Love this coffee, it’s in my top 5 of coffee shops in Dublin. Lovely staff and a nice and cosy setting. Looking forward to doing a BYOB night there soon.

Been here a couple of times on my way home from college when I need a pick up, and it always does the trick! Staff are really lovely, the coffee is delicious and I like the interior :) am yet to try the brunch, but I imagine that too is good! Would highly recommend. :)

They serve a good, hearty breakfast with eggs, and it was just a short and pleasant walk from our hotel(Hilton). Service was excellent: they were really good with our little one(2-yr old) and they also helped us decide which sites to visit in Dublin.

Wandered in here on a Sunday afternoon, looking to try out a new coffee place. The place was very quiet, owing presumably to the fact it is a bit out of the way, certainly not an indication of quality. First, the décor. The interior area is quite small, about 4 or 5 tables which are quite large so maybe for communal dining during busier times. A mixture of a couple of sofas with some chairs and stools in the mix made for a very cosy atmosphere. There is also an outside area out the front, seems this would be lovely on a nice sunny day, maybe even with a sneak peak of the canal. So, service. As the place was empty bar one other person when I entered, I was unsure if they still served food. I was immediately greeted by the server/Batista in a friendly manner who assured me brunch was served until 3pm. Despite the sign on the till saying you must order and pay at the till before sitting, he handed me a menu cheerily as I was unsure, and told me I could sit while he prepared my coffee order. He then took my food order while I was still seated and didn’t end up paying until leaving the café. So, menu. They have a good variety of brunch options to choose from. If you’re a vego however, I was unsure if some of the egg options had a veggie alternative, I didn’t ask. I opted for the scrambled eggs and chorizo, it was a good call. Food was served on toast, all made fresh out the back, eggs were seasoned with some basil or some other herb. The chorizo was absolutely delicious. I complemented this with a flat white, good strong taste(though I opted for decaf). Their coffee menu is not overly fancy or extensive, just the usuals, though the tea options seemed pretty good with a wide selection. Lastly, as the weather is starting to cool down, the heating was on and I happened to sit at the table by the radiator, it was delightfully warm. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here. Not sure what it’s like if/when it’s busy, but it seems like a nice place to relax, close to ranelagh/rathmines/portobello but out of the way enough, so it seems, that you can chill out here nicely by the looks of it. The music soundtrack was also a nice chilled mix which I also really enjoyed.

Such an amazing place. Wandered in at 7am looking for a coffee and got a warm greeting and amazing breakfast. Breakfast is simple but top notch! I highly recommend it.

What an absolute gem of a place for a night out. I have one word for you: BYOB. Hell not only just Bring Your Own Beer, but Bring Your Own Wine or Bring Your Own Spirit. Corkage fees are € 1 per beer, and up to € 10 for a large bottle of spirit. Predrinking @ Houses is DEAD. Long Live Predrinking! But seriously, this place is cool. The outdoor areas are beautiful, there’s fake grass and lovely wooden benches. There’s a real festival feel to the place and everyone just chats to everyone else. None of your ‘this is my group, that’s your group, lets not talk to each other’ malarky that you get in your usual pub, be prepared to mingle. In fact it feels like a house party that you’ve been invited to, and hey the host happens to have KILLER taste in music. The inside is homely with a fire place, couch & chairs everywhere. There’s one table that people usually gather around, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a drinking game being played that you might get dragged into. I actually got talking to the owner one night and he’s a dead-on cool guy who knows exactly what Dublin’s been missing. This place is the counter-culture to the pre-drink at home & go out to bars with € 6 pints @ 12pm experience that most millennials have been living. And it’s honestly been long, long overdue. The only bad thing I can think of is the lack of heaters but apart from this one caveat, me & every friend I’ve brought here has vowed to make this our summer 2015 destination. In short: Amazing bar with BYOanything, killer tunes of the type your cool friend would show you and a festival/house party atmosphere that has two rockin’ beer gardens. Perfect as we’re just coming into summer.

Ive been wanting a place like this to open in Dublin for a long long time!!! And now that its arrived it hasn’t disappointed! These are the same guys who run festivals so the fact that theyve tried their hand at coffee/byob night space means that its a very cool spot. Ive been here a handful of times for coffee and its quality. Ive also rocked up to this place a few Friday nights after a few works drinks and its a welcoming spot. Great music and chilled vibes. Its super casual as well. Im looking forward to spending most of my summer weekend nights at this spot!

Lock 6 has been on my list for a while to get down to and try, I had a few hours to myself on a day off work so got into it this thursday. Is right beside the canal so on a good day(like thursday was) it really is a gorgeous place to hang out and enjoy a coffee. The coffee its really is in the better side of the spectrum of coffee that you can find in dublin so no complaints there. Although I think they only give out plastic/paper cups. I had said i was sitting in but still got a paper cup, maybe I was misheard but thats what I got. I do like to drink from a cup though! The inside of the place it mmmm so so. Not particularly pretty but definitely not drab either, just kind of middle of the road. The staff were nice and friendly too. The real selling point of this place is the fab outside seating !! gorgeous on a sunny day! its a criss cross of wooden benches and tables that looks very artsy and a canapey above to keep out the rain or from the sun beating down on you too hard, and all over looking the canal. I really really did enjoy hanging out there. I was the only one in the café at the time had the whole outdoor area to myself and just watched the swans float up and down the canal. A fab stop off if ever there was one

Nice chat with the proprietor when I was at Lock 6 Coffee recently. Coffee was good too. Shame its not on my route to work. Good name. I’d say it’ll be lovely in the summer. A non-alcoholic option too for the sun worshippers outside The Barge across the canal. Grand.

I was thrilled with myself when I found this little gem the other day. It’s got a lovely local feel to it, with a really friendly owner who makes you feel like a regular the minute you walk in the door. Good coffee, friendly service and random quirky details seems to be what it’s all about here, and I will be back fo sho.
