Great historic pub used to be a grocer. Welcoming staff great pints and good food from roasts to more upscale items. It gets crowded with younger ones late. But is a great place before the rush

Excellent atmosphere, terrific food and awesome service. How can you ask for more? Our first trip to Ireland and we capped it off with a visit to many pubs and Knox’s tops the list! A place to visit if you base out if Ennis for the Cliffs of Moher!

Knox’s is an institution in Ennis. Great spot for a few drinks and lively at the weekend when they normally have a DJ (or band depends on the night). They also have big screens throughout the pub for matches.

Ce restaurant situé au dessus d’un pub est très sympathique, avec une décoration originale façon vieux entrepôt. La nourriture est bonne, non grasse et bien présentée. Concernant le serveur, il est très serviable et toujours souriant.
Le prix moyen d’un plat principal est aux environs de 16 – 23 €, très bon rapport qualité prix.

Great pub in downtown Ennis! I was visiting Ennis from the States and looking for a bar to watch the NFL playoffs and this was the place. I actually visited their FB page earlier in the day and sent them a message asking if they’d turn a TV to the game for me. They responded immediately that they would (and they did!). The bar was packed and they played great music and the crowd was a lot of fun. Easily as many ladies as gents and most were dressed to impress. I would highly recommend the place if you’re visiting Ennis! BTW — I also ate dinner there earlier in the day and the food was excellent.

We ate here our first night in Ireland. We were lost and pulled over at the first pub we could find. And luckily we found this one! It was the best food we had on our entire trip to Ireland. The service was wonderful. My husband had bangers and mash and I had the chicken vol-au-vont both were amazing! We loved it here!

We came here for dinner the evening before St. Patrick’s day at around 8pm, and it was pretty empty. The waiter seated us, and was very nice and helpful — knowledgeable about all the specials and the beers.
Our food came fairly quickly and was hot and delicious. It’s pretty reasonably priced, and the atmosphere was nice.

Knoxs is Ennis’s only late bar, staying open till 1.30 most nights. During the day they do reasonably priced food, plenty of space during the day too. Unlike nighttime! When it is busy this place can be compared to a cattle mart, nowhere to stand without being stood on and unable to talk because of the generic pub music been blasted out!

Knox’s is one of the more busier pubs in Ennis. I do call in on occasion to meet friends, but personally I don’t go for the busy trendy types of places, which this place really is. The staff are nice and the drinks aren’t too pricey. I say they have a great lunch every day and that the upstairs restaurant is also very good, but the pub itself is more of a trendy upscale venue rather than a quite local which I usually prefer.

This is a pretty nice bar, it appears to be a favorite with the locals. Everyone was very nice and our servers were great. Drinks were reasonable. To echo another review, the toilets were roped off when we arrived. I’m not sure why.
