Most expensive meal of the holiday but worth it if looking for a special meal. After asking to sit outside we had a little alcove to ourselves, with very friendly and attentive staff. Extensive wine list and staff happy to discuss it. Lemon risotto to start which was rich, creamy and delicious. We had lemon fish and steak after — great meals, pretty flawless! Declined dessert but were offered a variety of small bite size tasters, like coffee cream éclair, lemon ricotta cake etc which was a lovely way to finish the meal, alongside the obligatory shot of limoncello!

One of the few restaurants open during off season. Waiter was nice and polite but many items on menu weren’t available. My boyfriend loved the lemon risotto with shrimp, which was very flavorful. Extensive wine list but I don’t think they sell by the glass.

My husband and I made the downhill trek from Ravello to amalfi specifically to have lunch at da Gemma on the recommendation of our ravello hostess. We were tired and starving when we got there and were led to an outdoor patio table. We asked for bread and were about to eat the table cloth when a huge bread basket appeared with hot rolls just out of the oven! Delicious! We ordered our meals and then we received a small amuse bouche when was a small piece of focaccia with tomato and basil cream, simple but nice. We ordered goat cheese rav with tomato sauce which was great. ravioli very soft and pillowy with chunky fresh tomato sauce. The house special pasta had beef and onions with perfectly al dente homemade noodles and was to me, like a french onion soup, and to my husband, reminiscent of a beef stew. Very hearty and delicious. We thought we couldn’t eat another bite but were served a small assortment of complimentary pastries for dessert. A nice touch. With a beer and two glasses of wine the bill was reasonable and overall the meal was great. Service friendly and attentive.

Most restaurants on the Amalfi Coast can run more expensive in general, but this one is worth it for the food, service and ambience. The mozzarella smoked in lemon leaves, the Nonna’s special pasta and the fish dishes are all delicious and a notch above the ordinary food at most trattorias. We found the service to be friendly and top notch and added to our enjoyment of the rooftop patio nicely removed from the busy street below. I am totally baffled by the few overly negative reviews. This is definitely a place I would recommend if you are into very good food and willing to spend a bit more than the average place.

Our tour group was on a short souvenir stop while in port for the day. The exciting white-knuckle bus ride along the Amalfi Coast culminated in the town of(drum roll please) … you guessed it: Amalfi. My wife and I sprinted to Piazza Duomo for photo ops at the steps of Duomo di Amalfi. We had a bit of time left so we dropped into the Trattoria as they opened. I craven a pizza Napolitana(w chovies) and wife the black squid ink pasta — our comfort food when visiting Italy. Hit the spot. Needles to say, our rushed attitude did not win friends with the staff. Oh well. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our pit stop. Drop on in when you’re in town.

Don’t even think of dinning here, way over priced and food is horrible. We thought it be very good and we’re very disappointed.

Best meal on the Amalfi We found this place on our last night and the food was amazing. Nona’s special pasta was a highlight and the Smoked mozzarella and prosciuto was awesom

Overrated. I think they get kickbacks from hotels that send their guests there. The house special Gragnano is tasty. But everything is down hill from that point. Overcharging galore should be expected. They aim to up sell you at every point possible. Avoid. It is a tourist trap dressed in ugly Italian clothes.

A hidden gem with great service, fresh seafood and relaxing atmosphere. Avoid the tourist traps along the main drag and find this cute little place.

I’m not sure if I’m upset or happy that I found the best restaurant on the Amalfi Coast on my last night. To tell the truth, I wasn’t crazy about the food on the Amalfi Coast compared to the food in Florence/Tuscany. We visited Amalfi, Positano, Ravello, and Capri and Gemma was the best restaurant in the region. Their great service(which is uncharacteristic in laid back Amalfi) really complimented their food. I went with the following: — Sformatino al provolone del monaco con caponatina di funghi porcini, pomodori e pinoli(Timbale of provolone del monaco cheese with porcini mushrooms, tomato salad and pine nuts): I was floored at how good their appetizer was and secretly didn’t want to share a bite. — Mezzi paccheri di Gragnano alla genovese di nonna Gemma(Large tube-shaped pasta with an onion and meat sauce): their sauce is braised for several hours — wow! It’s supposed to be grandma Gemma’s recipe and you can literally taste the love(I also loved the crispy fried onions added for texture). I didn’t want the dish to end. I’m not a fan of octopus and theirs was made to perfection — it wasn’t chewy like the rest of the octopus thats on every menu in Amalfi.
