Lunch break used to be a nightmare in the Duomo area, so many expensive and bad places. Now there are many new openings that make it less of a nightmare, but this place has been around for some time and it has always been like an oasis of good, inexpensive, no frills, sandwiches. All with kind staff. Besides the classic sandwiches, they have others with many different ingredients, interesting combinations and super fast service. Prices are around 5 euros for a sandwich. They have a hall downstairs and some seating space outside if you want to eat there, otherwise you can get them to go and eat in the office or in the nearby square(piazza san fedele).

I read positive reviews of GB Bar on Trip Advisor and found this place on a whim right next to the duomo.(We had originally planned on going to Luini but the line was around the block). At GB Bar we were greeted right away by a friendly server who sat us at a table outside(it was a little chilly but they set up heaters for us). The server recommended us two different paninos — one with mozzarella, tomato and proscuitto, and another with brie, speck and walnuts. Both were good — nothing spectacular, but the price was definitely economical. Our server was very attentive and I really appreciate that he went through the menu and talked about which dishes were his favorite. I’m not sure if I would come here again, but if you’re looking for a quick bite by the duomo with good service you should come here.
