Stopped by here when passing through the town, for me, this really wasn’t a place I’d find myself regularly going to if I lived nearby.
There was a quite a few people in the lounge though the atmosphere, I dunno, I can’t put my finger on it but it definitely wasn’t welcoming, friendly or overly inviting. We sat on a high table to the back of the lounge but having people come in/​out from the smoking area got super annoying, people constantly bumping off my back and with not as much as a sorry plus draft coming in meant this lounge was actually a little chilly so didn’t make as a comfy cosy pub to chill out at
The barman was a bit of a grump, my husband tried to banter with him about the football on the TV and he just grunted then shuffled away… Eh, awkward! Cheer up dude
