Unexpected location. The dead-end road leads to a pub, B&B, and a small camping site which are run together. The place is quite and you feel isolated. Access is difficult(or impossible) without a car. We really enjoyed the site, the drinks and the food.

Wonderful 2 nights at the Beach Bar & Aughris House. Room had a beautiful view of the sea, clean & comfortable bed, wifi decent. Bathroom was clean, fresh towels & hot water. Breakfast was good — not the best«Irish breakfast» we’ve had on our travels, but made-to-order and decent. Had dinner both nights in the bar. First night the special — braised lambshank with mash & red cabbage — was excellent. Chicken gougons so-so, chips disappointing — not very crisp. Second night tried to fried sampler, prawns were good but wings needed a bit more seasoning. Accompanying sauces tasty. The Guinness Stew was good. It’s definitely off the beaten path, but plenty of locals came in throughout our stay — someone else on either this site or Travel Advisor complained that the bar was loud all night — this was not our experience, and our room faced the road and was on the first floor. Best part of the stay — just sitting in the nice wooden chairs outside the house, taking in the sea view, watching the tide turn. The family that owns the bar has two dogs, they are sweet and friendly and always looking for a little love from guests. We’d definitely return. We got lucky with sun for most of both days staying there, but even when it rained the pub, the room & the view compensated.
