Great bar with ton’s of space and drink choices. Multiple rooms, plenty of space to socialize and and even some sports. The staff is super friendly as well. Their cocktail menu looks sort of small and cheesy, just ask them for what you are looking and they will take care of you.

Really beautiful space, lots of windows that open up in warm weather, great lighting, free wifi, central location, I could go on. Beer selection is pretty much the same as the rest of Ireland(Guinness, Smithwicks, Heineken, Carlsberg), but everything else adds up. Agreed with other reviewer that if this place were in NYC, it would have a line for blocks.

This is by far one of the nicest looking bars I’ve been to. Multiple levels, posh décor. Dressy. Good music. One thing — from the Vancouverite’s perspective — that I loved about Kilkenny clubbing… no line ups.(Not sure if it’s like this in bigger cities like Dublin). Having lined up in the cold and rain of Vancouver, also the minus x celsius in Toronto back«in the day», made me appreciate being able to walk in to a club without freezing my buns off. Yet another high point in Ireland. Miss that place! Left Bank was a highlight as far as night life is concerned. Must go.

Awesome atmosphere! Great place for drinks at night. Many little nooks and crannies for dates and loads of wide open spaces for groups. Bartenders are friendly and helpful. Music overhead was great. Lighting was dim and the overall vibe was very trendy. I wish there was dancing, but it’s not that kind of place. We stayed until closing which i believe was about 1:30AM. No food options around at that time though if you are hungry. Definitely stop by for some late night drinks!

Stopped in on our honeymoon bar crawl and was very impressed! Super awesome bar! Was super crowded so the service was not all that great, however the atmosphere made up for it. Once a drink is in your hands, just enjoy all that is!

Stopped here for lunch and had the chicken and chili panini and the ham and cheese panini. Both were very good. We also had a very good chocolate cake. The food was good and the service was pleasant. This place has several bars on different levels and outdoor seating. Looks like it would be a fun place at night. The bathrooms are up several steps or a lift.

More lounge/club. Less of a pub. Decent drinks and service. Great chic atmosphere and décor. Would be a great club out here in LA/NYC. Huge with multiple floors. Though when we came it was the middle of the week around 6pm so no club and music. Can’t say much for that. But plenty of seating for people(even if there were more then the 15 scattered around the place). Yes it does take a bit of a trek to get to the bathroom.

I spent New Years Eve at Left Bank and had a great time. The place is gigantic and offers different rooms to dance, mingle, relax or to have a nice quiet chat. The crowd were mostly young working professionals, well educated and quite a few tourists from Dublin or the West Coast of Ireland. Their bartenders were not ones to chat much with the customers but they were pretty quick with making drinks which was good. No coat check unfortunately but plenty of places to stash your coat away. I liked the ambiance as it had the vibe of being inside a castle.

The Left Bank is definitely a bar rather than a pub, but it isn’t too bar-ish for those of us that prefer pubs(one of the ways that you can tell it’s a bar is that it’s bathed in red light. Stylish!). Left Bank would be a very good spot to go if you were on a date with a lovely young lady(as I was). One thing that could put me off, though: a lot of the seating was tables and high stools, and I don’t like to sit with my feet not touching the ground. It’s just a thing, I mean you can’t be properly relaxed if you can’t put your feet on the ground or lean back, can you? Anyway, we were on one of the fairly numerous leather couches, so it wasn’t really an issue. One drawback of Left Bank is the toilets. It’s not that they are unsanitary or anything(I couldn’t tell you; I’ve never been), just their accessibility. My companion for the evening excused herself, and didn’t return for the better part of 20 minutes. I’m sure that a great many of you will be able to relate to this, but I’m always unsure of what to do while waiting for a girl to return from the bathroom and/or a cigarette. Take out your phone and mess around with it, observe the décor, etc. When the young lady in question returned, she was all apologies, explaining that you had to get a freakin’ lift and go through some warren of rooms in order to spend a penny. We were leaving shortly after, and even though I could have used a tinkle, I wasn’t going to risk becoming lost along the tortuous journey and leaving this poor unfortunate girl stranded in the wilds of Kilkenny, so I tied a mental knot and we proceeded on to the next stop along our itinerary. Very good spot, though, minor convenience-related inconveniences aside.

This is a relatively new place, open about a year or so. The building itself used to be the old Bank of Ireland building and has been polished up into this stylish-looking bar. A great place to go for mid-week after work drinks when it’s not too busy or for a coffee during the day. The staff are exceptionally friendly and the smoking area is heated and has a retractable roof so is perfect for all weathers. It doesn’t yet have a late license and on weekends there is a dress code so be advised to wear proper shoes! Tends to gets very crowded on a Saturday night so get in early if you want to get a seat.
