A stereotype exists that French service is snobbish and standoffish. In Le Fournil this is not the case, the enthusiastic owner Clotilde regularly sells her French pastries around Sligo at local markets(Drumcliff, Sligo Flea Market, Sligo Farmers market) and has thus built up a loyal following. The shop itself is small but the quirky interior will remind you of patisseries only seen on holidays or in French films. Treat yourself to their delicious flaky pain au chocolat to take away with a coffee, and have change from a fiver. They also do cakes to order for special occasions, I can testify that the chocolate and raspberry mousse cake is heavenly, and keeps fresh when refrigerated for 3 days.
