Popped in here for post dinner cocktails. There’s a young crowd in here but a good vibe. I like the music and layout of the place. The cocktails are really good too. Their signature ones a different and really good. The smoking jameson could do with milder chillies though #feeltheburn

Awesome great bar on Dawson St, it’s spacious but on a Fri/Sat night this place does be rammed. The food here is great plus this is also a really great pub to catch the sport, in particular a rugby match will always draw a nice crowd here, they have a big screen which you can see no matter where you sit due to the narrow long hall it is. Only downside here is the staff, they are hit and miss, at times I’ve had great service and friendly banter and then others, well it feels like you are inconveniencing them by even being in the bar never mind if they actually have to pour you drink. So a little bush up on the service and I’d be a happy camper leaving overtime.

Great place to head for drinks with friends. They organize gatherings as well, so on weekends you can find multiple parties gathering for drinks. The place is quite big and spacious, so it is great for crowds.

I quite liked the vibe here yesterday evening. I met a friend for a quiet drink(my first time) and I was impressed at the atmosphere-chilled, nice lighting, great music all evening. The staff were friendly and the cocktails were delicious-I had the Lady Sam. That was the treat. Then back to wine, a Merlot that was reasonably priced and tasty.

I went with ex colleagues and loved the place. Few serving counters to take care of a large number of people. Good service and great ambience.

My friends and I tried to get in yesterday, they were visiting from Canada and we were all in a very cheerful mood. The doorman asked us for our IDs(in a very rude way). We showed him and smiled. It took him a good minute to figure out where the birth date was, so I told my friend(in French) he should show him where it was. The door man got all worked up and asked us why we were speaking French(and could clearly see we were from another country consideting our IDs). I explained him and then told him his comment was rude and he refused to let us in. His comment was racist and we are considering pressing charges against him. Ireland is known to be a very welcoming place for tourists and immigrants and this guy was the complete opposite. We go to Sam’s bar often for work events and I will be letting people know that we should not go back, at least not until this guy’s gone.

This is the perfect place for a girl’s night out! The atmosphere is classy and relaxing and the music is always nice. Tip: Play rock, paper, scissor with the bartender to win your cocktail! Unfortunately my friends lost, but still you can try with a little bit of luck of the Irish and you could win: D Cocktails are very good and well made. Good luck: D

Tip: Ask the bar tender to play rock paper or scissors with you on a Thursday — if you win, your drink is free! This place used to be Samsara, which I do miss — we used to come here every Thursday for their € 3 delicious cocktails. You couldn’t get a better deal anywhere else in town. The décor is amazing, quite a narrow spot but goes far back. Drinks are good but expensive. Always jammed particular on a Saturday night. Some people love it, others hate it, depends what you like.

Samsara is gone and Sam’s bar has taken it’s place. The décor is beautiful, the bar is busy and drinks are good but expensive, pretty much what you expect to get from a bar located on Dawson Street.

Mid afternoon cocktails, hurrah! A dark corner of a quiet bar, fantastic cocktail and swift bar service; what could be better! Will be back!

My friend and I were about to ramble into 37 Dawson when we happened upon 36 Dawson. SAMs. We heard the music, checked out the crowd and decided to give it a go. I’m so glad we did! Beautiful girls, good looking men, great music(a mix of nineties, top 20’s, hip hop, and 80’s… It’s like they could read my mind) wait but *screeching halt* NODANCEFLOOR?! We just made anywhere our dance floor. They don’t do their signature cocktails after 10. It’s large: has a smoking area downstairs and upstairs, 4 bar areas and a nice amount of seating. I had to take off a star for no dance floor but I’ll be back! I think it may become my new go to

Newly refurbished bar and really cool vibe about the place. Good music and good seating areas aswell. Downside; € 5 cocktails are no more. Minimum € 10.50. Opted for Corona instead at standard € 5.50. Table service available and cashback at the bar! :)
