This is one of my Saturday faves, it’s perfect for lunch. The portions are just right — the Mexican street food salad is delicious. One issue I have with Stable Diet is when you enter you have to wait to be seated but then you need to order at the counter — either have proper table service or keep it casual. If you haven’t been are in the area, check this place out.

Really generous portion sizes and the food is very healthy and nutritious, and really fresh. Minus one star because they had run out of ingredients for the green smoothie when I was there for lunch but they did give me a complimentary juice instead. Very attentive staff. Will definitely be back soon!

Dilemma: You want healthy food yet also want to be really full for the day. Solution: Staple Foods I’ve been here twice and ordered the same thing both times. Usually that’s a sign that you’re being really boring but these guys have perfected the falafel & salad combo to the point that I don’t want to order anything else. The falafel is baked and slightly crumbly but comes with a good dollop of hummus drenched over it as compensation(the various ways we continue to prepare chickpeas amazes me). Then they absolutely shred their veg that comes with it giving it a really unique crunchy texture. I couldn’t get enough. This place is found in the heart of Temple Bar but don’t let that turn you off. It takes over a bar called Crowbar that they transform just enough from a normal pub to a rather stylish brunch/lunch destination. The place was a little dark but it added to the atmosphere. The guys working here are great & friendly who obviously have passion for what they do. Word has gotten around too; when I went at the weekend I was lucky to get a table for one in the middle of the day. I’m excited to see where this place goes and word on the street is that they just opened opened a new branch down by Merrion Square. That can only be a good thing.

Wow, the portions are really scary big. Lots of grated carrot, beetroot and something white(celery?)Falafel is covered all over with humus. I have this annoying feeling that something is missing in here. And honestly, after few bites you are full. That could be my lunch and dinner, and maybe breakfast tomorrow

Had lunch here. I had the bbq pulled pork sandwich. Lovely mix of asian influences such as sesame seeds. The best pulled pork sandwich in Dublin. Which is saying something as most places these days do pulled pork. Definite recommendation from me.

I’d been threatening to try this place for ages and never got the chance. Went for lunch today and wasn’t disappointed, really really good food. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and prompt service. The menu itself is small I guess but everything sounds good, we both got jerk chicken salad, it was whopper! Everything tastes fresh. Docking a star as both bacon and pulled pork were out which I thought odd at 1pm, but will add it back after my next visit I’m sure!

I was so excited about this restaurant because I had read so many good things about it here, but we were both a bit disappointed. After a tour around the Temple Bar Food Market we decided to drop by for lunch since it’s right next door, we were only tempted to eat there instead of the market because we wanted a place to sit(retrospect tip: suck it up and stick to standing and eating in the market!) Service was great, very friendly staff and quick service(though it was a very slow afternoon) love the vintage look and cozy atmosphere. A nice, locally sourced menu catering to several diets(vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, über healthy), with the option to have some variations as a salad or as a sandwich. The food… was nothing special. I love falafel and hummus and make it often at home, so I was very excited to see it on the menu(and together in one sandwich!) but I found it bland with very little flavor. The same can be said of the pulled pork sandwich. Pulled pork is, after all, the latest fad to hit the city; it’s everywhere and that sets the bar very high. It was a bit dry and also just not very«wow», we’ve had better elsewhere. The portions however are massive, I’d recommend splitting a sandwich and sharing a side or two, that would be plenty, which also makes it a good value. We had a side of roasted sweet potatoes and they were the best part of the meal, really delicious(a bit spicy). We were so stuffed we didn’t get to try their desserts. I’m always searching for healthy AND delicious food, typically food hits one mark but not the other. At least with this visit to Staple Foods, we did not find that sweet spot yet, but we will give the rest of the menu(especially the juices and desserts) a try another day.

This is a great place for a reasonable(and reasonably healthy) lunch. I came here in the afternoon and I didn’t stick around for the post-five o’clock bar transformation but the lunch was incredible! I was with a large group and though they don’t take bookings there was plenty of space for us. That said, throughout lunch there was a constant queue out the door for tables, so Dublin obviously knows what’s up.(Tiny, tiny complaint about the draft from the door during this queuing but I’m not holding it against them.) We are a group of fitness/health-minded people and it was so pleasant to be able to order the kind of foods we like without getting rolled eyes or bother. Almond-milk cappuccinos all around then! There’s also plenty of delicious options for the vegetarians out there.(Maybe vegans too? I didn’t really check.) The waiters commented that we had pretty much sampled everything from the menu in our order, and mine was the pulled-pork salad. The portion sizes are enormous for what they cost, and so, so delicious. I got two meals out of mine as I took it home. Everyone was super happy with their meals which is unusual, and the guys were fine with us paying separately at the end. I’ll definitely be back!

Finally a place that serves food that is first and foremost yummy and that also happens to be vegan. Everything’s tasty and healthy. They have options for meat eaters too. Baked falafel salad and mexican street food salad are really tasty. I wasn’t too happy with red curry(special) and superfood salad was missing something(some carbs I guess). Make sure to check the specials and if they serve yellow curry give it a try! So yummy!

I just don’t know, it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good either, I just didn’t enjoy my lunch, or the few mouthfuls I pinched off my companions either. Maybe it was the lemony tang infesting everything(I seriously don’t get this, lemon isn’t a condiment!) but I think it was the weird falafel that has really put me off. It was *shudder* «moist» the most vile English language word in existence, and not fried or baked and anything-ed really, and there was just no coming back after that… Staff were grand, neither good nor bad, and juices were the same, and perhaps that’s where I am having a real issue, it was blah. And my expectations were high going in and it just felt like such a let down.

This review is only for takeout. I originally was going to eat there, but I was by myself and the girl at the bar eyed me weirdly when I said dine in. Anyways, I ordered the roast chicken salad to go. For 10 euro, you get a compact amount of food in an open Chinese food takeout container. I walked my lonely self to Stephens Green and parked myself on a bench facing the lake. It was a lovely sunny day to people watch as I voraciously scarfed down the delicious salad. In addition to shredded roast chicken, there’s a celeriac slaw with hazelnuts, a few lightly dressed leaves, and topped with a red pepper pesto. You will definitely be full and then some. I felt completely happy and satisfied with the healthy yet delicious food I had inhaled. Would definitely come back here again next time I’m in Dublin.

I came here for lunch on the weekend — the place was buzzing! We ordered the falafel sandwich, and a pulled pork sandwich. The pulled pork was amazing! The falafel on the other hand I felt was a little lacking in seasoning and a tad dry. Ingredients are really fresh though, and there’s loads of healthy veggies. Service was extremely slow — it took 30 min + for the sandwiches to be ready, and could be because of how crowded the place was. This place is great for vegans and vegetarians. :)

Seriously recommend the roast chicken with celeriac slaw, hazelnuts and red pepper pesto. Huge portion, healthy, filling and absolutely delicious! Can’t wait to go back to try out the rest of their menu.

This is such a wonderful spot !!! and so tasty !!! … I have had every salad on the menu here and each one is gorgeous !! they are all set salads as well at € 7.50 each. so tasty, healthy and unique. not just your average tomato and lettuce !! the portion is big as well ! the sandwiches are unreal as well ! and huge so they fill you for ages ! so nice to have healthy food you can look forward to and not be starving afterwards, usually the the idea of a salad is a reluctant dread to have it and your only eating it cause your forcing yourself to be good. then when you are good you usually end up ruining it with a packet of crisps or chocolate after because it wasn’t satisfying enough! The café is ultra trendy too. and they do take away also… Staff are lovely ! Cash only though people !! They do a lovely breakfast menu too!

I was here for Saturday brunch, the place was packed so they seated us outside and I’m not complaining because the weather was great. The menu seemed pretty simple, vegan dishes, meaty dishes, a sandwich option for some of them. Everything written down in front of you seems mouthwatering in theory and in reality, it was so much better! You are having the best of both worlds, taste AND nutrition. I tried 3 different dishes and found no faults at all, everything was really good and we all left very full and happy. The portion tends to be large but I’m not complaining because I got to bring back home some of the goodness I just had. The juice bar seemed appetising but I haven’t had the chance to try any as they said they had a big order which was causing delays. I was however happy to see that they were serving premium coffee.(With an option of organic milk if you’re not into the strong stuff) Excellent value for quality food.

A great spot/haven for the vegan/veggies/those who want to get their abs back in time for the beach aka me! The Asian pork salad was gorgeous — the meat was well marinated and contrasted perfectly with the fresh tangy salad. The portion was massive and I would recommend to get a main and side to share with a friend if you are only peckish! Service was a bit haphazard as they now share the bar space with the Button Factory so you order the food and coffee/juices through the waiter but you get alcoholic drinks at the bar. It is cash only for the food and pay separately for bar drinks. I’m pretty sure there’s a less confusing way to do things!

Located in Temple bar on Curved street, it’s pretty easy to find and they usually have a billboard out. The café itself in quite rustic in décor; dimly lit with couches in addition to usually tables and chairs, and also a bar. The menu is all mainly quite healthy stuff, including both salads and sandwiches. The salads they have for lunch here are really delicious and healthy, and the servings are pretty big too, making it quite a good value for money. They start at 7.50 euro for a vegan salad, and around 9 – 12 euro for the ones with chicken or pulled pork. I love the falafel salad, and the lemon chicken and fennel one is really good too. It’s not your typical Iceberg salad by the way, and really fills you up! They also serve 3fe coffee, Palais De The teas and a good variety of freshly squeezed juices. The service is pretty good; the staff are friendly and polite. It may take longer to order when it’s really busy, especially at lunch time on weekends, but on weekdays its ok. Overall, a unique café for those seeking something different! Definitely worth a try! By the way, They don’t accept card, only cash!

I started sipping a beet root juice and just couldn’t stop myself. I had it almost finished by the time my pulled pork sandwich came along. It was really really tasty the juice, which also had carrot, apple, pear and lime in it. The sandwich of BBQ pulled pork with Asian slaw was delicious. However I could only managed half of it(the juice is more filling than you might think), so the lovely people at Staple Foods kindly wrapped up the other half of the sandwich for me to take away. 12EUR for the sandwich and juice. As I was so taken with the juice, I asked if I could get four more to take away. It turned out they do four juices as a one day cleanse deal for 20EUR, I just had to give them time for the juices to be prepared. An hour and half later I had my one day cleanse to go. So I finally got to try the famous Staple Foods in Temple Bar and it was all it was cracked up to be. I plan to be back.

Hell to the yes. Kevin has slightly changed the system in here, so that the salads all have set ingredients now that work together really well, in a tried and tested way. Today I got the falafel salad with little slices of apple, a massive dollop of hummus, a sprinkle of sweet little dried cranberries, and fresh spinach leaves. It was all really and truly so good. I felt like I was doing something really good for my body :-) I got the large salad for 7.50 and it’s really a bargain for the quality of food that you get. He also is starting cold press juicing in here which I haven’t tried yet. You can buy whole day’s worth of juice, and pay for one day(20 euro) or three days(60 yoyos) I hear it’s amazing but haven’t tried it yet(too deeply entrenched in the silly season for now!)
