Excellent place! I had the steak on a stone and thought it was really good! They had a fast service, all personnel was very welcoming and the place looked really clean and tidy. I had a small problem with my food, but the server immediately replaced it for a complete new plate and offered me a sincere apologize, also they offered me to pick a dessert as courtesy, but I couldn’t accept it as I was so full! The manager then approached me and offered me an apology again and offered a discount on my check. I believe they have an excellent service, all of the servers were really attentive and courteous and the manager showed excellent professionalism, really recommend this place!

Overrated Not a pub but a brasserie. There is a pub on the corner but only serving drinks. The next door brasserie is quite wide and can get noisy. Free wifi. Our server did not know the range of beers he was serving, made an error when serving our food. We also asked our son to be served first and earlier and. he was served last!

From the food to the service, everything was excellent! The coddle was fantastic, as was the beef stew. If I’m ever in Dublin again, I will definitely be back!

The Local pub that will never be a Local– The pub is soulless on the outside, gaudy on the inside, and decorated with no theme whatsoever in mind. Aside from this, it wouldn’t be a bad place to while away sunny summer afternoons, except for the horrible attitude of the manager. He scowls at customers and is rude to people who don’t look a certain way, for no reason. So, if you’re longing for a bit of South side snobbery on the North side of the Liffey with less than mediocre food and a sullen, dank atmosphere, by all means visit The Lotts

I really liked this bar/restaurant. Had a delcious breakfast here upon arrival in dublin straight from the airport and it hit the spot. Also came back later that night for a pint and to watch a rugby match on the tele and was quite impressed with how full this bar was on a Wednesday night. Friendly servers too!

I’ve walked by so many times without giving this place a chance. shame on me! I’ve been here recently to watch a match with friends and more importantly to try their famous steak on the stone. The pub/restaurant looked really nice and cozy, we have been seated just in front of the telly all set for the match. We ordered the special steak on the stone which is only 30 euro for two person and it came with a bottle of house red wine, salad and three different sauces. Steak was tender and delicious; having it on the stone allow you to decide how you like to have the steak cooked and to have the steak always hot which I love it. Only down side, if any: be aware of what you are wearing, everything will smell like you worked in a steak house!

good pub to watch football matches and get together with friends. Steak on the stone and a pint of Galway hooker are highly recommended for a nice dinner

Visiting from the states and this by far is the WORST service I’ve ever experienced! We walked in tired but excited to finally get some good eats into our bellies after a very long day. We ended up waiting over an hour to get our food, our waitress was very inattentive, oh but she had time to be on her cell phone. Since the waitress wasn’t around, we had to keep going to the bar to order our drinks. When she finally came over because I literally touched her a in order to get Her attention, we asked why our food was taking so long? Her response was that they had many orders ahead of us, thats when I pointed out that the two tables who were seated AFTER us received their food. She of course was speechless. When another 20 mins passed, I tried calling the manager over to our table to ask about why our food still wasn’t out, he completely ignored me. This is when I lost my cool and went up to him to ask what the hold up was. He was just as clueless as the waitress and simply said it was coming out. 10 mins later he brought out one of the 5 dishes ordered and the other was the wrong order. We informed him of yet another mistake they made and 10 mins after that, our food finally came! After all of that, they said«well I can offer you complimentary desserts» SERIOUSLY?! If they had a negative star, that’s what I would rate them. I will never be back to this establishment, nor would I ever recommend it to anyone who actually cares about their time.

I liked this place. Quiet, quick service & a happy waitor(though when we were there we were wrecked & he didn’t seem to understand that we didn’t want any banter with our meal on this occasion). This place is famous for it’s steak on a stone so we brought a friend here & he raved about it for the whole rest of the week. I am not a steak fan so ordered the chicken wings. They were ok. Average really. I had a side salad with my wings which was literally just lettuce, tomatoe & onion… A bit of variety would have been great. The reason I’m knocking off another star is because all of our glasses were dirty with black spots where they had obviously been put into the dishwasher with the stone from the steak on a stone dish… Very off putting.

I was here at New Year’s Eve with other friends from Spain, France and Switzerland eating steak on the stone with sides of potatoes, three different sauces and a bottle of white wine sharing with my friend. Good customer service and really good price. Only 20 euros per couple.

Where’s the minus a star button? I have been to The Lotts numerous times over the years for a drink. I’ve even eaten there a couple times. I was there last month with the guys from work and ordered a chicken and bacon wrap. It was ok, nothing special, but I got it on the lunch deal so was happy enough with what I got for 5.50(I borrowed someones loyalty card) I probably would have given a 3 star, based upon the drinks and atmosphere. Fast forward to yesterday. Thouroughly starving, I once again went with the lads for lunch at the Lotts. They all have the«Lunch Special» card which entitles you to lunch for 5.50. I do not have one yet, so I was paying full price. I once again ordered the mozzerella, chicken and bacon wrap and the fun began. It took 40 minutes for our lunch to come(1 wrap, 1 sambo, 2 breakfasts) and it wasn’t exactly packed in there. When it arrived, it was tiny! I commented that for the price, 9.95, it wasn’t much of a portion. The guy said«its because they wrapped it short and fat rather than long and thin». I replied«that doesn’t account for the lack of filling», as I could see there wasn’t much but wrap. Why gve smart talk back to a customer? I’m not stupid, I can see its not long, but short. I can also see its tiny, so don’t tell me its not. He did say he’d bring me another, to which I said«No, thats fine, I’ll just have this one». I already suspected that I wasn’t going to eat it based on its appearance. It was completely inedible. The wrap had been soaked through completely, but then baked or grilled, maybe microwaved? This turned it into leather. I managed to cut a hole in the wrap and fish out some of the chicken/bacon. The chicken tasted of the rubbery boiled variety, and so did the extra fatty bacon. Now this bacon was not what I’d call ham, it was the type of bacon which should be fried. Imagine biting into a boiled rasher, disgusting. It was also missing the mozzerella. The whole thing was all just very wet and disgusting tasting. About 5 minutes later the guy appears with another wrap(how did the 1st one take 40 mins?) I told him thanks but I wasn’t even eating the first one, nevermind another. He shrugged his shoulders and walked away. You just walk away from me? Wow. No I’m sorry, can I get you something else? Can I take it away? ?? So I watch the lads eat thiers, which they said was ok, edible for 5.50. I thought I was going to pass out from hunger. So when they were all done, we go up to pay. I went up, thinking that when I went to pay for my diet coke the guy would say sorry about that, its on the house. Nope, he starts out«Chicken and bacon wrap, that 9.95 plus the .» I said«Sorry, I’m not paying for my food». He says«I’ll just charge you the lunch special price.» I raised my voice just a smidge and said«I’m not paying for the food. I didn’t eat it. Its still on the table» He looked me in the eye and says«Well you had a diet coke didn’t you» I said«Yes, I did have that» I handed over a fiver and he handed me change. while doing so, he says«I took apart the extra one I brought and taste dit, it wasn’t very nice» Wow. As I started out saying, over the years we’ve been there off and on. A friday night pint, a couple of quiz nights, even just last Saturday a quick afternoon thirst quencher. I have to say, I will never darken its door again. Ever. To be treated so shabbily. Its no wonder the place is mainly empty at lunchtime even with the 5.50 deal. There are about 20 other places to go within a 5 min walk where you can get great food at decent prices.

The other day we were looking for a nice place to have lunch and we stumbled across The Lotts. The place is really nice, looks a bit like a large reception at the luxury hotel with all the crystal chandeliers. They have an upstairs with a grand piano but it doesn’t seem to be used. What a shame… But coming back to lunch. I decided to get the special meat pasta and my boyfriend had a goat cheese salad. As it was the pancake day we were also promised a free pancake for dessert. So far, so good. Pasta seemed ok, the service was quick and friendly. But…I was eating my pasta and suddenly I came crossed some weird taste in my mouth… It was a piece of metal, probably from a tin or something like that. Hmm…We told our waiter and he apologised… Well, I was no longer in the mood for pancakes… Don’t get me wrong, probably it’s a lovely place and this kind of incident can happen anywhere and not very often, it’s just I don’t think I’ll be coming back…

The Lotts is basically two different places rolled into one. Usually this might result in some sort of split-pub-personality but here it seems to work. I personally prefer the smaller pub at the corner, which has a lovely ‘local’ atmosphere and helpful staff. In here you can watch the match of the day and have a quiet chat over a pretty good pint. I don’t like the modern part as much for two reasons: it’s usually busier so not as quiet and because every time I walk in I keep thinking that I’ve seen it all before, i.e. it’s not too original. But then again, that’s probably a bit too much to ask from a pub. All in all, the Lott’s is one of the better places to go to in that corner of the city.

I’ve been to The Lotts a good few times and I really like it. The vibe and décor are lovely. I had a really tasty salad here one evening by myself(you can sit here on your own and not feel like a loser by the way!) — it was both cheap and yummy. The rest of the menu is pretty good too. They serve quality wines by the glass and it’s an ideal spot to pop into for a relaxing bevvy if you’re doing some shopping on the north side of town.

Insanely popular with the after work crowd, it can be difficult to get a seat in the lounge of this bar after 6pm, particularly on a Friday. However, if you are in the market for a bit of flirtation, then this is the place to go, as you will be in close proximity to a lot of sweet young things who have just been paid. However, if you want to rest your legs, head next door to the little bar, which is a lot less packed and trendy.

When you cross over the Ha’Penny Bridge to the Northside and walk down Liffey street you will see this place on the corner. It’s a strange combination of a traditional bar and a modern bar. The corner front of it is of the traditional style and inside it’s your normal quiet Irish traditional pub. A place to mull over a pint and watch TV. The modern part of the bar extends down the side alley. This is a jazz café style bar. A place were you can listen to someone playing the piano in a very relaxed setting. It never gets too busy but it never is dead either, just the right balance. Staff are excellent and very helpful. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this venture works. It suits every mood. They also have a good bar menu.

Lotts is a mixture of a lot of things, a restauarant, a pub, a café and a function place. I have spent many a evening with friends in here for after work dinner and cocktails. The staff are friendly, eager to please and do their job well. The food is delicious and they give you the option of having Buckwheat pasta or noodles which is a really healthy option. They have various pasta dishes, chicken and steak dishes which are all delicious and well prepared. If you are not that hungry you can ask for a starter portion of a main course which is a really good option to have. In Lotts they are very generous and give a complimentary evening warmer; they bring you freshly baked warm bread and a little taster of one of their home-made soups for free. If you have not been to this place, I suggest you give it a visit. Trust me you will not regret it!
