Terenure Take A Way

This is one of the most expensive take aways I’ve been to in the country. Reasonable average fare but no value.

Been ordering the pasta with chilli, garlic and olive oil with a side of bruschetta for quite a while now and was generally always satisfied wih the food/​service
Had a friend over tonight and all she was craving was a kebab — We called in our order (specifically asking if the particular kebab sought was do able!) and expected a wait time of about 30/​40mins
After an hour we called trying to figure out what was goin on. We were met with an extremely defensive voice and after some explanation we were told ‘THE DRIVER IS ON THE WAY” Alright woman! Calm down, we were only asking!?!
Another 25mins past and nothing so we called again, the same narky voice — «THE DRIVER IS ON THE WAY» Yes Yes but WHEN?!
Eventually the driver came and the poor guy had been given the wrong address — ok so we had been patient enough and all we wanted to do was get stuck into our food — we were STARVING!
My friend opened her food and it was the wrong dish! NIGHTMARE!
Well! …She was NOT happy: (
I called to let them know that we had put up with enough, we had received wrong dish and that we weren’t happy — The voice apologised, said she’d a guy on training (i asked was nobody supervising him? — she said she was!!!)
Anyway she said she’d send the driver back with correct dish and our money back (Eh…that was about an hour ago — we placed our order at 7.50pm and we are STILL waiting for that correct dish)
I called one more time just to see what was the hold up — NOT for our money back — JUST the dish because to be honest we were only interested in getting what we ordered — i spoke to a man this time and he said he was the manager — i said that it was a bit ridiculous and that nobody had even once apologised — he said ‘Why should i apologize — i didn’t make the mistake’
Priceless — The manager speaking those words!!!
He then said Thank you and hung up on me!
FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE — JUST FANTASTIC
Will NEVER call there again for delivery or any ordering of ANY SORT.

I was a regular here at one point — I worked in a restaurant in Booterstown and waited till I got home to Tererenure every friday and sat eve at 2am to eat… they do a great snack box which went incredibly well with a couple of large scotch and recorded episodes of Star trek.
God how I miss those days!

A bit of a Terenure institution this one, while not quite offereing the same kinda of grub as the very refined Olivers eatery up the road in Vaughans, Terenure take away or Lisa’s is still a great bet for late night chips.
The colourful family that run it also own and operate the restaurant next door, Lisa’s Trattoria. Which despite it’s modest size does big business.
Terenure take away is open late on those crucial Friday and Saturday nights when they get most of their business. The chips are nice if a little greasy but you usually don’t notice at 3 in the morning. As well as chips they do usual chipper fare, burgers, sausages, snack boxes and pizza’s.
Ireland manager Giovanni Trapatoni has an open invite for free dinner in the restaurant or take away. I’m sure he’ll be in any day now.
The take away also delivers if your just that lazy!
