Went their the other say to the upstairs restaurant, well it’s more of a bar with food but great food! Got the 2 course meal at € 18 bargain considering how much food their was. I had the potato skins(so filling) and gourmet burger served with chips and my friend had the soup of the day and beef dish! Was so good! Was real tasty and filling! amd the pavlova dessert was like air! That was extra to the two course but worth it!!! The staff were so friendly and helpful Sean was our waiter and he couldn’t have been nicer, noticed he seemed to know everyone their and was more like a host. Located upstairs above a pub, so I don’t think it’s wheelchair friendly and outside the main door is where the smokers of the pub go so that was a little unpleasant, the décor was a little dated but I would say acceptable for great pub grub! Would defiantly go again and would love to try the steak on the stone. It looks amazing!

The Watermill in Raheny is my local pub. I go most Thursdays for a couple of pints with some friends and you are always guaranteed a seat(except if a band is playing) The bar downstairs is pretty good for football and there are plenty of screens to watch from all corners. There is a lounge/restaurant upstairs which serves food Mon — Sun. Sundays are really nice for dinner — they have an excellent menu and it is very reasonably priced. The staff in the Watermill are very friendly and its one of the reasons I go so often.

The Watermill is actually much bigger inside than the two photos indicate, it’s probably the biggest pub in Raheny. Until recently, the pub was called the Green Dolphin or something like that, and it was a bit of a shithole and regarded as being quite rough. However, a change of owners and a bit of a face-lift has rendered it into a very decent drinking establishment. The Watermill, along with the nearby Station House, is one of pubs in the area where youngish folk might consider going on a Friday or Saturday night, when there’s a DJ or a band, never sure which night is which. I’ve been to The Watermill once of twice and it’s a grand little spot, but I wouldn’t make a habit of it. There’s nothing wrong with the place per se apart from the fact that it isn’t The Cedar Lounge, which shall always have first claim on my heart. So, if you’re in Raheny and for some reason are unwilling to stray beyond the village itself, The Watermill is a perfectly acceptable place to slake your thirst and who knows, you may really enjoy yourself. But for true pub excellence, you’ll have to go to St Assam’s and The Cedar Lounge.
