I first went to Teeling for a Unilocal event, and have since gone back! The tour is pretty good, you have a very knowledgeable tour guide explaining you the history of Teeling and also the whiskey making process(are you listening, Guinness?) and also ready to take your questions. Of course, the whole thing comes to life during the Whiskey tasting, and there’s nothing like having an expert right next to you to ask whatever comes to mind, and to give you tips on how to best savor the whiskey as well. But the Teeling experience doesn’t end with the tour, like I said above I have since gone back. And I have enjoyed both their cocktail bar and also their coffee shop in the bottom floor. And every once in a while they have cool events and small markets going on there as well, so it’s well worth following them.

I loved the Spirit of Dublin. The tour is short because the place is compact, and they make the story of whiskey making dynamic and understandable. Very engaging tour guide. I got the lowest-level tasting. I typically do not care for whiskey at all, but thought I’d give Irish a go, since I was there, for godssakes. I’m glad I did. Teeling is smooth and slightly sweet, and I really liked it — ESPECIALLY in the SUPERDELICIOUS cocktail that was part of my tasting. I even bought a second cocktail(Red Leg Rebellion!) at the bar.

Dublin distillery… What’s not to love! A massive great addition to the Dublin culture scene, this place provides a great tour which gives some insights into the history of Telling and what I loved most about the tour was the focus on the local area and it’s importance to this legacy of Teeling. The tour finishes in their bar area which is a large open space which is great for unwinding with a whiskey(or beer, wine, cocktail) after the tour. I’ve had the pleasure of also being here at 2 private event and I just love the venue space, it’s unique and i like it! You also have of course, the merchandise corner which comes with all sorts of memorabilia plus what ever whiskey fan wants; a selection of Teeling whiskeys for sale with some vintage bottles available, it’s also a great place to visit and pick up that special bottle for that special person. They will forever love you for it! There is a café here also, so if hanging my the bar area upstairs in not your thing, you can hang out at the café and have yummy coffee and servings of delicious cakes/sweet treats. Why not 5 stars, unfortunately at my last event here… 2 members of the bar staff were so abrupt and rude on many occasions during the night; whilst the majority of staff here are fabulous, one in particular left me feeling a little angry, her eye rolling and face pulling really got to me… If you don’t want to work there, don’t! If you don’t like catering for parties, don’t do that shift! I should have taken her name; but yep, a little brush up on service needed there!

They do things right here at Teeling! I never thought I’d rate a Whiskey Distillery, let alone so high, considering I don’t even like whiskey. But, I do love the Teeling Distillery. I’ve been here a few times for different events, and I always love stopping by. I will definitely bring people here, it’s an essential stop on the Dublin visitors tour! It’s a very welcoming spot and definitely doesn’t have a «tourists only» feeling. They do tours and all that but there is a café and bar and it’s a place that’s worth stopping by just for a drink(coffee or cocktail!). Staff is very friendly and welcoming, not to mention knowledgable. The tour is actually very interesting, not drawn out and boring, it begins with a time-lapse video of the construction of the building(very cool) and a brief summary of the brand’s history, then the tour through the whole process of producing whiskey in the room where it is made, then the tasting. A very generous pour for a tasting, too! The staff give some great tips on how to taste whiskey and it’s not at all a pretentious experience. They know their stuff and are very approachable and helpful if you have questions. It’s a beautiful space, tasteful and modern. The bar area is fairly small because the majority of the floor is set up for tastings(after the tour) but it’s great that they let you stop by just for a drink without having to do the tour. They also have the shop with lots of merchandise. The décor they have up for the holidays is adorable, it’s very clever because it’s all made of parts from a cask! I love the cocktails here! It’s the only way I can enjoy whiskey. I don’t think I would have ordered myself a whiskey cocktail, but once I had them at a Unilocal Elite event we attended here, I will definitely be back just to sit at the bar and order one(or two). They are very balanced and easy to enjoy, despite how strong whiskey can be. It’s very close to where we live so I’m looking forward to trying the café sometime soon. Also visited for their first Christmas Craft Fair and was pleasantly surprised! They worked with all kinds of local talent to put together a great afternoon, it took place in their fairly small exhibition area but there were several stalls, everything from honey to black pudding to screen printed tote bags done right there on the spot. Very well organized and presented, lots of free samples, including a tasting of their whiskey. Most stalls had worked together with Teeling to make an exclusive product, the best of which was the Teeling ice cream from Glastry Farms, delicious! There was also Teeling infused jam, christmas pudding and more. It was nice to see Teeling giving small Irish businesses the spotlight, and supporting the local artisanal and handmade community. I hope they do more events like this in the future!

Came here on a recommendation from some locals, and they were correct. You are not going to have a 30 minute walk around an old factory, instead you get to see a small/micro distillery at work. You get to see the actual tanks, feel the warmth of the tanks, see the distillation process for about 20 minutes, than you get to taste the whiskey. The tour was nice, the whiskey was good but the way that the tour guide treated the tour group and the employees answered our questions was top notch. After the tour we decided to get more drinks, and conveniently they have their own bar where you end the tour. Everyone that worked there was super cool, and nice. Nice little gem.

if you like Teeling Whiskey: welcome home! If not: give an opportunity to this place. The building is amazing, the new business ideas nice and well done. You can feel the positive energy of the place and the staff developing a new way for the old idea of global marketing. They have tours in the distillery, whiskey taste, cocktail bar and shop, all of them for a reasonable price and feeling that you are a host in the house.

Great friendly staff who really know their stuff! A huge and impressive building sitting right in the heart of The Coombe on the South side of the city. There’s an incredible little coffee spot called the«Phoenix Café» as soon as you step in the door and it’s spacious, quaint and inviting. The Phoenix being the animal insignia of their company supposedly representing the rebirth of Whiskey in Dublin! The tour of this distillery is well worth your while as you’ll be given an informative tour of the distillery’s recent history, see a brief video of the building’s construction with a lovely little song playing(Probably something by Bipolar Empire) and be treated with a tasting at the end! The staff are young, enthusiastic and hilarious. They are all incredibly well informed and passionate about their craft and will whip you up some glorious cocktails! The branding is very Jack Daniels-esque, a gift shop with hoodies, packaged Whiskeys and keyrings adds to the conventionality of the business they’ve entered into. I will definitely be back and have been telling everybody about this wonderful new gem in the heart of the city!

I was on a flight back to Dublin and at the airport liquor store they had Teeling Whiskey, so I picked up a bottle to give it a try. I was happy I did as it turned out to be a very good whisky. So, when the distillery opened up in Dublin for tours, I jumped at the first chance I had to take a tour. The tour itself isn’t anything new if you have visited other distilleries. They walk you through the process and the history of the company. The bonus to this one is that they are currently the only active distillery in Dublin. You can also do a Jamison one, but that is actually distilled in Middleton. Speaking of Jamison, when you do a tour of that distillery only a few people get to sample whiskey. At Teeling everyone in tour was able to sample. Afterword we stayed for a few drinks at the bar and samples a few of the signature cocktails, which were delicious, and a bit expensive.

Lovely wee distillery in Dublin. Cracking tour and tasting! Dispute in the group between the single malt and the single grain but all were divine! Well worth a visit to taste the Spirit of Dublin!

I did this tour as part of Culture Night. I feel like it’s worth mentioning that I found out about it on the Culture Night website where it clearly stated tours needed to be pre-booked, as other reviews seem to be saying this wasn’t mentioned anywhere. Maybe it wasn’t made clear enough but this would be the fault of the Culture Night organisers rather than Teelings so it’s quite unfair to give a poor review on this basis. I’m not a big whiskey drinker myself but went with a whiskey fan and we both really enjoyed the tour. Straight away we got handed a tasty whiskey cocktail — a great start! Our guide gave us a history of the Teelings brand before leading us through the process whereby they produce the whiskey, explaining what all the different equipment did at each stage. He was knowledgable about all the processes and answered any questions people had well. Finally we got to sample one of the whiskey they produce. We then also made a trip to the bar where I had another cocktail, also really tasty, and where you can also try any of the other whiskeys. The tour is short and simple, but covers everything you want to know and everyone we spoke to working there seemed to know their stuff. The only minor disappointment was that the café was closed that evening so we couldn’t try the Teelings ice-cream! Would recommend a visit though, particularly if you’re a whiskey buff.

I went there due to Culture Night, listed in their booklet. No pre-booking was mentioned in the Culture Night booklet. I checked their website and no mentioned either. At the door a staff told us was pre-booking only, as well as the standard«we are sorry». This is called disorganisation. I won’t be there back anymore.

Excellent personal tour of Dublin’s only(currently) operating whiskey distillery. There is a choice of tastings at the end. I preferred this over the Irish Whiskey Museum(however that was also pretty good). Also preferred it over the Jameson whiskey tour(again, also pretty good). Café inside serves good food. Tours run every 30 min. I would strongly recommend this tour

Teelings have done an amazing job with there new distillery and tour. Firstly the building looks great, the interior is so raw and fresh. Also, there is a great café(serving 3fe coffee) that passers-by can use which makes the distillery feel like part of the square. The tour is done the way tours of distilleries/breweries should be done, you visit a functioning operation and see stuff being made! The tour guide(I think Méabh I think…) was excellent, giving a concise and interesting introduction to the history of whiskey in Dublin before moving on to a tour of the operation. The distillery itself is small, but I think that is a good thing for a tour as you can see all the operations in a row and how they fit together. It is very interactive, you can physically touch most of the pieces of equipment and have a good look inside. No Whiskey is actually matured in Dublin, but you are shown a few casks and given the low-down on the importance of the maturing process, different types and sources of casks and how Teelings use them in developing certain flavour profiles. The most important part is the tasting, there is a € 14, € 20 and € 30 option when you first arrive. I went with the Trinity(€ 20) which gets you a sample of Teelings’ three main offerings; single grain, single malt and small batch. I loved them all and really enjoyed the tasting session. I liked them so much I bought a bottle of one on the way out(I’ll be back for the other two). Actually, I must just go and pour myself a Teelings…

We visited Teelings a few weekends ago on one of the many rainy Sundays we’ve experienced so far this summer. We had ordered our tickets online and arranged the our tour time in advance, but you can also purchase tickets upon our arrival. Our tour was led by Alex. He gave us a little history about the brewery and let us know what to expect. Over the next 15 minutes he walked us through the brewery and educated us on the distillation process, as well as the nuances during the aging process that makes Teelings unique. We actually got to see the massive copper distillation tanks where this magical liquid of theirs is triple distilled. At the end of the tour was the main event… the tasting! You can choose between the standard € 14 that includes one whiskey and a cocktail; their € 20 Trinity tasting, which as it sounds includes three specialty whiskeys; or the € 30 Single Malt tasting which also gives you a flavour of three whiskeys. I highly recommend the tour and going with the Trinity Tasting; which led to me purchasing a bottle of the Single Grain whiskey. I mean, what’s not to love about Irish whiskey aged inside a California red wine barrel? Would return!

Really cool tour !! Its really cool to see a proper working distillery. They bring you through a short history of distilling whiskey in dublin, then into the actual working distillery which is fab! the smell is amazing. You get to see the 3 giant copper distillery(i dont know what there called — copper distilling things) their very impressive. After you find about the barreling and ageing process then finally onto the most important part. The tasting! you get a cocktail and a straight up whiskey. Your brought through the tasting points and what to look for in whiskeys. The tour guide was hit and miss he went through different points of being charismatic and informative to seeming like he wasnt interested in what he was talking about. and although thats not the end of the world its just not a polished as the tours in the whiskey museum or the jamison distillery. I still wouldnt knock it though! was a great way to kill a hour or so and I did very much enjoy it !

Sadly I cannot remember the girl that guided us on our journey but I do know she was from Waterford. The only other tour that I enjoyed as much as this was at Anchor Brewing in San Francisco. This is the only working distillery in Dublin so if you want hands on then go here. The staff are energetic and enthusiastic and I hope they don’t loose that spirit. The tour takes 30 min as you meander through the history process and tasting. The smells are wonderful and the copper stills are simply art I their own right. We opted for the 30e tasting which is their top priced ticket and represents their stock very well. Nice gift shop at the end as all tours must end in the gift shop. We got a bottle of their small batch aged in rum casks and some mason jars. I don’t often give 5 stars but this place feels right and it’s nice to support a local business that have invested their passion money and enthusiasm. It also helps that their product is very tasty. Finally they have a coffee shop serving pastries etc on the ground floor.

We decided to do the Teeling Distillery Tour(newly opened on Newmarket, Dublin 8) instead of going out for dinner and I’m very very glad we did! Our tour guide(I’m very sorry I never caught her name!) was excellent. She is clearly enthusiastic about the place, the brand and also very knowledgeable! You’re taken through the history of not only the brand but the history of Dublin Whiskey(note the spelling!) and then through the distillation process… In the maturation room you get to see the various stages from mash through to matured whiskey — if you’re brave enough you can sample it too! The highlight of the tour was obviously the tasting. The bar is a great set up. They have your drinks ready for you as you walk through the door. It’s lovely and bright and a fab way to enjoy the whiskey! With my € 14 ticket I got to try their Small Batch and one of their cocktails — the cocktail on that day was a raspberry iced tea(small batch, asperol, ginger and raspberries) delicious and tart and perfect way to cool down after the tour! It’s only recently opened but if you’re anyway into whiskey(or whisky!) you have got to pay a visit to the only operating distillery in Dublin!!! Finished off in the gift shop(where all good tours must end!) and picked up a bottle of Small Batch and two whiskey glasses. I just had to buy their whiskey in a jar :-)

Want to visit the ONLY operating whiskey distillery in Dublin? That’s right, Teeling are the first in over 100 years to have opened a functioning distillery in the city to produce this iconic Irish beverage. Tickets start from 14 €, but you can pay a little extra if you want to try more whiskey samples by the end of the tour — so the price doesn’t influence the tour itself, only the drinks they’ll serve you. I’d definitely recommend getting their pricier tickets if you never had a chance to try their whiskeys before. Located in the historically fitting Liberties, Teeling’s renewed brick building gives Newmarket square a fresh more confident look. The whole place is über sober in terms of image, with white, black and wood tones dominating everything from the interiors to the merchandise. Even the museum is minimalistic with its B&W photos and sparse use of large typography on the walls. The naked interiors may look daunting when you start the tour in a dimly lit ante-room that leads to the distillery itself, but once you go in it all makes sense, because there’s so much more to experience in there. The first thing that hits you is the strong distinctive smell of malt. Now, if you grew up near a brewery like I did, it’ll probably feel nice and sweet to you, but otherwise it can be a bit unsettling at first. You’re then showed around and get to see all the machinery, stills, and even samples of the ingredients or by-products that are involved in the whole distilling process. After you’ve soaked all that in, and taken as many photos as you please, it’s time for a little bit of guided whiskey tasting. As you walk in the spacious and trendy tasting room, you’ll find your table already set and waiting for you — isn’t that a nice touch! Before you leave you can stop by the gift shop, which sells a small number of merchandise items plus their whiskeys. If you’re feeling peckish, stop by the nice café downstairs. GOIF you’re in any way curious about whiskey, this is live Dublin history right here and you get to make a lot of questions and maybe even meet some of the makers! They might be a young-ish enterprise, but they care a lot about the traditions associated with their craft. BESTPART for me was just admiring the beautiful copper pot stills, handmade in Italy. SOMEIMPROVEMENTS could still be made in terms of signage for the visitors and the delivery of the tour by our guide was also a little bit shaky, but I’m sure they’ll get better as time goes by. Really looking forward to taste what comes out of there in a few years time :)

So we managed to get on the first official public tour of the distillery just after opening — on a Saturday morning at 9:30am! But that made the tour that little bit special too. And we truly enjoyed it. That everything still smells new adds obviously to the experience but wasn’t the only reason to enjoy it. After paying(€ 14, which is around the ususal price for such tours in Dublin), you’ve time to look through their exhibition of brilliant black & white photos /impressions of Dublin(I definitely loved them!) and memorabilia around whiskey. Once the tour starts you first get an introduction into the history of irish whiskey(note: the extra«e» came in there to show that the irish whiskey is better than the scottish whisky ;-)) and then enter into the production hall where they explain how the barley becomes eventually whiskey — in this part of the process it stays around 6 days. Obviously as it’s a working distillery you get the smell which adds to the experience. In the next part you learn more about the next at least 6 years of the whiskey in barrels to become proper whiskey. This whole first part of the tour takes around 30 minutes — with time to ask questions. And finally you have a tasting of pure whiskey and a whisky cocktail with further explanations. This part takes as long as you like ;-) Last but not least you can have a gander through their shop and get their whiskey, truffles, marinade, drinking jars, caps, shirts and the likes — all very tasteful and nicely displayed. And tasteful presentation is what stuck me during the whole tour. Even though it’s rather a tourist attraction it doesn’t shout at you. From the beginning to the end a lot of design(down to the smallest detail), thoughts and love went into it and our guide(Niall) was full of passion for the distillery and everything whiskey related — a very worthy and witty ambassador. We didn’t take the time to try the café but might come back to that as it’s accessible without doing the tour as far as I could see — even though I will definitely come back, probably with friends visiting. I don’t easily give five starts but couldn’t think of a reason to deduct one.
