Many many happy nights in here until I gave up the drink! As another reviewer says it’s typically track suits and that’s day and night. Being honest, it’s a bar for locals but as its so close to Rathmines and Ranelagh it caught my eye. There’s no food as mentioned by another and I can’t imagine there ever will be! It’s a working mans pub, though not strictly by definition. An advantage of the pub is there is a little discretion with the time of your last drink. Hush! It’s mainly a mans pub especially on the bar side. There’s a chance of an elderly lady in the lounge, but if I saw a young girl in here, I’d have fainted, to be frank. Excellent foreign gentleman behind the bar, long standing bar man, I can’t remember where he’s from, but very good guy. Finally there is quite a few eccentrics who propped up the bar when I frequented it, made for interesting chats. Very finally, there’s two floors over this very small pub. They aren’t in any way part of the pub #Walking distance to Harcourt St lol

Good pints, good staff, genuine feeling, only drawback no kind of food. But who needs food when there is Guinness?

It’s a good pub for checking out a football match if you want to be guaranteed a spot to sit and not too much hassle or noise. The dress is über casual, we were the only ones not in sweatpants …
