3 stars for now but this may change in due course. Stopped in here to watch on if the RWC quarter finals on Saturday. From the outside it looks like a great place to watch sport. Jesus were we wrong! There was only a handful of people in! Like the Monday night locals but it was a Saturday night packed with sport! I’ll give it another chance just I case it was an «off» night. TBH, the Guinness was top quality, staff friendly too.

Did I miss something… Came by here on a Saturday night expecting a full house and a lively pub as all the reviews suggest but man, this place was dead… Like 9 – 10 people max. even with a rugby Qtr final on the TV the atmosphere was so flat! It’s so far away from what I was expecting from the other reviewers plus had drive by here a few times and the place always came across as the place to be around this area. Ok, prices were great… Like a pint of Guinness plus G&T and got change from € 10 which is unheard of! I’ll definitely give this place another shot, maybe specifically for a big sport event and happy to update review should u be proved wrong :-)

It is a lovely place in one of the most beautiful areas of Dublin, we went there while Ireland Rugby National team was playing the World Cup and the asmotphere was very vibrating. The Guinness and the good service was the best of this time at Ryan’s Beggar’s Bush.

Great venue and great pub with very good prices. Good to watch matches or just to sit in the lounge or outside. The area is vey nice too, very close to the Grand Canal. If the TV is not running very quite, good place to have a chat with friends. Last time I was on Sunday, watching the rugby, but anyway it wasn’t crowed. I have been there for Friday pint after work and it still not to busy. I would recommend you this place

Beggars Bush is simply an amazing local Dublin pub. Wonderful, warm atmosphere and one of the best and cheapest pints of Guinness. It’s the kind of pub where you can order a Guinness and glass of red wine and still get change from € 10! Lovely staff too. If you like whiskey then try their own Jack Ryan’s whiskey. This place is one of our favourites.

Two pints of Tuborg for 7.30, need I say more. We sat outside in the sun and drank lovely cold beer, perfect Friday evening

This place was a blast! I was in Dublin for a week on work and stopped in a couple of times after I left the office just to grab a pint. The folks at the bar were clearly from right in the area, but they treated me just like one of their own! We watched several matches of Irish Football, a sport I’d never seen. The guys in the pub taught me everything I needed to know to follow along easily and answered every question I had. There’s a great list of beers to choose from, but the food left something to be desired. Either way a super fun place to come hang out. I’d definitely visit it again if I make it back to Dublin!

Nice spot for sitting outside on a Sunday afternoon. Not a huge selection of craft beers, but there’s a few on tap, including Kinsale Pale Ale. The inside lacks in atmosphere and décor, but maybe is different on a weekend night.
The service is just ok. Or put differently, they’re friendly to locals in an old manly way. The guy with a mustache who poured my guinness wasn’t rude, but cold and just to the point. It’s cheap, but I’d choose other places especially when I am alone. Good for locals. When I visited, there were many old men who looked like usual customers. If you want to experience an old men’s bar, good to check it out.

Beauty of a local. Savage pints of plain and always a nice relaxed atmosphere. Barmen know what they’re doing and it’s always got a special place in my heart as there’s some«family» photos on the walls.

Was here on Saturday night and noted a quite short but decent food menu is available. Maybe it has been for a while now I never noted it. Change from € 10 for 2 drinks in Dublin today is rare enough. Change from € 9 ffor two drinks is even more rare. Not in Beggar’s Bush though. They have a gas fire in the fireplace, which although it isn’t the real deal creates that cosy feeling in a cosy pub.

Best pub I visited in Dublin, hands down. Nice people and great service was never left waiting for a beer. the food outside was great after a night after tying one on. I highly recommend.

This was my local when I first moved to the big smoke… ah the memories. I remember listening to a Welsh Choral Choir one night in the bar. Good times. It seemed to have changed, but yet the same. I couldn’t really put my finger on it. It is all lovely warm wood partitions. The outside area was just as busy as inside. It’s a popular place in the summer evenings and a lot of the people were still there, even though it was dark by now. Service was good. However we only stayed for one. But it still had the same charm as twelve years ago.

This is like a party in somebody’s living room, if that somebody was seventy five and the year was 1930. It has all the old fixings and a generous selection of the white haired set, drinks priced accordingly and old black and white pictures of the nearby barracks from when they were first built. In short, all the trappings of an old man bar, because this is the genuine article!

One of the last remaining«old man» pubs left in Dublin, and I hope they never decide to renovate it like all other«old man» pubs which have withered away in the last 10 years. It’s pretty much your typical old fashioned pub, wooden furniture, occasional wooden divides and many, many small tables haven’t changed in years. Since the furniture hasn’t changed in years, I’m not sure the drinks prices have either. Beggars is one of the few places you can get 2 drinks and still have change from a € 10. You can even find Franciscan Well’s Rebel Red Ale(it’s a craft beer brewed in Cork) here, if you’re not trying their guinness. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a quiet pint after a hectic day.

Beggars Bush(alternately known as Tinkers Snatch) is an old-style Dublin pub that’s usually packed with cranky old men and tech nerds. They have a great outside patio with tables when the weather is nice, although it is generally overrun with drunken Google employees(who work nearby) on a Thursday and Friday evening. You’re pretty safe showing up on a Saturday, though, and be sure to get a toastie.

beggars can be called our local. i’ve been told it’s one of the last remaining authentic irish pubs in dublin — it still has the two separate areas with a door between the two(one is more cushy w/a fireplace and the other is more regular pub-ish) and the even further divided grumpy old men’s section from what i can tell(don’t expect to walk thru w/o feeling a little like a 3 headed alien wearing an all LED cocktail dress). it caters to a more traditional, older demographic but i never feel too unwelcome(i’m in my 30s & female). i especially love the older ladies chatting away. at the same time, it’s a popular hangout for nearby google people so you get an interesting mix going most days. they have a lot of outdoor seating so on good days you’ll see loads of people there. atmosphere and grumpy old men aside, the pints are well-poured and really affordable. i’m told they have some of the best Guinness in town and i’m inclined to agree.

They have fairly cheap pints of Guiness(and other standard Irish pub beers) and the atmosphere is really old school Dublin pub. The locals are can definitely be a bit gruff, but it is part of the place’s charm. Just don’t try and bring food into the place and expect to go there for a while :)
