Nice neighborhood spot by kilmainham jail. Had the pulled pork sandwich and a coffee. Both were lovely. Came on the motorbike and was able to park up outside it on the very large pavement. Will be back again for sure.

Great little café next to Hilton and Kilmainham gaol. Great selection of tea. I had lemon grass ginger. They let us smell the tea leaves of some of the different types of teas. Coffee was excellent too. Salted Carmel latte was delicious. Will go back again.

As a local resident of Inchicore I am so happy to have such a wonderful eatery on our doorstep. Great tasting and imaginative sandwiches with a small salad on the side. Wonderful prices too. Also have to say the coffee is great too. After a visit to the jail this is the perfect spot. I hope they continue to succeed because we love having them here. All my neighbours love this place too

Back in the day, when I lived in the apartments opposite the Kilmainham Gaol and most commercial spaces there were unoccupied, I always thought to myself: someone should really open a little café here. And then, a few years later, someone did. I stopped by a few times in the last few weeks, service was friendly enough but not overly so and it was always busy. They have a couple of tables outside which are in high demand as they get the sun pretty much all day. I never had food here but I love their Suki teas. Try it if you are in the area.

Popped in by chance while waiting for the Prison tour(across the road). Well worth the visit. Coffee was excellent: cappuccino and macchiato enjoyed. Pastries can often disappoint with the taste not living up to the visual impression, not the case here, caramel shortcake and rocky road cake were fab. Didn’t eat lunch but food looked amazing.

Excellent neighborhood café. We were staying next door at the Hilton and had breakfast here daily. Friendly service and perfect breakfasts. Never had anything but breakfast but the menu looked great. If you’re visiting the Kilmainham gaol or art museum include a meal here! This is the kind of place that every neighborhood should have for a quick and healthy dining option.

I live close by and always said i would stop again and again for months because anytime I passed it was packed full of tourists coming from Kilmainham jail. I finally managed to visit last week and was really underwhelmed. I wanted a quick bite to go so I opted for a takeaway toasted sandwhich. Goats cheese, spinach, and carmelised onion on rye bread. It took about fifteen minutes to make and toast and the place was fairly empty this day. Well. the sandwich was what it said. nothing special just meh. pretty bland to be honest I would of made better at home. and it was about 6euro on its own without a coffee or drink. I would return again though maybe for some breakfast they had a good menu lots of healthy options.

A genuine and polite service. Coffee is good but the mint chocolate is so so. I suggest substitute it with good quality cracker.

We stopped by this cozy looking café for lunch after visiting Kilmainham Gaol jail. The Unilocal reviews were positive so we gave it a try. The service was friendly & the food was fresh & made to order. I ordered the Honey roast ham sandwich with a side salad & latte while my wife ordered the Falafel with Hummus on pita bread with a green tea. We thoroughly enjoyed our food & drinks. The place is very clean & modern. People were enjoying food & drinks & chatting it up on the patio. This place has great food & atmosphere.

Nice little place and great coffee. Sandwiches were super tasty but they keep the pre-made sandwiches in a box in the fridge. They make them themselves but something about seeing them all stored in a box in the fridge puts me off slightly. But I’d definitely go back.

Lime tree café is a great option if you are looking for a quick bite and you are in kilmainham. It’s located across the road from the famous gaol. There’s a nice terrace area that we say in both times– it’s set back from the road so it’s pleasant. They do a great range of sandwiches, some hot dishes, lovely cakes and sweet nibbles and excellent coffee. I live nearer to insomnia in kilmainham but I think Limetree has more character. The staff will drop stuff down to your table when you have paid. I found them all to be friendly. Definitely worth a visit– do the gaol tour first and then walk through the Royal Hospital grounds after lunch. Perfect!

Great little café just by the Hilton Kilmainham — tasty breakfasts and coffee at very reasonable prices. Scones are lovely but would be better served with clotted cream, than generic butter. Service is friendly if not a little slow… I guess that comes with the whole neighbourhoodly feel about the café, where no one is rushed for time? However it can be overrun by tourists from the nearby Kilmainham Gaol so it highly depends on that if you get a table or not!

Love love love Limetree, the food is fresh and delicious and includes wheat and gluten free options. Staff are lovely even during the mad lunchtime rush, if you enjoy the cold autumn days like me it’s a perfect place to sit outside and watch the tourists wander in and out of Kilmainham jail.

My family and I decided to get a bite here after the long tour of the Gaol because we figured their € 6 – 7 sandwiches would be more filling that the € 5 whoppers we see around. And thus, we were not disappointed. First off, I want to mention how fresh everything tasted. We got the basil pesto chicken sandwich and the sandwich of the month. Both were absolutely filling and tasty. We also got a large bowl of the soup of the day, another healthy and satisfying dish. Alongside the sandwiches, a salad with a side of quinoa was given. Not really a big fan of quinoa, but I ate it regardless. My mom also order the iced chocolate coffee and was pretty happy with it. My favorite part of the time there was the service we had. Everyone there was all smiles and enjoyed having us as customers. They even split our sandwich and salad into thirds for us, noting how we were likely to share(risky move, but I appreciate the attentiveness!). Also, our Discover/Diner’s Club card wasn’t accepted at the time of when we were supposed to pay. Not only that, we had a line of 5 people behind us, making my dad and I feeling even crappier for making everyone wait. However, the cashier told I not to worry about it and just eat first and pay later. Probably one of the coolest things they could’ve done. All in all, great if you’re balling on a budget an looking for good people with good food.

Limetree Café is a great place for lunch. The food is very tasty, fresh, and prepared quickly. My brother and I both had sandwiches, which were served with little side salads. We also split a very tasty cookie. The café is affordable, its décor is cute, and the staff is friendly. You can’t ask for more in a café!

Cute little café with bright décor, and tasty healthy whole foods. My sandwich came toasted with a small green salad and a chickpea salad. The choices of San Pellegrino sparkling flavored water/juices are pretty amazing — I haven’t ever seen that many flavors! I’ve been here now for tea one morning and lunch one day, and I can easily see myself going back. Their scones look especially nice, but I haven’t tried one yet!

YUM! Stopped here for lunch before our tour of Kilmainham jail. Unassuming café with a bright cheery interior and the staff to match. I was pleasantly surprised by the fresh, contemporary menu, expecting much more of a tourist trap given that’s it’s across from the jail. I had the Sliced Turkey Breast, Taleggio Cheese, Pesto Rosso and Rocket on Ciabatta(p.s. Rocket is the coolest name ever for Arugula). Delicious! Definitely recommend stopping by if you are in the area — tourist or otherwise!
