a friend and I stopped on for a quick bite on our way through town. After sitting down we asked if we were supposed to order at the front or the table, the waitress said the table. But then she never brought us menus. Once we got the menu and ordered a couple meals, tea, and coffee it took forever for the tea and coffee to get to the table. Even when they did arrive they were served at different times about the same times the meals were served. Anyway, overall we weren’t impressed with service but the food was decent. At least the full Irish breakfast had hashbrowns which was nice.

Good food. Well presented and served. Would definitely go back. Nice staff. We had a table beside an open fireplace which was lovely on a damp December day.

They have a lovely barista, and make delicious lattes. The scones are out of this world. We also had a full Irish breakfast — it was good, but the sausages/puddings were a little well done. But it was very tasty. The atmosphere is really nice and comfortable. The staff is very friendly. I would definitely come back.

Kingfisher is one of many busy cafes in the lovely Wicklow village of Enniskerry that we had not tried. It’s a nice brightly laid out café, what includes an open fireplace and we managed to nab the table right next to it — score! The service was very attentive and the food came in good time. However the food was just meh. The chips were meh and the ketchup not good. All the hot food(apart from the soup) on the menu appeared to be deep fried. Is it wrong that I want to bring my favourite ketchup around with me in my handbag? ;)

Staying at the Powerscourt and stopped in here while we waited for our delayed luggage to show up at the hotel. I ordered the«all day breakfast» which was a massive helping of 1 egg, 2 slabs of bacon, black & white Irish pudding, baked beans, hash brown, mushrooms, toast & sausage. Oh, also comes with tea or coffee all for about 10 euro so great deal! Service was very friendly and the outdoor atmosphere was cute and comfortable. Would return!

I’ve grabbed coffee here several times in the past few weeks as I explored the Enniskerry area. It’s a tiny little place inside with a generous awning and seating outside, so you can sit outside and listen to the rain as you read a book. It’s a great place to keep an eye on the bus stop across the square to see when the driver fires up his engine to head back to Dublin. The food is really basic, but the ham and cheese croissant is a good value, with about kilo of cheese in it. They put pillows and blankets on their rather austere aluminum patio chairs, which makes for both a comfy and homey sitting, and I’ve noticed several tables full of aul’ fella’s smoking their pipes and having a cuppa as they natter away of a Saturday morning. Interesting Side Note: They don’t have a toilet for customers, but a short walk away is the cleanest public toilet I’ve ever seen, one of those stand-alone ones that self-sterilizes. RIGHT next to that, is the Ploughmans’ Corner, home to the marker celebrating the 1964 European Ploughing Champion. Bottom Line: Ah, the local lads. Always up for a good ploughing…
