Lovely little restaurant with the most friendly staff. The lobster bisque was divine — not what I ordered so I had to keep discretely helping myself when my dining companion looked away! We ended up chatting away to our neighbouring table, a local gentleman, who treats himself to a meal here. He knows good food!

We thoroughly enjoyed our long awaited trip to the Ring of Kerry and a highlight was this charming and delicious restaurant. Marion, our server, was excellent. She was attentive without being overbearing and had wonderful descriptions of the food and excellent suggestions for our meal. For an appetizer, I chose the soup of the day a delicious cream vegetable with very«different» seasonings which made it taste DELICIOUS. I was tempted to order another bowl, but fortunately did not as the Seafood Gratin Fruits de Mer was rich, delicious, and simply the best entrée I had in Ireland,(although the B&B’s breakfasts were wonderful, too!). We asked to speak to the Chef and Owner, Aileen, to praise and thank her for the wonderful meal. Although she was still very busy in the kitchen, she made time to chat with us-lovely lady, lovely restaurant. Don’t pass this by-you’ll love it as much as we did.

Absolutely fantastic, fresh seafood and worth every penny. The prawn starter was absolutely delicious and the cod I had for my main was also delicious and perfectly cooked. Flawless pleasant and friendly service made it a real winner too, we felt so relaxed and welcome from the minute we went in. Go there and you won’t regret it!

Our host Pat from Avelow B&B recommended Tom Cream’s because we wanted good oysters. We got to the restaurant around 7pm & without reservations but the girls sat us anyway. I think it’s best to make reservations just FYI. I ordered 6 natural oysters for 12 €. They were fresh and perfectly salty. Definitely worth the $$. We also ordered a beer 4 € and glass of Chardonnay 6.50 €. I ordered the sea bass and my friend order the roasted pork. My sea bass was two smaller fish on top of a squash purée and served with a side of boiled potatoes with dill, carrots and a pickled red cabbage(I think). It was very good and filling. The pork roast was very tender. It was served with mash potatoes and a side of apple sauce. Both dishes were lovely. The décor was very trendy and sea inspired. Very cool that the owners based the restaurant on the Irish explorer Tom Crean who came from Kerry. He was a great Antarctic explorer during the early 1900s. I felt welcomed even though it was a fancy restaurant and I had my Havaianas on my feet. People started streaming in and were dressed up. The servers were very tentative and sweet. It would be a perfect spot for a romantic dinner. They also have an early bird special before 6:30pm that read 2 course meal for 21 €(would be great if that included a house beer or wine). Overall, great little place for a fancier dinner. Definitely go for the oysters! The seafood was delicious.

We enjoyed our dinner and wine very much. They had a very nice menu and the staff was very attentive. We ate at Packies and it could not hold a candle to this place. I would recommend it and be sure to get an appetizer as well.
