Tesco Express

If I’m in the area in future I’ll always try to go to the Tesco on Camden street rather than this one. It’s convenient but never has the things I want in it! Limited selection of free from foods & the only milk alternative is soy… But that’s probably just me being fussy!

I’m not a local so I don’t know how this compares to other shops but for a visitor, this has been really a helpful stop in the neighborhood… just enough food selection for us to get by with two lunch menus instead of eating out all the time. The manager was helpful when we had trouble and the location was convenient to where we were staying.

The only good thing about this Tesco Express is that they have private parking at the rear, unlike Camden street Tesco. I don’t like being negative so I’m just going to mention a few things they need to «improve».
Firstly, the fresh fruit and veg could do with being restocked more often and «the no-​so-​fresh» stock needs to be binned or seriously reduced. Secondly, I know not to expect much fresh meat and fish options from an express store but I would love to see turkey, salmon, white fish in stock more often. It’s a bit and miss most day. Finally, the staff could do with some client-​facing training, some of the check-​out staff don’t even look at you, never mind open their mouth and the floor staff treat you as if you’re an obstacle as they rush around the store looking busy — not stocking shelves.
Not a pleasant grocery run.
