Good: — very warm and jovial owners and Alessio and Stephano. — upon entering they offered us some fresh bread to try that had just come out of the oven — They have dollar wine on tap to go with your pizza or sandwiches — Very close to the Ponte Vecchio bridge Bad: — with everything said the food was under-seasoned and tasteless — we had a slice of vegetarian pizza and a vegetarian sandwich(we just asked the owners to surprise us with their sandwich creation), but unfortunately we were not surprised in a good way. — the slice of pizza was severely under-seasoned as well. — the dollar red wine was just ok and I didn’t go for another glass of it. — place is a hole-in-the-wall. with seating for probably 3 people inside and 2 – 4 people outside. so this is definitely a grab-n-go place. Pro-tip: if you really want to give this place a try, stick to the meat options and avoid the vegetarian offerings. if you really want to have one of your best sandwiches of your life, cross the Ponte Vecchio Bridge and head to All’Antico Vinaio and be patient to wait for your turn to get your sandwich(vegetarian sandwich was amazing at All’Antico Vinaio)

I read about this pizzeria when I was in the Uffizi Gallery and in need of some quick food and figured this would be a good place. And it was. It’s across the river by Ponte Vecchio, which was on my list of sites to discover during my time here, and I also was craving pizza. The reviews I read were very positive and I noticed that it was a great small pizzeria where you get quality for very little money. I had the pizza with prosciutto, 2 slices(which to them, is considered one) for € 2.50. It was a steal of a deal, especially considering how tasty it was! Yes, the spot is tiny and seating is very limited, so this isn’t the place for a big group nor if you want a sit down meal and/or a big pizza. But it’s perfect for what it is — a quick grab a quality slice for the road.

The best street pizza, focaccia, sandwiches, and amazing deliciousness in town. Stephano is the owner, and he’s practically famous in town, and beyond. Take your photo with him if you’re from out of town, and he’ll post in on the wall. Yes, it’s THAT kind of place. Small, unassuming, and downright delicious. This is about 100 feet from the edge of the Ponte Vecchio on the side that is NOT the center of town(Duomo side). Walk over the bridge, turn left and its about 15 or so doors down on the right(google maps may route you to the same street address on the other side of town, as there are two streets of the same name). You MUSTHAVE his porchetta. It’s amazing. Just say the word. If you have more room, just say that someone from DC sent you, and ask him to prepare his special, or anything he wants. This is ALWAYS the best call at places like this. If he asks who sent you, just say Mark: the big British/Italian guy who used to eat outside every day(he’s the friend who sent me, and I received great service with the reference)!

If you don’t eat here then you only have yourself to blame for missing out on a great meal. This is a step-in, step-out kind of eatery. There are a couple of seats, but it’s pretty crowded. The bread is homemade and it shows. It is delicious! I had a slice of pizza with arugula, prosciutto, cheese and sun-dried tomatoes. The slices are € 2.50 and were enough to tide me over til dinner no problem(~4 hours). My daughter had the salame piccante e fontina sandwich and, again, it was delicious. There is definitely an artisanal pride that these guys put into their food. The sandwiches run about € 4.50 or so. We’ve been in Italy for over a week now and this is the least expensive option we’ve run into and it is fantastic! Restaurants are easily going to run 2 people a total of € 25 – 40, but my daughter and I have been getting out of lunch here for € 7 flat. They also sell cold bottles of water for €.90 which is cheaper than I’ve seen it anywhere. The only way to beat that is a grocery store like Despar and then it’s room temperature. Don’t make a mistake by missing this place. You’re gonna thank me by giving my review a thumbs up, I guarantee it.

We researched where the good pizza is in Florence and this place came up with oodles of great reviews. I must say, it was quite good. The crust is somewhere in between USA regular crust pizza and sicilian thickness, it was perfect thickness in my book. I loved it. My slice had fresh mozzarella and tomato — it was dry crust, not oily at all and it was the prefect amount for a good sized snack. A second slice would have been too much for me I think. They had a slew of different pies to chose from.
