Caffè Ciampini

Only stopped for coffee but what a location. So relaxed about a couple ordering mere capuccini. And so reasonable.

This place is great. One of my better dinning experiences in Rome. Our door patio is super as is the view. The food is delicious including the cod risotto and teramisu.

Great Italian tuna sandwich, fantastic house cocktail, beautiful view… =). Great place for a quick bite and drink.

La vue depuis la partie restaurant (nous n’avons pas testé la pizzeria) est superbe. La nourriture y est très bonne: le bœuf, sauce aux pruneaux et le foie gras à la confiture de framboises sont excellents!
Point négatif: service très (trop) rapide: nous n’avions pas fini notre premier plat qu’il nous a été enlevé… Moyen juste sur ce point!

So everyone is raving about this place view. TO be honest we saw nothing because it was raining and the had the Sun Tent down but im grateful in some weird way because we got to appreciate the food and the wine.
Now in a tratoria you would expect to get normal a traditional Italian meal and that what we got. Between a huge selection of meat and fresh fish i really did struggle to make up my mind. I was tempted few times to order everything but that would just be the end of me as i would for sure devour it (I just cannot say no to good Italian food)
They also made the difference in the wines. Its the first Italian restaurant that i have been in Rome (and i go there once a year) that they actually do have ALL the wines in their catalogue, yes im not joking you the have them ALL. And there are so many you cannot decide which one an from almost all the regions of Italy.
In essence they have everything good food, loooooots of exquisite wine, good location and the view. A definite MUST try for everyone around piazza di Spagna

Très bien. Je dois manger sans sel et le cuisinier s’est mis en 4. Accueil agréable. Vue et soleil sur la terrasse.

Yes, Caffe Ciampini has incredible views but they also have fantastic food. If Rome is your honeymoon destination, romantic vacation destination, or date destination this place will make the panties or undies drop!!! Trust me, the view alone deserves 5 stars but you pair that with a fantastic meal… ORGASM
Located just up the road from the Spanish Steps in Rome, Caffe Ciampini has one of the best steaks around! If you are tired of pastas and pizzas and want a good steak, come here… The meat was huge (that’s what she/​he said) and filling (school girl giggle).
If you make the smart decision to come here, please request the gazebo! It has the best view of the Vatican. If you watch the sunset over the vatican, it is breathtaking and beautiful.
You will love the view here. And you will also love the food. Ciao!

After three days in bustling, hectic Rome, my wife and I decided to walk over to the Villa Medici and Gardens, which are located near the top of the Spanish Steps to get away from the crowds. We really enjoyed the peace, quiet, and amazing views. As we were leaving, we saw Caffe Ciampini across the street. It looked inviting and we decided to give it a try. Great decision.
The setting is terrific and the service was professional, elegant and friendly. It has an extensive menu and wine list. It being the afternoon, we opted for a Pinot Grigio. Outstanding! I had the seafood antipasto as my entrée, and it paired beautifully with the white wine. My wife had the lamb chops (which was a rack of lamb), OMG! One of the best we have ever had.
All in all, it was one of the more enjoyable meals we had in two weeks in Italy. Highly recommended.

As a tourist, I love this place. The view alone is worth it. Fortunately, the food and the service is wonderful. I have enjoyed pasta, meat, and vegetable dishes here. My all time favorite was the salad of three different types of tomatoes, which were in season. The preparation was wonderful. I also enjoy their wine choices and cocktails.
Location wise, I think it’s perfect, especially if you stroll from the Piazza del Popolo down Viale Gabriele d’Annunzio toward the Spanish Steps. It’s almost at the end of the stroll and a welcome respite.

this place wasn’t bad. we went here after a place up the street stopped serving lunch and we were hungry. the only complaint we’d even have was they took forever to give us the check. that seems to be a habit in Rome though. us new yorkers just aren’t used to that we are always in a rush! we loved sitting on the couch and the view though so it’s okay.

Ottimo ristorante. Ambiente piacevole e piatti curati. Prezzi tuttavia un po’ troppo alti.

Situated between the top of the Spanish Steps and Palazzo Medici, this restaurant is romantic, has amazing views of St. Peters at night and delicious food.
I enjoyed pasta with wild boar and my husband ordered lobster ravioli– which turned out to be large pieces of pasta with a very generous portion of lobster in between.
There is a small pool filled with turtles that separates the tables on the outdoor patio. The staff is attentive and the crowd was much more local than tourist during my visit.
