The bakehouse do a great coddle. Coddle is a traditional dublin stew made with«meat». Historically, you’d be happier in ignorance as to what the«meat» was, but the bakehouse goes for sausages and rashers. It’s salty and filling and tasty. Prices are kind of expensive. If it was 50 cent cheaper I’d be very happy with the price. The location, the CHQ building, is spacious and handsome. I’d recommend taking your lunch and sitting out on the concourse.

Delicious lunch and lovely staff! Beef stew was awesome on a cold day! Decent price too for the area.

Love this place! It’s tough because it’s a lunchtime venue and I need a nap after every meal I have here, but it’s worth it! Whole hearty mammy foods at its finest, get the stew you will not be disappointed. But maybe don’t tell your mam!

If you’re looking for a super fresh, hand made, quality, soft and tasty sambo for lunch this is probably the place for you! They also do a wide variety of soups such as a daily special, coddle, seafood chowder and chicken and leek. The coffee that I’ve had from here has been top notch. For town prices it’s average and I can see why the line is so big at lunch!
