I’ve walked by their door hundreds of times, today however their«three course lunch € 9.50» finally convinced me. The place was surprisingly busy, and we were seated all the way to the back by the kitchen door. The choice of starters and mains are similar to most curry places. My chicken tikka was four chunks of chicken served with shredded lettuce and obligatory creative sauce swirls. Not amazing but fine. Main was lamb gorkhali, a nicely spiced lamb curry served with a side of pretty good aloo ghobi. Portion sizes may be a little small, but I remind myself of the price, and the fact that I am a 90kg eating machine. Rice and crispy nan bread were plentiful, we didn’t finish it, mostly because we ran out of sauce. Coffee and tea were also included. A hidden gem this is not, a decent value lunch option it surely is.

I went into this resteraunt last week purely by chance. I had a beautiful Korma dish, one of the nicest I have ever had. I can’t remember what my partner had but she attested that it was very good. So I guess I could say on the strength of 2 dishes, this polace is on my recommended list. The staff were very nice and the price was good. 5 stars, enough said really.

I have only had the takeaway option from this place so can’t comment on what it’s like eating in the restaurant. I don’t rate the takeaway particularly highly. I’ve tried it a few times but I don’t think I’ll go back. Had a lamb biryani at the weekend that was very bland and the lamb was really fatty. The poppadoms were a bit stale and the korma sauce I tasted was flavourless. Also noticed after ordering through just-eat that the prices there are roughly a euro higher than on their own site’s takeaway menu. That’s not something I have come across before and found it a bit sneaky. It’s quite an expensive place anyway so the extra euro on everything really is too much. The delivery guy was very friendly which was a plus! All in all, there are better and cheaper options in the same delivery area.

Ended up here because Mantraa is closed«until further notice». Was a bit put off because the place was empty, but the food was good, price was reasonable and has a good wine list.

I do like Indian food. I just didn’t enjoy my meal here. The cooked food was only okay. Desserts were those prefabricated ones, on this occasion containing some unidentifiable bits(possibly finger nails). Not a pleasant dining experience. I got the impression that the staff had somewhere else they’d rather be. I won’t go back here even if somebody offers to pay for me.

We enjoy spicy Indian food, and were surprised to see three Nepalese restaurants during our first couple of weeks in Dublin. Taste of Everest is the closest to our home, so it is the first we have tried. Overall, we had a good experience. The menu offers a wide variety of choices for lots of diffent tastes. We started with veggie Pakodas, which were flavorful and crisp. The accompanying sauces were also quite nice. Our main was a lamb in a thick green curry sauce. It had a nice hint of spice and the lamb was nicely done. The chickpea lentil side dish was also good. Plenty of garlic in the naan bread, and a decent job with the basmati rice. Although efficient, the service was not that great. They tried to upsell us on the starters and main course, which was pretty annoying. The staff seemed really hesitant, which gave an awkward feel to the place. The place has the look and feel of the million other Indian places we have all been to, which is just fine. Comfortable surroundings and good food make this a worthwhile visit.

**Disclaimer — I don’t know if this is still the same business, or if Tulsi is gone and Taste of Everest has taken its place.** I have a pet hate. It seems like every single sit-down restaurant in this city has at least three plaques on the wall advertising that they’re the best according to someone in some year. Georgina Campbell, Bridgestone, Paolo Tullio or what-have-you; everyone has something. Having so many awards cheapens the concept so you have no idea which places really are head and shoulders above the rest. I had never been to the Tulsi incarnation of this restaurant but when I left Taste of Everest, as it’s now known, I was ready to pull down the three Bridgestone and two Georgina and four Galumphing Groundhog plaques from the wall, ’cause this just wasn’t special. Our party of three had Himalayan lamb(in a yoghurt and spice mixture), navratan curry(spicy veg) and palak paneer(cheese cubes in spinach). The lamb was tough, the«very spicy» veggies hardly tickled, and the spinach and cheese were bland. To their credit, the naans that came with the mains were very nice and we did get papadoms with chutney very soon after we sat down. The most interesting part was the waiter, who looked like he was ready to pack up and leave — and was already in la-la land half the time. It took three requests to bring a glass of water. He didn’t refill my glass when it spilled, and left the wine glasses on the table after we had opted against wine. This is in an empty restaurant, mind you, so it’s not for lack of free time! He looked at my friend’s skin colour and asked where she was from, but didn’t care to ask the two others(hey, we both have funny accents too). The only time he was immediately available was after we’d finished eating: he hung in the nearby doorway, watching out of the corner of his eye until we asked him for the bill. We walked out full of mediocre food and laughing at the whole experience.

I went for dinner with some people from work recently. We had booked in for the early bird on a Friday evening. When we arrived there was hardly anyone else in the restaurant and this suited us fine…6 people got the early bird, 2 people got normal mains and this was no problem. They were happy to accommodate the fact the fact we were ordering off two different menus. I hate it when staff say it’s too much fuss… what’s the big deal? We managed to get though 2 bottles of wine and 6 beers and the total bill came to less then € 270 which we all thought was really good value! We took our time over dinner and left at our leisure at about 9. The service was brilliant. Very enjoyable evening!

I heart Indian food, especially well priced lunches at Indian just up the road from work so I can walk there and kinda roll back to the office afterwards. This location was great, and I was blessed to work with other curry lovers… really their curry was superb. The service was alway really fast so we were able to punch back in on time and the décor was nice.
