Lyon’s Café is definitely the best place to eat in Sligo. We ate there everyday during the Fleadh. Soup, bread really good but the deserts are absolutely fabulous. Service was great in spite of them being really busy. Coffee could be improved upon.

Our B&B hostess told us to give Lyons a go. So we did, I wasn’t able to try any of the hot entrées but the Lebanese chicken sandwich was excellent with a side salad. I also tried a few desserts, cinnamon rhubarb crumble with Fabio’s ice cream which was fantastic stuff. The interior will definitely take you back in time too. It’s a great place to pop in out of the rain.

It’s no wonder that this charming café located in the heart of Sligo, with an airy interior that dates back to the 1930s is always buzzing. It has a lovely fresh deli counter, and a menu that changes daily. It’s a bit of a treat, as the food from the hot counter can be expensive. They now have their own beautifully presented cookbook. Definitely worth a visit with a friend. Georgina Campbell agrees, as you can see by her awards, proudly gracing the doorway before you ascend the charming wooden staircase.

Really really good self service restaurant in a charmingly old school room. Packed with locals on their lunch breaks from work during the week. Great lunches, good fry on the weekend and fantastic fruit crumble!
