Good value for money. Food is quite good for the price. Pizzas are good. The wheel pizza is enough for 3(regular) people and costs around 18eur. I usually go for goat’s cheese salad with chick peas, which I really like and have a good amount of food, not only lettuce. Staff is nice except the blonde girl. I went to this place several times and she is always rude, however the remaining staff is really nice.

Pizza is pretty good here and good selection of wine. Kinda pricey depending on what you’re getting… Large pizzas are to share or for someone very hungry.

This is a great neighbourhood pizza joint. I live not far from here and it’s great when you’re looking for high quality, quick, and reasonably priced pizza or pasta. The reason I probably go back above all is the pizza. Their crust and their cheese mixtures are very good and their toppings(great pepperoni, chicken, bacon, and veggies) are sometimes so generous that they’re overloading the slice. The service here is also great. The waiters and waitresses seem almost universally good and everything really is quick. I’m giving this a five star rating not because it’s the best Italian restaurant in Dublin(it isn’t) but because it is great at what it is: a convenient, no-nonsense, quick restaurant that serves good pizza and pasta in Smithfield.

I live a few minutes from there and from the outside I never really felt attracted to it. Until a few month ago when I went for an icecream with my boyfriend after a night out. And then today before going to the Jameson Distillery for a tour… 1* For the staff: So friendly! I mean really. We felt taken care of like it was a family place. 1* For the service: If you are hungry and in a hurry, do not think twice. This is the place to go to ! We ordered a pizza, with one half chicken and the other half Volcano spicy. I was happily surprised to hear that there was no problem making 2 different halves. Then the waiter said it would take 12 minutes. I didn’t check the clock but it seemed faster. The smoothies arrived first really fast and then the pizza. At some point my boyfriend asked for a garlic dip. What came back was way more than I expected. Instead of a mini dip — like you usually see everywhere — we got a mini bowl full of garli dip. I even took a picture: D 1* For the pizza: We orded a 16″ and it was huge. My side was with chicken, mushrooms, tomato, cheese and bacon. It was really tasty ! The other size was delicious as well — as per my other half’s report. Minus 1* For forgetting a detail: I asked for the bacon to be removed and they forgot. To me it was important because I don’t really care for bacon in pizza. The waiter took note of it but the bacon stood happily on my pizza. 1* For the smoothies: I had passion fruit and he had bkueberry. Nom nom ! The price was reasonable for a smoothie I think: 3.90euros for a big smoothie. I will come back for that as well definitely ! If you wish to take a doggie bag with your leftovers that’s fine. The waiter will actually ask you if you haven’t finished your plate :) Overal I am really happy with this place and I recommend it. It has a family atmosphere to it and it’s really enjoyable ! Let me know if you have any questions and I will answer as best as I can. #yelpmeplease #eliteyelper #yelp

I had a really great pepperoni pizza here recently. It ticked all the boxes– good pepperoni, decent amount of cheese and a proper thin base. I also tasted my friends chicken and bacon burger and it was delicious! The bacon was really crispy which I find difficult to get! I had a craft beer too which was lovely. A good place to grab a pizza before the cinema.

This is more of a 3.5 than a 3. Despite only living a few minutes from here, I’d never been inside. I think it’s the overall branding and décor that put me off — it’s a little plastic looking — kinda reminds me of a café you’d go to in an amusement park. Like one of the nicer ones that you save for the evening like. Anyway to be honest it’s perfectly lovely. It’s more or less exactly what I thought — big menus, bright lighting and colourful décor. None of which are bad things, it’s really all up to your personal taste. We just went in for desert which was delish. I got apple pie and ice cream which was lovely, and my pal got a very decadent ice cream sundae with loads of fruit, sauce etc. The staff were lovely as well — really accommodating and friendly. We went in after 10 and there was only one other couple there, so you can bet they groaned when they saw us come in and stop them from closing up, but honestly they never showed it — quite the opposite, they were exceptionally welcoming and sweet. I would come back again to try the pizza as I hear it’s good.

It’s a great option for lunch — authentic Italian food, friendly staff, quick service. Definitely the right choice for a pre or post movie bite to eat — the Lighthouse cinema is its neighbour — much better than the nearby gastro pub. Great value too.

Popped in here yesterday for a cup of coffee as my usual haunt the lighthouse cinema was pretty busy! I must say i was pleasantly surprise with the setting and ambience! Pretty light and airy décor with plenty of space between the other diners! I only had tea and scone but the service was top notch and the scone was heated to just the right temp. the tea was Barry’s so u can’t complain as most places you get some dodgy«no name» tea! The smell of garlic wafting through the place certainly made me want to return to try out the menu which had everything from pizza, pasta, burgers and salads on it! Defo one to be bookmarked for my next eatery in D7!

Wasn’t that impressed by the brunch offerings, so I got a portion of chips and they are the singular worst serving of chips I have ever had — served with cheap vinegary sachets of ketchup. They were obviously frozen oven chips and were dry and undercooked. The staff weren’t very organised, it took about 3 trips to bring out cutlery, condiments and food instead of all in one go. They looked bored in the echoing, empty restaurant. The place was dead on a Sunday, and little wonder. The toilets are located down two flights of stairs and are most confusing to get to. They also looked like they hadn’t been cleaned all weekend. Have since been told they serve some of the worst pizza in Dublin. No atmosphere with a repetitive soundtrack of dated pop tunes blasting out the front. Avoid!

Fine place to grab a bite before or after a movie at the lighthouse. we got a pizza to share. We chose the 16″ margarita to keep it simple. It was huge and the 12″ would have been big enough for us. Service was friendly and efficient. The interior seems like a place that you would find in a shopping mall so not exactly a nice interior but fair enough. The pizza was fine, if a bit American in style, lots of cheese and sauce and the crust was a bit thick. I would go back again as I said for a bite after a movie.

We had a reservation for 3 people only to find that a table for 2 was set aside for us. My friend had to sit in the aisle always having to move when the staff passed by. And they had plenty of tables available. It took about 20mins for our order to be taken and the service was generally pretty bad. The starter was nice and plentyful but the main(seafood pasta) was bland with overcooked pasta. Although I only live 2 mins away, I would not go back there.

I think it’s a 3.5 star to be honest… everything was average but nice enough that I won’t mind visiting Bel Cibo again if I can’t be arsed to go into the city centre. Food portions were massive with generous pouring of house wines — prices very reasonable as well € 19.90 for two courses with wine/beer. The food was just lacking a bit of lustre — tasty enough but just a bit more imagination could do a fair bit to push this to a 4 star review!

The food was great but there was little choice. Big portions and quick service. Not that expensive. Pizzas for +/-12 euros. The interior was modern, but it wasn’t that big. We’re staying at the Generator Hostel(Lovely hostel btw) which is across the street. We will try the breakfast some day(Blueberry pancakes)!

I had the Caprese Salad and the deep fried mushrooms, both are starter options. I just didn’t see any big salads on the mains which I think is a short sight especially during the summer months. They do however have a very impressive pizza and pasta selection. Nice and spacious inside, very friendly and efficient service. A great spot to drop into prior to watching a film next door, also there were people outside in the balmy weather enjoying some vino and a view of cobblestones. My salad was very tasty, the presentation was interesting, like a tower of tomato and cheese. Tomatoes could of been more ripe. Huge portion of mushrooms that I could not finish and they also had the right amount of garlic and the dip was very welcome alongside them too!

I swear I’m never going to turn down a good slice of pizza, no matter where I am on this planet! While visiting Dublin, we stayed at the Generator Hostel, located directly across from Bel Cibo in Smithfield Square. We had discovered during our stay that Smithfield is quite a long walk from most of the City Centre attractions and we began to tire from the long walks to some of the more popular areas like O’Connell and Grafton Streets. It was our last night in Dublin and pizza sounded mighty tempting. Bel Cibo appeared to be fairly new with trendy décor and small white tables. The places was pretty full on a Tuesday night. Our waitress was very sweet and really made the overall experience more enjoyable. I’m definitely a sucker for great pizza and please add Bel Cibo to the list of great experiences. I had the Pollo Pancetta which was layered with chunks of chicken and delicious strips of pancetta to create meaty goodness. It had a nice thin crust with just enough grease to make it good but firm enough to keep the toppings together. We also ordered a basket of chips which seems quite odd for an Italian place but I was so glad we ordered them. The chips had a fantastic seasoning that left us scraping the basket clean. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive and we enjoyed chatting with her. The only issue that came up was upon paying with our debit card. Our«no-chip» cards were a dead giveaway that we were from the US and they ended up being not accepted by their POS systems. We had intentionally used up all of our Euros cash since we were leaving the next day. I ended up running to the corner store to withdraw some cash. Our waitress was very apologetic about the situation so it didn’t bother me as much as it might have. In the end, I really enjoyed our experience at Bel Cibo. Pizza in Ireland? At Bel Cibo, YESPLEASE!

I enjoyed an appetizer and a glass of wine here and had a wonderful experience. The waitstaff was extremely helpful and the most wonderful fresh buffalo mozzarella and tomato stack was presented to me! I was taken back by the quality and quantity. Fresh and wonderful!

Tall windows, moody wall art and bold, bright colours set the scene for diners at Bel Cibo. Smithfield’s cool as a cucumber Italian spot offers sleek a Euro-cool atmosphere in a location that makes the best of it’s turf –right next to the popular Lighthouse Cinema. Share a Cipolle pie and a bottle of house red, soak in the atmostphere, then head over to catch an indie flick –or stop in for lunch on one of these soggy Dublin afternoons and get serious with a bowl of Bel Cibo’s mighty minestrone. Bel Cibo offers a rotating menu of 3 daily specials, promising a different taste every day. The staff is incredibly helpful, proffering wine lists, menus and their own favourites if choosing between the Prosciutto Crudo or Gnocci proves to be too hard. Prices are reasonable(for respectable pizza), but certainly not cheap –the takeaway menu’s 12″ pies start around € 10 or € 12 and extra toppings at € 1.50 each.
