This was our first meal in Dublin, jet-lagged and hungry. It was late lunchtime and the chicken ciabatta sandwich I had was delicious. That said, despite being nearly the only people there, the service was very slow and we sat for a good half hour with empty drinks and no offer of a refill.

Their website listed a number of craft beers– none were available. The bartender said they had recently been discontinued. Since I came specifically for the beers, this was extremely disappointing. Managers apology was mediocre at best. Food was tasty though an item was left off one of the orders. At least we were comped a drink for that. The wait staff person we had was not very good. Did not know that beers were discontinued. She did not come to table to check on things on regular basis, and the place was virtually empty. If beer is why you want to come here, don’t come. And my experience was poor service.

Good food, terrible service. Bar staff is friendly, wait staff is rude and slow. Didn’t get the food how we ordered it, and bad attitudes from waitresses.

Really average. Staff is nice and location is convenient for those staying at the closest hotel. But a part From that I can’t think of many reasons to come back. Fries are greasy, meat is overcooked, ambiance is nothing special.

The Gasworks in the pub adjacent to the hotel I usually stay while in Dublin. They serve a decent pint of black and the food is actually pretty good. If Guinness is not your thing, they(like a growing number of pubs in Dublin) also serve a number of local microbrews. My only real knock on the Gasworks is that it’s just a bit too clean to be a «real» Dublin pub. But, it is convenient and the service is nice.

I am staying right next door to this hotel for my Dublin trip. So this pub makes good sense. Their servers are rriendly. The food is prepared with excellence. I just wish they were easier to rewch on the phone, since they are responsible for the hotel room svc.

I went there each night during my stay in Dublin and enjoyed each one. The staff is very professional and accommodating, especially Haley. The pints of Guinness and food are worth the trip to Dublin.

It had been a long and fruitless eve at the races(2nd ever time at the dogs and continued my noteworthy not-winning streak!) but it was soon-to-be-brother-in-laws stag so a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do — in my case it meant drinking awful beer and having some fun with the lads at the track. After the racing someone mentioned a pub — I thought«lovely, I can get a decent pint», I pictured a nice cosy pub where fellows could chat amiably about tomatoes and green fly and wearing socks with sandals. We got to the Gasworks and upon opening the door you are greeted by the thump thump thump of(sadly, oh so very very sadly) a remixed/dance version of a Beatles track, many bright and moving lights, and a bar that is stocked to complement the music and lights(Heineken, Bud, Guinness and Carlsberg). This is not a happy place for the short, fat, balding and bearded, this is in fact, Hell. I had a pint of whatever and made my excuses, an experience not to be repeated in a hurry!

Given I had to be somewhere nearby not long after the Man Utd — Liverpool hate-fest today, I decided to catch the match and a bite to eat down at The Gasworks. To our disappointment, they had taken our two favourite choices off the menu! The barman couldn’t understand it either since he said they were two of the most popular choices on there. So ended with up with chicken goujons. They were good — they usually are and at € 8.50 they’re a good deal. But the service again was slow. There seemed to be plenty of staff working but they mostly seemed to be standing around watching each other do nothing. The barman that looked after us was sound though. They seem to have a couple of staff in their midst who manage to salvage the experience there — the food notwithstanding.

Love this pub, especially if you’re staying at Grand Canal Hotel… Highlights: 1. Good selection of tab/bottle beers — all ranging from 4 to 6 euros. 2. The staff is efficient and courteous. 3. The set up is decent, clean and tidy. 4. Live music Friday(and perhaps other days)? I haven’t had any food here, but I don’t see why not! This is a great joint near the grand canal area.

this place is about a 15 min walk from Dublin centre, and the temple bar area. Its a decent place, good Guinness, serves food, we had a new year in here and it was brilliant, it was not that busy, but boy do the locals who use know how to have a good time.

Decent amount of seating, Guisness, Smithwicks, Budweiser, Miller beers on tap, lots of big screens to watch the World Cup /sporting events. No complaints that I can think of, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here unless I was nearby.

I went here for lunch recently and I was not in the slightest bit impressed. It’s located right across from the Grand Canal dart stop, which is handy, and it’s quite a big pub but the food and the service was really bad. It was a Saturday afternoon and the place was quite busy — there was some kind of family function on and lots of screaming kids running around, which I know isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I saw the staff giving out to them a few times, telling them to ‘go back to their parents’ and to keep the noise down, which I thought was a bit rude and unnecessary. We only ordered soup and sandwiches, but they were pretty meagre and tasteless. I won’t be going back here!
