This place feels like home. Great food, good stout, friendly service, laid back atmosphere, live music every night, right at the foothills of the mountains.

Great place. We were worried it was going to be a tourist trap. but were happy to see a lot of locals the night we went. Lots of live music and a fun atmosphere. Menu is full of hearty comfort food.

After a long walk through the Gap of Dunloe, the banoffee pie was extremely welcome, and it was delicious! It was very nicely presented and had a cookie crust. Perfect amount of sweetness and a big heap of fresh whipped cream on top. I practically ate it with three spoonfuls and was tempted to get another. I highly recommend getting the pie at the end(or start) of your journey!

This place was perfect for a bit of R&R after a horse ride through the beautiful Gap of Dunloe. Lots of space to move around, in contrast to a lot of pokey Irish pubs, and a good selection of traditional and contemporary Irish fare. I had the smoked salmon followed by the bangers and mash and both were excellent.

The food here was very good! I wasn’t a fan of the vegetable soup, but others really enjoyed it. I’m a huge fan of their stuffed turkey(the sauce was awesome) and their Bailey’s cheesecake was terrific — light & airy; the best dessert I’ve had in Ireland. The music entertainment was good and the musicians offered tutorials on the different instruments they played. During the 2nd half of their show they encouraged audience members to volunteer & sing for the crowd. The dancers were good & also offered simple dance instruction to those willing. I’m giving this 4⁄5 stars b/c the seating was not organized great. I was stuck in the furthest corner & consequently didn’t see the musicians or dancers play/dance(unless I was standing up). Get there early for the best seating!

Kate Kearney’s has live music and traditional Irish dancing most nights, and it lends itself to a really fun and energetic atmosphere. The food is also pretty solid; the bangers and mash is massive with three sausages(compared to two, normally) and a supremely-tasty gravy dousing the whole affair. Most other dishes are similarly engorged and at the usual Irish pub prices, e.g. ~10−15EUR for most mains. Get there early(7pm or earlier) if you want a good spot for the dancing, which occurs in the back room.

The food was excellent – I had the lamb shank, and it was delicious. But the best part of the restaurant is the traditional Irish music and dancing!
