A little off the beaten track but well worth a visit! The meatballs for the starter are definitely the star of the show. Really tasty and flavour packed! They do home-made chips here and I would definitely recommend for a side order. My date had the steak and my sneaky bite left me craving more! We were so full from starters and mains we didn’t fit in dessert but will be taking another trip back to sample again!

We’ve been to Carpe Diem quite a lot and mostly it’s been positive. Food is generally excellent except the Fillet Steaks are tiny, expensive and always over cooked. All their Wine is terrible in my opinion and I’ve tried almost every bottle on the menu that’s under € 30. Go for the house red, it’s the best of a bad bunch. Manageress is very loud, overpowering and actually comes across as rude. She constantly disappears into the back of the premises for long periods of time and always seems to do so when you need something. Food is often brought out to customers with the last person being left for up to 10 minutes after the first has been served. Daniel is always great and there is also a lovely girl who works there on a Sunday Morning if you want a great breakfast in peace. The restaurant needs extra staff and could also do with a coat of paint as it’s becoming very tired & grubby looking. The seating is also in poor condition. Some small improvements and it oils be one of the best restaurants around. Please hire a decent manageress.

Looking for something different and near by I decided, as you do, to hit Unilocal for some suggestions and came across this little diddy of a gem! Previous reviews where mixed so I was a bit hesitant but after viewing their menu and a variety to choose from I was sold! So happy with my decision as its one of the tastiest meals I’ve had in a while, even scored brownie points with the misses with my choice! Calamari was tad vinegary for my liking but was still quite tasty and the scallops my better half had where done perfectly. The pollo fuerentina was amazing and she had the ravioli which was also pleasing to the taste buds! Desserts didn’t disappoint either with the fudge or lemon drizzle! The waiter working alone on ten tables had no problems, was super friendly and their attention to the little details has made us both new regulars! Great value for money and we will be sure to try something new next visit!

I previously gave this place 3 stars and basically said you get what you pay for here and no wow factor. Well I’ve been coming here a good few times over the last couple weeks and have been able to try a lot of their menu — from their breakfasts I had an omelette which was excellent! My mate had a full Irish and it was excellent too. For lunch I have tried a number of the pasta’s and salads which I have been very impressed with. The chef in this place knows what they are doing, everything is freshly made with quality ingredients. The pasta is some of the best I’ve had in Dublin so my opinion of this place has greatly improved. While the food seems to have gotten better and better the pricing hasn’t changed so I find myself constantly recommending carpe diem to all my friends when they come to saggart! Give it a try and you’ll be sure to like it. The staff are lovely and will gladly chat laugh and accommodate any special requests. Im going to 4 stars but could end with a fifth in the future!

We’ve eaten here and grabbed cappuccino while staying at The Forge Guesthouse. The food was tasty. We found the staff friendly, inviting and efficient. No complaints at all. The spicy chicken salad is delicious and I loved the chicken linguine al fungh. One of our favorite places in the area.

So I decided to treat herself to a bit of lunch as I had the day off and she was on earlies. Our plan was to hit Avoca in Saggart. It was packed so their loss, we decided to try the little restaurant in Saggart«Carpe Diem». Our Loss. First giveaway should have been the lack of patrons. Herself ordered the Bruschetta and a Chicken cesar salad. I ordered the ministroni soup and the lasagne. The Bruschetta was not bad. The cesar salad oh dear, We think the lid fell of the dressing bottle. The dish was swimming in it so much so the lettuce was soggy The minstroni soup turned out to be vegatable soup, I was to tired and well needed to be somewhere else to argue so I tried it. passable. The lasagne oh dear. If you wiped a cows ass you would have more meat. I would hazard a guess the meat content was less than a teaspoon. Will We be back not a hope in hell.
