The Hungry Knight is Sneem’s answer to «fast food.» Its Arthur Treacher, if you will. Unlike Arthur Treacher’s, however, the Hungry Knight is quaint, and the food is a hell of a lot better. Hungry Knight is fish and chips. And that’s about it. But that’s why you go. There’s nothing remarkable about the place — boring décor and not much of an «atmosphere» to recommend it. But the food is really good. You pick your fish from the daily board listing the fresh options, place your order, and wait for the golden, crispy fillet accompanied by the requisite chips to come steaming from the kitchen. The fish is fresh, flaky and moist, the breading thin, crackling, and crunchy. The Hungry Knight offers a legitimate European fish ‘n’ chips experience, one you’ll want to treat yourself to if you find yourself in this charming little part of the world.
