Hipster pub in Kinsale!
Kinsale is a rather posh town with attitudes to go with. The Greyhound is a 400 year old pub that is actually a cool place to drink with local people, not tarted up for tourists. Awesome music, a cast of characters and someone’s friendly dog roaming around make this a fun place for a drink. If you are much over 40, it’s probably not for you.

Very cool — old seedy bar! It dates back to 1695. It’s behind The White House Hotel. It’s unique, old and gritty. Definitely have a couple pints here!

It was pissing down rain so we popped in for a pint. Great traditional pub that a had a fire going when we arrived. The place was empty except for a few locals at the bar. Lots of old school memorabilia and nooks and crannies in the pub. Definitely worth checking out!

A great place to grab a pint either within its cozy interior or at one of the many tables outside. Since it’s not near the water, there are no real scenic views here, but there’s definitely plenty of ambience and people watching to be had.

Tramore, Republic of Ireland
Yeah, as proper irish pubs go — this one fits the bill. Est. 1690 ! The authentic snugs (once used by women only). And the friendly bartenders who call last call at half– twelve. And again at 1:00 am. And again … It’s a favorite among locals and visitors would be well served to blend in buy a local a pint and let the current standings on the hurling matches or a suggestion for lunch in Kinsale the next day. (for sure you might not wake early after a night at the grey hound)

Irvine, CA
The Greyhound was one of the coolest and most traditional pubs we went to while in Ireland. It is small and cozy, but not so small you feel crammed. There were a couple fireplaces going burning Peet and it just made us feel like we had stepped back in time. The beers were good and the crowed seemed very local. It is a very cool place in Kinsale to kick back and enjoy a couple pints. I really wish it had been raining, I can only imagine how cozy it would be. If you visit Kinsale the Greyhound is a must if you want the true Ireland pub experience.
