I have been nicely surprised by here lately. Used to walk by it but drooling over a colleagues pulled pork and sweet coleslaw made me go it this time. Glad I did now. They do a range of hot food including lasagne, paella, chicken for example and pulled pork and beef brisket sambos. They also have amazing talking brownies that keep asking me to take them but I have been strong but not sure how long I can last. They also had a peanut butter cappuccino advertised a while back. Comon, it’s hard enough lads!

Quality of food is very good. However, the value for money is terrible! Extremely small quantities. € 3.50 for two poached eggs. Prices displayed incorrectly when I went in and was over charged had to tell them can only charge the price that is displayed under law.

Magnifique!

Truly delightful lunch spot! Escaping the rain, a colleague and I were looking for a rather quick(but nice, non fast food) lunch. Liberte certainly came through! I had the Croque Madame sandwich(brilliant) which was accompanied by a fresh side salad, and for good measure also ordered the Thai sweet potato soup. Perfect combo on a rainy day. Served quickly(via our Uno card marker!), made fresh and I was very satisified. They also have an endearing selection of crisps. Not wanting to leave without a follow-up, we opted for some coffees to go and to split the chocolate marshmallow bar(pictured below), which was actually even better than it looked. Don’t skip the sweets, people. Never. The prices seemed reasonable, they run a few specials, and the service was lovely. I’ll definitely return next time I’m in the area, as our office is just across the way.

Not quite as French as I expected, considering how it’s marketed, but the food is nice and the staff are lovely. I wouldn’t mind having it as a local lunch option, but I wouldn’t seek it out either.

Love the interior, love the staff and wow to the food! I had no idea this place existed until Unilocal told me so. Well played Unilocal, well played — you did yourself proud, because the food here is delicious. I had a pulled pork ciabatta style sandwich with Emmental chees, sautéed onions and Dijon mustard. I couldn’t eat it in Liberte as I was on the run, and I think it’s probably better that way as the sounds I was making eating the sandwich were just sinful! It was simply the most moreish sandwich I have ever had. Hands down. The pork was so juicy and tender and the two fat slices of pungent Emmental were just right. I love that they use Uno cards to call you for your takeaway order(love this game!), just don’t do what I did and out it in your wallet along with your change! Great for working meaty sandwich lover heads, try something different for lunch heads, and I love it when staff and food make me smile at lunch giving you a boost for the rest of the day heads!

Lovepasta became Liberte over night. There was a bit of a renovation, but the staff look to be the same and menu is very similar. Word from around the office was it was more or less the same, but the name changed and the prices went up. All that being said I had missed out on a Unilocal event here that celebrated Bastille Day, as we were on our holibobs. The feedback from that event looked very positive, so I decided to give Liberte a go. I opted for a pasta dish and went for the Green Carbonara, which according to the menu would have courgette and onion in it. But it didn’t, just penne pasta and sauce. It was quite cheesy too, they are generous with the cheese. It was tasty, but I wish it had the veg I was expecting. I was back at my desk by the time I realised this and I didn’t have the time to go back with it. Here second time today I went for the Bolognese with whole meal fusilli. It’s quite tasty as well. The staff were nice on both occasions and the food came out quick. The new layout seems to work much better as well.

Tucked away under an archway of the old railway station on Harcourt street, this hidden gem is great little location for a french restaurant, evocative of a Parisian metro station albeit a little more rugged! We were welcomed by the amazingly friendly maître d’(possibly manager?) who was nothing short of charming. Actually all the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. He briefed us on the Bastille Day tasting options and off we went… The food? Délicieux! I started with a peach apéritif and some bread based amuse-bouche. Then it was onto the hot food — tasters of beef bourguignon, potato gratin, french onion soup, escargots, ratatouille, quiche, croque monsieur and french sausage. The croque was the nicest I’ve tried and I had to go back for seconds on the gratin because I am a fiend for a cheesy potato dish. I finished with a nutella crêpe and a lemon drizzle bite. It’s safe to say I walked away from Liberté extremely contented and I’d certainly be back for some french fromage goodness!

Délicieux. Somptueux. Décadent Just some of the adjectives that I would use to describe the food at Liberté! Accueillant, Bien Informé Other adjectives to describe the staff. Ok, so everyone was in a jovial mood; it was Bastille Day after all and the French know how to throw a party. We were first greeted with a lovely cocktail and then invited to try many of the hors d’oeuvres that were on the main table. I loved the cheese with fig on baguette. Also the pâté on toast. Then there was a hot service, including sausages, gratin, beef bourguignon(why can’t I spell this properly?), French onion soup. All lovely and seemingly authentic. And dessert. Little cakes; Lemon, chocolate fudge and I think there was a carrot cake. Very nice evening. And for those that work nearby, I bet it’s a great place to eat a quick and tasty lunch. The prices look right. The food is obviously great quality. And the staff and super nice. Merci!

Had a wonderful night here for Bastille day, tasty treats such as French onion soup and garlic mushrooms, as well as a veggie bake and mussels were on offer for those who don’t eat meat, which was something of a surprise as I have never done so well with food choices in France! All delicious. There was also a cold snacks selection with tiny sandwiches, chesses, salads and breads, including a creamy cheese spread that tasted like my childhood summers in France, it was only missing a hot mug of Chocco! It is an ideal place to pop into if you are working in the area, but does not open late or weekends, so there is little opportunity to try it if you are not local, luckily I’m in the process of decamping to Stephens Green, and will make a point of popping in! They also offer a very varied catering service, with unusual events, such as food fights, now to convince the boss…

Good place to enjoy some good French food. I was here today to try some of their new menu– French onion soup, bread with olive spread, ratatouille, garlic mushrooms were tasty among other things. Also liked cocktail based on rose wine and peach liquor. They close at 8 pm. Not so convenient if you are looking for a long evening outing. Also they are open Monday to Friday for now. But this is a good place to try something new, they have a variety of food to offer yet they are not expensive.

Om nom nom. We attended the Bastille day celebration and it was great! We were greeted at the door by a very friendly member of staff who instantly made us feel welcome. We were encouraged to try everything and I am glad we did! There were little sandwiches and nibbles. My favourite had dill cream cheese and lemon on it. I am such a sucker for dill and could have eaten my own body weight in that cheese. We had some delicious wine and peach/blackberry cocktails with cheese pastries. Yum. I felt a little better when asking for ‘a little bit of everything’ at the hot food counter when I was informed that everyone else had done the same. The ham and cream potatoes, beef stew, mussels in a milky sauce, French onion soup, ham and bechamel toastie… Just yum. Had to go for seconds. Will certainly be back!

I really like this place! The food is amazing! What I like the most is the ratatouille(original French one without coriander! Finally). Their stew is sublime! I definitely high recommend this place, bon 14 Juillet!

Liberté is the alternative place to have great tasty food at an affordable price with style. Location is handy, just few minutes from Harcourt Luas stop and 10 minutes walking from Grafton Street. The area around is «breathable» and safe from dodgy neighborhoods :-) I had the occasion to be invited for their Bastille Day tasting their food. What I liked the most is the quiche Lorraine, stew and French sausages. A bit disappointed with their mussels as the ones I got were still with their byssus or byssal thread. Not sure if in the French cuisine you leave it but both in Irish and Italian you usually remove it before cooking it. ;-) Cakes were amazing. I tried the lemon cake, chocolate fudge and the carrot cake. All fantastic. Wines and Aperitifs really good too. They make also Crepes, I recommend too. Place is clean and tidy. As usual I checked the toilet that was in perfect condition. On the overall I am satisfied with this place and I think I will stop by another time when I am in town. ====Event The Bastille Day===== Talking about the event The Bastille Day with Liberté, I feel the music was little bit too loud, so difficult to have a proper conversation without raise the voice. Also I would have appreciated to meet the manager or the person in charge and know more about this business. This usually improve the customer’s engagement. All the staff were polite and had extra caring of their guest, but I don’t understand why some people where served at their table while my and my wife had to go fetching the food :-) Also some people got a proper ceramic dish while others like us got a disposable paper dish. I think this can create a sort of different level of attention to customers and to the details. Probably I have noticed this but another one wouldn’t have noticed. Again, this is related only with this event not with the normal running of the business, which I strongly recommend.

I like this place. I like it a lot. This is the old ‘Love Pasta’ location and concept, completely revamped and restyled to be unrecognisable and very very current. They’ve got stripped back long wooden benches, a slick black /neutral colour scheme, loadsa those über-trendy hanging lightbulbs, and the menu written on blackboards, as it changes from week to week. I like this idea — a ‘plat du jour’ — meaning plate of the day, every day, something different. This can be anything from Jamaican jerk chicken to cottage pie or Toulouse sausage & mash.(I had a taste of this and it was immense — melted cheese on top too. Is there ANYTHING melted cheese cannot make even better!!!) To sum up, we’re talking savage food, for some savage value, super friendly staff, and very very cool décor. What’s not to love. A point to note is that they are only open Monday — Friday, so if you get any French cravings on a weekend, you’ll have to satisfy them elsewhere!

Went into Liberte for lunch today and it was really good. I went for the ‘grab & go’ offer which is described as ‘the finest French food in a baguette’. ‘Le Normand’ came stuffed with French brie, chicken & cranberry. Yum! The baguette was so fresh and crunchy and reminded me of holidays in France! It comes with a bottle of water for a fiver, so great deal all up.

I had a very good first experience in Liberte today. I chose to make my own sandwich(sourdough bread, roast chicken, chorizo and brie toasted) and wash it down with a can of coke. I liked the simple ordering system and the fact that the monetary transaction is done up front so no need to request a bill. My sandwich was dropped down to me promptly and was delicious. I ate with a companion and we both enjoyed the setting despite it being a little bit ‘hip to the groove’. There seems to be quite a wide variety on the menu too. Will definitely be back soon to try more.
