The G Counter

Great place for brunch in Galway!!! Went there a couple of times — tried their sandwiches, burgers and salads!
Everything is very delicious, only downside is the service! Food takes quite long until it’s arrives, most of the time there are things missing like cutlery or just table water. If they improve the service and maybe add a person to their staff they will do great!

I love this café, it’s right beside the G hotel near the Eye cinema and they have a lot on the menu, and have some great coffee too!
The inside is really big and spacious with lots of tables making it great for large groups, and well lit with the large windows. They also sell goods like honey, chocolate, biscuits, oats, various sauces and teas, oil etc. They also have a refrigerated section for coconut water and soft drinks.
I love the salads here, and they have a lot of healthy stuff too in addition to the sandwiches, burgers etc. The breakfast is served from 9am-​5pm, and the pancakes are the best! The lunch menu has a good amount of fish dishes, like fish cakes, salmon burger, salad… And a few vegetarian stuff too albeit quite limited, but the tofu salad is really nice! There’s also a roast menu, side orders, burger and sandwich menu.
The coffee here is made to perfection! I loved the flat white here, which is served in a glass instead of a cup. You can also have it with soya or coconut milk for an extra 30 cent.
The prices are pretty average; expect to pay at least about € 9 – 12 per person for a main. The soup changes daily and is 4.95, and there’s also seafood chowder. Compared to the more pricy G hotel, the G counter is nice cheaper lunch alternative for a quick bite!
