I travel to Amalfi at least once a year and always make it a point to go and eat at Stella Maris. The dishes are always fresh no matter what we order and Antonio will make us a special local dish when we ask or even a margarita pie. I always make it our first stop when I arrive on the Amalfitana Costiera. I do stop by a few times during my stay and relax on the beach and we are well taken care of. The beach is always very clean and there is always someone to get you what you want while on the beach. I can’t wait to see them and eat there again in June.

We were recommended this place by our hotel concierge. True, it’s more of a locals place. Our waiter, who I might suspect to be the owner or manager, even warned us about that. Which I thought was odd. The food was good but not mind blowing. I had a mixed seafood antipasti for an appetizer and my husband had a pasta with eggplant dish. For main course I had a local pasta dish with locally caught red calamari which was excellent. The pasta was very al dente, which is the tradition that gets missed by so many tourist that comment or raw state of pasta. My husband had squid with potato purée which was yummy. The tiramisu was great, as usual, it’s hard to mess up a tiramisu. My favorite part was the drinks. I had a lemon drop martini and it was yummy! The service was great, no one was rude as mentioned in another review. Next day we actually went here for the beach club. For 20 euro we were setup with loungers and umbrella beachfront.

The food was average and the service was poor. The manager was rude and short tempered. I would not recommend it to anyone.

So I’m on a pizza tour of Italy for a month and this restaurant combined with the view is the best I have had. The view is stunning, the service speaks English, and the pizza is stunningly perfect. This is the one to come to eat pizza. Seriously
