John O’Leary is a genius. I have not known a lot of people to run to Ireland for the cuisine but now there is a reason to. Wholesome Fayre is right in the middle of town and wonderful for any meal. Always fresh and made with such care and love. Not only did we make numerous stops over the days that we spent in Killarney but we also had our rehearsal dinner there. They closed the entire restaurant for our family and friends and introduced about 40 people to what Irish food can really be. Look out France and Italy! You now have a contender! Thanks again John! Well done.

Stopped in for take away while driving through Ireland. So good. Got the ham sandwich and samosa. Followed by the pear tart and lemon meringue. Really good.

Ok, I know I said 10am, but it was more 9:50. They took in the weary traveller anyway and brought me an Americano straight away. Chef whipped up some brioche French toast and bacon(ham) for me and I was in heaven. They even have a deli and bakery attached, which of course I couldn’t resist. A couple of chocolat au pain and you guessed it, another Americano for the road. Definitely made my trip to Killarney worth while. That and The Ring of Kerry.

We are in Killarney for 2 days and needed some quick breakfast before heading out for the day. This place had wonderful ambience, fresh Americano’s and the best oats I’ve ever had for only 3 euros! Yum yum. I think I’ll pop back again before we depart.

Great to see a good eatery in Killarney that provides decent freshly produced food. How am I the first person to review this place?! And how was I the person to add it to Unilocal?!Madness. It’s been here almost a year according to the waitress. The ambience is nice and décor is great. It has that urban brasserie feel about it.(I don’t know if that’s how it’s officially described but I like it) Open and spacious. They also sell a lot of produce from cakes to cheeses and wines. There’s a menu along with some specials and another chalk board of appetising looking grub. There’s a craft beer menu if you like beer. So far I’ve tried the seafood chowder which I loved as it wasn’t overly salty or creamy, some of the side salads, a coffee and a strawberry sponge cake. Today I’ve tried the monkfish scampi(yes I’ve been here 3 days in a row but Killarney hasn’t got many if any places like This) The monkfish scampi was… delicious. If you’re in Killarney, get here quick!
