#118−2016: New Year, new fave past time for me and my fellow Unilocalers. We have decided to start getting a Sunday brunch under our belt… but so far our luck hasn’t been the best. First our disastrous adventure with l’Ov and the NON-USUS breakfast… then our perilous brunch here at Gorille. To their defense, the staff was amicable, attentive and prompt in fixing the delays with bringing a complimentary prosecco. So… here goes the culinary adventure. First the location: right next to the BOSCOVERTICALE, this resto is shabby chic with a splash of French bristot. We(party of 6) get seated at an an oddly shaped table and brought drinks and a few pieces of bread and olive oil. They promptly get our orders(5 mixed brunch and 1 variation) taken and start waiting. and waiting… and waiting.. and waiting some more. Mind you it was and ready past 1:30PM when we all got seated… to cut things short, we waited close to 40 minutes for our meals… BUT, the waitress kept coming to check on us, bringing more bread, apologizing for the delay(and even offering us a round of prosecco on the house). Then… A THINGOFBEAUTY came… The chef is an artist and you could see him painting a food canvas on our plates: vibrant colors, great assembly of products and AMAZING taste of ingredients!!! Sadly the size of the meal was sightly on the«starving-model» side of things… which, had we not eaten so much bread in the meantime, would have left us still hungry. I totally ADORED the flavors, the combination of ingredients and the overall experience was positive. I will surely be coming back to sample more and maybe even get a dinner there. KUDOS on the chef and keep up the good work(and try to iron out kitchen issues as best you can) and I am sure I will be able to assign a full 5 stars.
