I went here for an Executive dinner, and I would say great location and good food. I ordered raviolo filled with pecorino, a good steak with chips and mashed potatoes and a delicious apple tarte tatin. Decent red wine. Staff was friendly and welcoming. In conclusion, good restaurant if you look for a fancy place and a gourmet dinner.

My evening at Restaurant 41 was a tribute to the staff. I have never enjoyed a meal out more, ever! Every moment and morsel were crammed full of taste and delight!

Came here with 3 other friends for lunch. All of us had their 3 course meal for € 35. It was such a lovely restaurant, very cozy and warmth feeling. I must start with the brown bread and sour dough. ITISSOGOOD. It’s the little things like these make the restaurant even better. The brown bread is the best I’ve tasted in a long while. We had the scallop with chicken and crab for starters. I was rather disappointed with the scallops as there was only 1 miserable piece cut into half. Though the chicken was cooked perfectly and was very tender. The lettuce was really crunchy and fresh. Hard to believe, but it’s the best lettuce I have had. The unique tastiness to it was simply refreshing. I love the plating of the crabs. It was really fresh and with the biscuit on top added that tinge of texture that made the whole dish whole. We had the John Dory which was amazingly fresh and the mushroom below the fish was really really cooked well. Wasn’t too impressed with the water prawns on top of it, but it was alright The best dish I felt was the slow cooked lamb which was battered and deep fried. That crunchy texture that bites into a soft slow cooked lamb was simply out of this world. The only problem I had was that I felt that they put the lamb too early on the sauce(?) that the bottom of the lamb was really soggy. But it was perfect plating too. Desserts were meh. Nothing fantastic but was a good way to end a good lunch. Would definitely come back here again. But I felt it was also a little pricey, so I’ll come back here again when I feel I have money to splurge.

We booked in for the pre-theatre, priced at € 38.50 for 3 courses with tea /coffee and running from 5.30 –6.30 on a Saturday. It’s a beautiful building and entering it, the interior is equally as stunning. The dining rooms on the top and middle floor are spacious, light filled and elegant. Starters of Merinda Tomatoes, Mozzarella, Watermelon, Aged Balsamic & Roast Scallops with Truffled Garden Onion and Coral Bisque were delicious, in particular the pairing of fresh watermelon with the mozzarella. An new season Asparagus trio with mushroom sauce was light and something absolutely unique for me and the slow cooked Lamb with aubergine was perfectly cooked and presented. Contrasting choices for dessert of a chocolate fondant with blood orange sorbet and a cheese plate with crackers were fabulous in equal measure. We finished up with two creamy cappuccinos and some coconut macarons… the perfect end to an absolutely faultless meal. I can’t recommend Restaurant 41 more highly for a special meal, the staff were efficient and friendly, the food and surroundings just gorgeous and the pre-theatre menu is amazing value for money.

Well, I was very lucky to be invited to Dinner in this amazing establishment! From arrival to the moment I left I was treated like I «belonged»…although I did feel like a stow-away! We had dinner in a private room upstairs, it was beautifully decorated and the food was amazing! We had a 7 course taster menu… they were perfectly portioned and I selected a menu of food I’d never tasted before. It was all amazing, the flavours and textures. I had the Foie Gras(which when I found out what it was… the burden of guilt is only starting to lift), Haddock with pine nut salsa and orange chocolate for desert. I loved it all! Downside…is the fact that is that I know I will never be back here unless someone else brings me.

This was a complete suppose from my partner. Every year we go out for a meal to someone we love or to some amazing new place for Christmas. But to show the strength and loyalty of its clientele, that the closes we could manage to Christmas was late November. The staff and surroundings are a brilliant. Service is attentive and discreet. Cocktails are really nice, but you need to try a couple, just to make sure. We settled on the autumnal tasting menu, consisting of seven courses. There is an added extra of a wine pared to each horse, but because of the extensive sampling of the cocktail menu we decided not to push the boat out too far. Also a glass of champagne was included in the menu sauns wine option. I could go into how I loved each course, faults(very few) but I let the photos speak for themselves. Also the first though I had waking up the next morning was of this meal and that is the best review I can give it. Try this and I promise you won’t regret it.

Enjoyed a very nice business dinner here. It’s a renovated Victorian home with a lovely atmosphere. The food was exceptional and the service was top notch. Impressive place and well worth dining!

WOW, Eating in the Residence was the best experience, with the best food, that we had in Ireland. We started with cocktails in the charming garden, followed by a fabulous dinner. The atmosphere is sublime, the service perfect, and the food truly exceptional. Bravo to Chef Graham!

This is my second time to the restaurant. Their food is just amazing!!! I tried the scallops first and lamb the second time, all great! Besides the food, the decorations in the restaurant are classical and beautiful, the service there is very good. After dinner, you could sit at their backyard to watch World Cup, so much fun!!! Better than the Bar! Singer is playing guitar now, romantic atmosphere ;)

I think I could be wrong but I presume it was an old Georgian house, with a piano, old furniture and paintings at the top floor and around the big building where you can enjoy and select a wide range of cocktails and have a lovely view of Saint Stephen green, then you have a restaurant at the first floor, I was there a few years ago, and a private night club on the basement. …if you like to impress somebody and have a nice meal in a lovely place, you should go there.

My favourite spot in Dublin for a posh night out. The staff are just brilliant, it’s never jammed, the food in restaurant 41 is exceptionally good, and the wine list is properly comprehensive and not with a 5 star hotel ‘let’s screw the customers’ kind of pricing.

4.5 stars but I’ll give 5 for good service. We had the opportunity to eat dinner at Restaurant Forty-One last month with a couple we were introduced to through mutual friends. The restaurant is located inside The Residence which I believe is a members only club. Upon arriving we checked our coats and headed straight back to the courtyard garden to grab some pre-dinner drinks. I can imagine this would be a very fun spot on a summer day but it was still enjoyable even in chilly weather. After our drinks we headed upstairs to our table. I loved the separate rooms and the homey furnishings of this place. I also enjoyed the somewhat lively atmosphere as some nicer restaurants can feel stuffy. After leafing through the wine list we chose our starters. I can’t remember what the others got but I ordered the scallops and quite enjoyed them. After the starters they brought out some kind of individual tortellini samples for us to try. I thought it was a nice touch. From there we were off to main courses. I had the wild cod with veal sweet breads and my guy went with the filet of beef and turnips. I didn’t get to try his dish but he seemed to really like it(not the best of his life but very good). My cod however was wonderful. Cod is not exactly a dish I would normally choose(my go to fish is usually chilean seabass or sometimes halibut) but I’m glad I branched out. I thought the seasonings were wonderful and they had cooked it just right. I was also pleasantly surprised by the veal sweetbreads — they really added to the dish. For dessert we all shared the apple tart and pumpkin soufflé with sorbet. The pumpkin soufflé was easily my favorite and the presentation was very nice. Overall this was a very enjoyable meal. Our total bill ended up being quite large so it is not an every day sort of outing but I would definitely recommend for a nice meal out. I’m not sure how it compares to the Michelin starred restaurants in the city so I guess I’ll have to revisit once our bank account has recovered and we can check them out :)

I must say, if you wanted a very special and beautiful dining experience at a price that won’t leave you feeling hard done by then Residence might just be the perfect place to go. The food is really unbelievable. The service impeccable. Give yourself an entire evening to enjoy the experience as we went for tasting menu both times we’ve been in and it took about 3 hours each time. We left stuffed by the best food we’ve ever had. for € 75 a head excluding wine. Its not an everyday kind of place but its certainly a wonderful treat every now and again!

The food here is of very good quality — style-wise no too disimilar to Bang Café which it backs onto. You need to be a member(I’m not) or invited by a member(I was). The only drawback is that it is full of business meetings/loud drunken men, so it doesn’t have the greatest of atmospheres. The staff are excellent and in general it’s a relaxing place to spend some time. Is it worth the membership fee? I wouldn’t know about that but I’ve enjoyed myself anytime I’ve been here.

Residence Restaurant is a marvelous find on the St Stephens Green. In an area of high dining prices, reasonable prices for the quality. We were offered items not on the website menu, including prawns with Tagliatelle pasta, Asparagus, tomatoes, and chorizo sausage. Most tasty. Other interesting choices include prawns in chili sauce. Inquire in advance about dining in this members-only dining place. We were admitted and we were not members. Other entrées of beef and lamb(not over-cooked) were also enjoyed.

Although the fate of The Residence is up in the air, and it’s not as crowded as it used to be, I enjoyed it. The place is on three or four levels, all of which are tastefully decorated. We sat outside on the terrace which was lovely. I am not sure about the food as we just had drinks after dinner. I liked the attentive service, the lack of crowds, and the people. I am way too old for clubs, and was never one to fight for a seat at a busy bar. If you like to relax and chill out in a beautiful, relatively calm setting, which is also quite social and civilized, try this place. If visiting Dublin, check with your hotel about getting in. I don’t know how it works if you come in without a member. Enjoy!

The residence, man, what a place; a lovely mixture of the casual with the ‘I can’t believe we are still not in the tiger boom years’… Of course, you have to have money in your pocket and the look and feel of someone who belongs, if the doorman sniffs even a faint niff of poverty you will be asked for your membership card… I totally didn’t have one of those. Happily I didn’t need one, t’was a company night out and as a result I got to experience the best of what The Residence has to offer without revealing my pauper credentials. The bar downstairs has a truly great selection of Whisky — I went for the Woodford reserve, tremendous. We had booked a private dining room for 30 of us and from the Foie gras to the beef, right through to the cheese the meal was nothing less than spectacular, likewise the service. There was a live band playing in the open courtyard downstairs and with the warm summer breeze running through what is left of my hair it all made for a very pleasant eve. Just as I was leaving a tall leggy good-looking blond stopped me and asked «Hi, aren’t you that guy who has just written his 500th review on ; Why yes, yes I am, thank you for noticing Bjorn(see what I did there?)

Residence is one of Dublin’s newest exclusive clubs although it’s been on the go a few years now. It’s actually beautifully decorated and spans a few floors, all of which are quite stunning visually. I’ve been to a few parties/bashes here and one that stands out in my mind was a do that was mainly held in the garden section where the vodka cocktails were free flowing for the night! It was brilliant and not just because of the booze, honestly! It was a perfect venue and as it was a warm summer evening that made it even better. I’ve also been in here for coffee in the day time and it’s been just as lovely. A lot of people say that the recession will wipe out the likes of Residence, but hopefully that won’t be the case.

Sorry — Members Only — so don’t get too excited about going for a visit here. I am not a member but we did pop in for a drink(we were allowed in just this once) so we had an opportunity to check it out. I had heard about Residence as the new, latest hot spot for trendy types and for Dublin elite. It’s in a beautiful old building on St. Stephen’s Green and it’s very nicely done inside. It’s a project of the Stokes brothers who are also responsible for Bang Café. They call it a «modern club» and it includes a lounge, restaurant, bar, meeting facilities and a gorgeous patio area. All of these facilities are available to members but for a price. I expected somewhere stuffy and pretentious but there was a match on in the bar and people sitting around the lounge having a bite of food. It was much more laid back than I imagined. I think they’re trying to cultivate a place where people can go that’s like home but in the city. Only if you’re extremely cool and extremely loaded though.
