the chocolate cake, and the strawberries. It was very pricey but probably worth it since the food was so good. I was not sold on the ambiance, but the staff were friendly and checked on us often but not to often.

The most amazing dinning experience, for one, in Dublin I’ve ever had. I walked in without a reservation and they were very accommodating. I was sat at the bar by a lovely waitress that knew the menu well and was able to recommend the perfect entrée for me. She also recommended a beautiful wine to compliment my meal. The pleasant gentlemen behind the bar and host made my dinning experience one to stand above the rest, setting a new standard for Dublin restaurants. The monk fish, curried mussels, roasted cauliflower, grilled courgettes, mint was absolutely delectable. See the photo. Overall the best dinning experience in Dublin I have had alone. Looking forward to the next time.

There doesn’t seem to be much new to write about Pichet — most previous reviewers seem to have hit the nail on the head with it, but throw my hat in the ring I shall! Decided to avail of the Early Bird menu yesterday to celebrate my mother’s birthday, and we had a truly lovely evening. You can get two courses for € 22, or three for € 27, so if you want to experience the quality of this restaurant without the usual price tag, get in there early! I had the pea and fennel soup to start which was creamy and flavoursome, then the lamb and mash with tomato and and capers for main — the lamb was succulent and not too fatty, literally melted in my mouth, and the cookies and cream for desert — vanilla icecream with macaroon-like cookies surrounding a delicate vanilla mousse. The food was truly spectacular. I would give this place a 4.5 stars if I could, however as I can’t, and I’m not comfortable with awarding a 5 star rating, I shall go with 4. The main reason for this would be the service which wasn’t quite on point. Despite being very lovely, the staff were a little distant and not as warm as you would like. Also, we never received any bread on the table, and the coffee came out after the desert instead of with it as requested. Minor details, but details all the same!

Probably the best place we found in Dublin. Unfortunately, we stumbled upon this place with only 2 days left in our trip but we ate her twice. That should indicate how much we liked it. The café is bright and open and the breakfast menu is simple. You order at the counter, pay and then your food shows up. My first time, fried eggs and toast. These were probably the most delicious eggs I’ve had in a long time. The toast was focaccia and it was served with a small ramekin of a deliciously sweet tomato sauce. I wish I had more of it because I couldn’t stop eating it. Along with my double espresso, this breakfast was nearly perfect. My second time back, a mushroom and cheese omelette. The omelette was perfectly cooked and for the rest of the dish, see the previous paragraph. This place is a true gem and I want one in the US.

I love this place. After having waited months to try it we finally made it here. I was not disappointed at all. The starter of suckling pig croquette was just superb and delicate. The Clare organic salmon main was the best salmon I have had in a restaurant in a long time. It was full of delicate flavours and cooked to perfection. The dessert of Chocolate mousse cannelloni with banana and salted caramel ice cream was probably the best dessert I have had in Dublin with all my favorite ingredients in one plate. I licked my plate clean… uncouth I know, but I didn’t care ;-)) Coffee was great and the wine list was small but excellent. There were a number of reasonably priced wines on the menu. The service was prompt but not rushed. The waitress was friendly and offered her opinion on the choices we made. She also regularly checked up on us to see if everything was ok and topping up glasses etc. Good service is an art and this place does it well. I must admit I preferred this place to Patrick Gibauld. The prices were reasonable and that means I will come back here again and again. Glad we finally made it here… it was well worth the wait :-))
