This place is not what you would expect. It looks like a quirky little place — though even that is a bit of an illusion, since they have an upstairs which doubles their seating. What this place really is is a gourmet experience at a very reasonable price. I had a three course meal, the main being the duck and it was an unbelievable experience. It’s hard to describe, you really have to go there with an open mind and try it for yourself. And you won’t regret it. The staff is nice and friendly, and were very accommodating when I went there with a large group of largely indecisive people — some of them with special diet and taste needs. I don’t give out a lot of five stars, and this is the first time I say this: I wish I could give Camden Kitchen six.

Very cute intimate restaurant just off Camden Street, this place instantly impressed me with it’s cosy dinning room. The staff were quick to great and before I knew it we had drinks on the way and our food order was in! Excited has they pics on their Unilocal page had my mouth watering all day leading up to eating here. It did not disappoint, great food which was prepared fantastic and presented with such style and elegance. I love attention to detail with how a plate is served and they show a great love for the food. Lovely atmosphere in here, felt you could easy unwind after dinner for awhile without feeling the need to quickly vacate the table. Perfectly cooked food with great flavours in a very inviting restaurant. Would highly recommend this place to others,

Food done right! Perfectly cooked, great flavor, fancy without any pretentious frills. Great staff, lovely atmosphere. A small menu but definitely something for everyone, well thought with a nice range of proteins and veggie options. I got the soup for the starter, mushroom, which had very little flavor, but that was the only thing I didn’t like. For the main I got the chicken leg, and I’ve honestly never had chicken so moist or tender in my entire life. It literally fell off the bone! Perfectly seasoned, excellent sides, such a delicious meal. For dessert I got the crème brûlée which was heavenly! Not a sugary, soupy mess like most restaurants, instead it had almost a flan texture to it, very smooth and not overly sweet at all. The top was so crispy and cracked as you broke into it… perfection. And such a big portion! Couldn’t finish it, which I still regret. Left absolutely stuffed. The mulled wine is also fab, so delicious and makes you realize just how terrible the cheap market ones are! Great ambience, intimate and cozy, would definitely go back for a date night. We were a big group for lunch and everyone loved their meal. It’s a place I’d be excited to go back to, to try something different from the menu, knowing it will always be delicious.

Great recommendation by Emily to celebrate my beau’s birthday here! We availed of the X’mas lunch set menu, very reasonably priced at € 25 for 3 courses — every dish was executed very well with a strong emphasis on local organic ingredients. Lunch for 2 + 2 bubbly + carafe of red = € 100 including tips! A tiny irk was when I mentioned my reservation upon arrival, the Maître d did not check the book and insisted on asking the no. of diners. What’s the bleeding point of making a reservation then?!

Camden Kitchen is pretty small, the tables are close together but there’s a really nice feel to it so I’m not complaining. The couple beside us were almost finishing up and when they saw what we’d ordered they told us it was excellent! :) For starters I chose chicken liver parfait with brioche toast and plum chutney. The parfait was melt in the mouth. Fiancé chose haddock croquettes with salmon sashimi, a beetroot purée and celeriac sauce. For main course I went with the Hake served with clams, risotto and braised scallions. He chose the special — Wicklow pheasant which came with cauliflower purée and Jerusalem artichoke. Both dishes were cooked perfectly! Consumed two bottles of red wine but now to my favourite part… Dessert. I had chocolate brownie which came with chocolate brownie ice-cream. OMG — food heaven! Fiancé got the orange Madeleines which came with Cointreau ice-cream. I got coffee with mine and he got a glass of Muscat. Just writing about the food is making me want to go back even though the cleaver on the wall above the kitchen is a tad unnerving!

This was almost a 5 so let’s start with why it didn’t make the cut. Service, in general the service was good but it was at times slow. The specials were not explained and we had to ask for water. When pouring the wine our waitresses dribbled it down the glass and onto the table. One of the wine glasses had a stain around the rim. Picky yes probably but these are pretty basic things to get right. Now for the good stuff. The food was excellent and it is clear their is allot of passion that goes into each dish. The pheasant special for example was cooked perfectly and my smoked haddock and Salmon starter was a mix of fresh sashimi, smoked salmon amd a warm croquette. Desert like the rest of the meal was a real treat especially the Madeleines. The wine list is not very extensive but what they do have is well priced. One other hood point they don’t rush you so you don’t feel under pressure which given the service is just as well I would not hesitate in coming back here again.

I had no idea it even existed until a friend who is also a Unilocaler posted some pictures of the amazing looking food and I knew I had to try it. It’s right off of Camden Street but is completely unassuming… hidden in plain sight and what a hidden gem it is. I didn’t know how busy they would be on a Thursday night so I called to book a reservation and they had the time I wanted open which was already a good sign. We arrived and the restaurant was packed but our table was waiting for us, calling us over. The décor is super simple and it doesn’t look impressive but I never judge a book by its cover. Once looking over the menu, I was blown away. Everything looked good and I knew I just couldn’t have it all. I knew I wanted to save a bit of room for dessert so I decided to share a starter. I split the fish cakes with my partner which were absolutely delicious. The perfect amount crispy, not too squishy and the beetroot purée complimented the dish just perfectly. It was the perfect amount for a light starter. For the main, I had my heart set on either the duck confit or the hake with parmesan rissotto so I ordered both… of course to split :) The duck confit was the best I’ve ever had. It was so flavorful, crisp on the outside and the fat was seared perfectly and the meat inside was still juicy and flavorful. The pairing of the lentils with carrots and bacon was just perfect for the overall flavor. I only had a bite of the hake with the parm riosotto as my partner liked it equally as much. We nearly licked the plates clean. With 2 courses this tasty, I knew the dessert would be equally as delicious and when I see a chocolate brownie with ice cream I can never pass. The brownie was warm and crumbled when you put your fork into it. The food was so good and the service was so spot on that I forgot all of the hustle and bustle around us and felt like I was the only one in the restaurant. I can’t wait to come back and try a few more things that caught my eye on the menu!

Great food and really good value. My fiancée had chicken liver pâté and the salmon, i had the terrine and the beef cheek and we shared a bottle of red and it was under € 100. The one issue was the service(i’ve knocked a star off as a result). We were left for ages when we arrived without being checked on, taking a drink order, putting some water on the table etc. Every time we wanted something it took ages to get the waiter’s attention. It’s not a huge place and there were plenty of people there. It didn’t detract from the food though, so we’ll definitely be back!

The wine selection here is amazing, and the highlight of a meal which also featured amazing food. I’m not much of a drinker but I love a good red wine. The cab we ordered was amazing with the moussed goats cheese starters omnomnomermehgahd. The steak was delicious, cooked exactly to order and the service was brilliant, so discreet but effective. The perfect Christmas dinner. Thank you Camden Kitchen!

This place is ace. First of all I suggested this place to my friend after I noticed a groupon deal that was good value and noticed that Unilocalers loved this place. So of course I had to go judge this with my fellow hardcore Unilocaler. It’s just off Camden on a bright unassuming(small street). There is blue awning with a cleaver logo and has a couple smal tables outside. We walked in after it started pouring rain on us and were offered napkins to dab ourselves dry with.(Nice touch). The establishment itself is small but more dining tables are upstairs. The toilets are TINY and cramped… If you have claustrophobia I suggest you hold it… Anyhow on to the food… Oh wow… I was BLOWN away. They bring a slice of bread to stave off hunger pangs. I started off with the salmon tartare while my fellow Unilocaler got the crab salad. Both were fresh and delish. The samphire served on the crab salad were crisp tender & full of flavor. A perfect way to start off our meal. For our main I ordered the steak cuz… Well I love steak and they don’t charge a supplement for it! It was served with sautéed Cremini(?) mushrooms and spinach with a mushroom gnocchi which at first I mistook for sausages. The steak comes with some jus of some sort. The entire plate was demolished. Really, the steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the sides it came with were phenomenal.(Get the sautéed potatoes!!!) My waist line is complaining but my taste buds were singing. Seriously… So. Good. My companion ordered the duck leg which was dry in certain parts but the lentils it was served on were spot on. The texture was perfect and once again it wasn’t lacking in flavor. We had to get dessert.5 spice chocolate fondant and lemon poppyseed madelines were our choices and we didn’t go wrong. I loved my madelines. Crispy, chewy, delicate yet rich. Drool. The chocolate fondant? AMAZEBALLS!!! I got the honor of breaking it open and the chocolates gooey ness was overflowing. I can’t fault this place. The chefs were working hard in the kitchen as it filled up quickly and the waitstaff were pretty on the ball. I’ll definitely be back. Don’t walk… Run there. Your taste buds will thank you.

Oh my, oh my, I was lucky enough to get to come here to dine more the 2times on my trip to Dublin. I guess we really liked it! We did! Even though there are so many different restaurants to try, this was one of our favorites. Everything we ordered was good, every time. Some times dishes were better than good they were fantastic. Oh of all things, the best to me was the chicken. Now I am not a big chicken eater either. I can take it or leave it, but this was so good. I could taste the difference, now a antibiotic, hormone laded chicken. But, it tasted fresh and normal, like it had lived a chemical free life. Sounds strange to you in Ireland, but if you ate chicken in the States you would know exactly what I was talking about. Love it, I think you should give it a try as well.

I went here with a large group for a 3 course meal. I went for the the crabmeat and little chicken wings starter, the duck leg for mains and a citrus crème brûlée for dessert. The starter was tasty enough with the teeniest chicken wings ever. The duck was cooked nicely as it was moist but very salty and it is my belief that citrus and cream just don’t go so I would have preferred the traditional style of crème brûlée myself. All in all it was a lovely dining experience though and the staff were lovely :)

Camden kitchen is a great little resturant. Its a fine dining experience and the prices do reflect this however. I have been a couple of times. The resturant is nice and the staff are friendly. In regards to the food my experience has been that the starters are good, the main courses very good but the deserts are just great. I had a choclate fondant here and it was the best desert I had ever had, since then we have tried some others as well and they were just as good. So my advice, even if you are not a desert person(which I am not) try the deserts here and if you only want two courses skip the starters,

After seeing this place open and then glance at it occasionally during my day-to-day life, I finally made the effort and we went to the Camden Kitchen last Friday night… and I’m so glad we did. The starter I got was fine, black pudding croquettes. My partner got the smoked duck and thought it was fine too. But it was with the mains that things started to go up a notch. I went for the Ox Cheeks and it was divine, melt in your mouth. My partner went for the Skate Wing and he loved it. Me, I thought it was too fishy, but I’m weird like that(yes, I know, but some fish I just find too fishy!). Also, special mention to the green veg side with pesto dressing, it was pleasantly yummy. Finally the desserts, this is when I reached heaven. The crème brûlée was, I expect, what all crème brûlée should be like. I’ve ordered crème brulees in the past and have never been set alight by them. But this one rocked. But my partners chocolate fondant. oh the fondant… lets just say I am definitely ordering that next time I go back. Flipping sensual… Wine was grand, Pinot Grigio. Décor very nice too, not too squished for a small venue. Two negatives though, it did get cold very quick whenever the entrance was used(and we were not even at the table beside the door). Oh also, the ladies toilets was cramped. But seeing as you are at a restaurant to eat and not to go to the toilet, I don’t see why I should drop a star because of these…

Sometimes you picture me I’m walking too far ahead You’re calling to me, I can’t hear what you’ve said Then you say — go slow — I fall behind the second hand unwinds We were sat promptly and as I perused the menu Cyndi Lauper’s classic ballad began playing. From that moment, I knew we were in for a good meal. And not only because of the stellar song selections! A bottle of red wine, cauliflower soup and a free range chicken breast later, I could easily see why Camden Kitchen is my companion’s favourite Dublin dinner haunt. Oh, but we hadn’t had dessert yet! My chocolate mousse and raspberry sorbet was not only creatively presented with a bird-shaped pastry in a glass jar, it was the sweet ending I’d hoped for. From service to selection, I’d say the Camden Kitchen has a lot going right for it. My only tiny beef was with some rather odd spicing in the soup and the potato purée. I felt the soup could have been brightened up a bit, it was slightly flat tasting. Still, I’d return to this neighbourhood favourite without hesitation. If you’re lost you can look – and you will find me Time after time If you fall I will catch you – I’ll be waiting Time after time
