You would think by reading some of the reviews the stuff was made here??? Its not and not even in Ireland for that matter. Id rather buy some cool stuff made by people in Ireland that this repackaged mass produced stuff coming in from far off lands but then the masses love reproduced stuff from Asia. The restaurant is great unless your are celiac which I am, even the salads had stuff in them that made them off limits for me. Whats wrong with leaving the salads untouched and let the customer add the dressings later themselves. All in all I hate going here as there is nothing I can have. I love the piano though.

Going to Newbridge Silverware is an experience. The food is delicious, the cakes are decadent, the décor is classy and eye-catching, the store does great gifts and cards, and the museum upstairs is well worth a visit. A pianist plays in the corner as you feast and chat. And there’s a life-size(and much too lifelike) statue of a jeweller as you walk in. One woman actually said«Excuse me» as she brushed by it. Last week, a group of us came here for coffee. As they chattered around me, I sliced my scone in two, smeared jam and cream all over it and savoured every bite. Halfway through the conversation, everybody turned to look at me. One woman observed: «It’s like you’re in meditation. It’s beautiful.» I take my treats seriously.

For the footprint it occupies, Newbridge Silverware certainly makes the most of its space in Tallaght’s The Square shopping centre. As a welcome staple in any wedding gift pile, this small shop offers a great representation of the Newbridge line of homewares, as well as that catalogue of jewellery ranging from elegant and delicate to flat and chunky as an EU license plate. As a brand that is uniquely Irish, it makes sense to see outlets for Newbridge everywhere –including this out of the way shop front in The Square’s lower level. Be sure to remember it’s here, though, when on the look out for a lasting gift that’s truly Irish.

Well it doesn’t actually seem 14 years since Newbridge Cutlery turned its business on its head and started making its ubiquitous jewelry, soon you couldn’t move for people giving it as gifts or wearing it because it had been given as a gift! Thankfully they’ve expanded their range and now sell a wider variety of pieces since those early days, including some very delicate pieces which contrast remarkably with the chunkier pieces they made in the early days(and yes they were in fashion at the time). Now the Newbridge brand is established and they sell quite a good selection of silver products. This stores sells homeware and cutlery items, frames, jewelry and my favourite thing that Newbridge makes: those silver Christmas tree decorations. Where Newbridge has cornered the market is in gifting. Many of their household items make lovely gifts for wedding or house warming presents that look nice but won’t break the bank. I particularly like to send people the tree decorations at Christmas, a line which they usually add to each year, so if I forget what I sent last time I just get the new one! While Newbridge items are stocked in a number of shops it’s nice that they have their own shops, which sell the full range. This small shop has a surprising range, and all of them packed in the pretty blue newbridge boxes.
