We happened to find this place by accident while walking around Monti and liked it so much that we booked a second time to take the rest of the family. The menu changes slightly from time to time but I found that this lets you experience all sorts of different and amazing food. The music and atmosphere is very relaxed and romantic. The food is delicious. I personally recommend the carbonara and the tiramisu. We didn’t need a reservation the first time(we only had 2 people) but we went ahead and made one the next time(4 people). I can’t wait to go back.

We lucked out here. The place looked good and we gave it a shot and it was… good. Name means something like«quick, quick» but likely with a fresher connotation like«improvised.» My pasta was a spaghetti with squid in a white sauce that was not much more than pasta water and parmesan and was delicious. Wife ordered bream and the garnish was roasted mix of eggplant, zucchini and red peppers served atop the fish like a sauce. We had a great pear cake for dessert.

By far the best food I’ve had in Rome. Simple, yet full of flavor! Everything from their caprese to their grilled octopus is amazing!!!

Small place but very nice. Service was good along with the food. A giveaway that this was a good place to go was the fact that the locals seemed to like it.

My wife and I walked in thinking it looked like a good spot. Unfortunately we were treated terribly by the staff and ended up walking right back out. I’m sure they have great food but we didn’t want to stay as the server was rude due to my wife only wanting to share a meal. I’ve never been treated so poorly by a server my entire life. Maybe he was having a bad day? Either way, we took our business elsewhere. Make sure everyone in your party is willing to order a lot of food and drink otherwise you might have the same experience.

We were in Rome for three nights visiting from Southern California and we spent two of our meals here because we were so impressed by the food. The menu is broken down in typical Roman fashion of Antipasto, First Pasta Course, and Entrée Course, with a half dozen or so choices for each. Pastas are 8 – 12 €, Entrees are 10 – 15 €. Appetizers are not expensive, but a second pasta course is a better value proposition if you are hungry. The portions overall are smallish by American standards(but shouldn’t be a problem if you take your time and enjoy your meal and give your body time to realize it is full). You might want to call ahead and make reservations though. We came in for an early dinner service and got seated. The restaurant quickly filled up, no further reservations were available, and 3 tables were turned away before our dinner service was done.

I traveled through Venice, Florence, and Rome and this was by far my favorite restaurant! I actually discovered it on TripAdvisor, which has more reviews on this place, while doing a nearby search of places to eat near by hotel. It’s a cute restaurant and unlike other Italian establishments, you’re not an inch away from the next table; here you have maybe a foot(which makes a huge difference). The pastas here are AMAZING. I tried four different ones and I can’t decide on a favorite because each were delicious in its own way. Their lunch and dinner menus are slightly different(I came on both occasions) in the types of pastas offered, but prices are the same. I came for a late lunch service and an early dinner service and there were no waits. I think the only comparable pastas I’ve had are at super fancy Italian restaurants in CA or NY. The portions are kind of small. Pastas range from 8 – 11 € so it’s not expensive, but you’ll need to order more than one dish. Their house wine is only 5 € and water is 2 €. I also tried the fried veal entrée and the cheesecake dessert. The cheesecake is really good! It’s Italian cheesecake so more fluffy than American. I highly recommend this place!

A recommander!

…when in Rome, visit this little gem! I would suggest reservations as the dining area is cozy, and popular. My fiancé and I were lucky enough to be seated without one, and we were impressed with everything from that moment on. It was a little difficult to find tucked out of the way on Via Urbana, but so worth it. I have to agree with most comments, both meal and service were outstanding and the chef visited our table to suggest a second course, which was a nice perk. I have to admit dessert was a bit of a let down, but not for flavor or quality… I just really wanted some more gelato before leaving Italy and too full to eat it! A perfect romantic meal for our last night in Rome.

To close out our stay in Rome, we had a great meal at Sciue Sciue. Our airbnb was just down the street, and our host recommended it. Definitely stop in at lunchtime to book a table for dinner — they were nearly full-up when we arrived at time, with plenty of locals as well as a few tourists. We had a wonderful caprese salad to begin — just not nearly enough basil, although the tomatoes were fresh and spicy and the cheese was tangy in a way that grocery store mozzarella is not. We were very impressed with their homemade pasta, and the way that they perfectly cooked the tuna steak for our secondi. We couldn’t fault them on a thing, including the romantic, candlelit ambiance and the friendly service. A neighborhood gem that you must visit if you’re in Monti.

We were happily surprised to have such a nice meal! We didn’t book ahead but managed to get a late seating on a Saturday night. The service was a little bit slow as we had to ask for drinks a few times, but the food was excellent and it was a great atmosphere.

This is one of those classic Rome restaurants that you have to just get lucky and stumble across… and thankfully we did. From the outside it just looks like just another place, but once you’re inside you can pick up on the cool vibe immediately. Sadly my stomach wasn’t cooperating on this part of our trip, so I had to sit this meal out. Immediately I regretted doing so, however, after checking out the people eating to our left, as they had this fantastic looking plate of fresh cut pineapple that I would’ve killed for had I been hungry given the 90 degree heat. Food envy at its finest! Soon after my girlfriend ordered spaghetti with marinara and fresh cherry tomatoes, and confirmed my belief that the food here is high-level. The service also, was excellent, as our server was extremely attentive and sensitive to the fact that we had to catch a train to Florence shortly. He even gave us two plates to share the spaghetti without us asking, which subsequently caused my food envy to reach maximum levels, as I now had a plate of delicious food in front of me with no means at all of eating it(wine hangovers are the worst). However, even that couldn’t inhibit my ability to see that we’d struck gold with this place. The kick-back setting and fantastic ambiance makes it a great place to stop by for lunch — safely away from the hustle and bustle of the metro and the Colosseum especially. «When in Rome», all Americans want to eat like the locals do, and if you’re lucky enough to stop by here, you can too.

Location: Again, in my home away from home neighbourhood, Monti. It’s one level down from my original first love, Fatamorgana. So you would come down Via Zinagli from Via del Boschetto, and right before you reach Fatamorgana, you’ll see a short ‘hill’ on your right. Sciué Scuié is right at the bottom. Service: Pretty good. My general takeaway with Rome restaurants has been that owners/wait staff love the locals and only tolerate the tourists — unless you’re somewhere super touristy like Piazza Navona etc. If you endeavour to speak to staff in Italian, they may warm up to you. Over here, the staff spoke English well and while not overly friendly, were still very nice. Food: This is serious quality, my friends. My disappointment in the fact that they are closed on Sundays(my last day in Rome) is unfathomable. I am REALLY disappointed! So, on to the food; as a starter, I had the grilled zucchini rolls with shrimp, arugula, mint and cherry tomatoes. This dish was both light and delicious — very, very good! You could order this along with one or two other appetizers and make a meal out of these. From what I saw at other tables, you can’t go wrong with any dish that you order. My main was fresh fettuccine with pumpkin, bacon and cherry tomatoes. Not only has this dish replaced gelato at Fatamorgana as my first love, but it is hands down the best meal I’ve had in Rome. The pasta was perfect. The bacon was thinly sliced, salty perfection. Everything else just contributed in a big way, to both the taste and quality of this dish. All ingredients were fresh. Did I mention how upset I am that they’re closed on Sundays?! For dessert, I had an Italian cheesecake. This is nothing like the crap you eat in North America! It looks like pie(it’s got the crust and everything) but is about 100 times lighter(made with ricotta). The texture is different as well — it sort of reminds me of a bread, but a light and airy version. In any case, it’s fabulous and you should try it. Price point: Very reasonable. High quality, delicious food outside the tourist area — you’ll find a cool setting, amazing music and a bloody good vibe. For 1L of water, a glass of wine, appy, main, dessert and cappuccino, it cost me 32 €. GO!

Really enjoyed our meal here. They have inventive recipes that are well executed. Service was great and prices reasonable. I had the fish with figs, a combination of flavors new to me but very good. So happy to finally find a place that does not have pizza and pasta. This is not a tourist trap!

Wonderful staff. Great food. My boyfriend and I came to Rome armed with a long list of restaurants given to us by a friend who is a chef. We now have a new place for him to add to his list. We have eaten here four times, and have already reserved a table for our last night in Rome.
