Talbot Hotel & Leisure Complex

We loved our stay here! Absolutely beautiful hotel right on the water-​front, and perfectly within walking distance of the quay’s huge boardwalk, Main street shopping, the market, and loads of interesting historical landmarks. We now recommend it to anyone looking for a fun mini-​break.
Rooms are spacious and clean, plenty of pillows, bathrooms are clean and well looked-​after, and we loved that robes and slippers were provided when we arrived, it lent a very luxurious feel to our stay! Staff is incredibly warm and obliging as well as professional.
WiFi is password is provided to all guests and we had no problems accessing it.
Oyster Lane restaurant is tasteful and elegant with an early-​bird menu that was very reasonably priced, and the food was excellent.
Ballast Bank Bar & Grill is very impressive and food is reasonably priced — the addition of live music in the evening makes it a special attraction for tourists and locals alike.
We had afternoon tea in the lobby and can’t praise it enough for how delicious, elegant, filling, and well-​priced it was.
The leisure centre is a bit hard to find/​out of the way, but worth it. We found the spa massage packages to be excellent as well as the staff there.
Overall, very impressed and can’t wait to return.

This is a great hotel that offers superb quality food at reasonable prices. Both times I have eaten in the Ballast Bank Bar and Grill which now includes a Carvery counter — a new addition since I was here a year ago.
The staff are friendly and attentive, and if you are a local you are bound to meet someone in here you know.
I visited the bar and grill on a Friday afternoon for lunch which was filling up quickly at 1pm.
The menu is varied — Carvery options, fresh fish, burgers, wraps, sandwiches the list goes on! Each time I have eaten here I have found the food to be filing and tasty with food orders arriving in good time.
They also have a restaurant — Oyster Lane restaurant which provides a luxurious dining experience.
The hotel overlooks the marina and they have their own car park at the rear which is free of charge as long as you are a paying customer :-)
So if you are looking for quality fresh food then look no further!
