Hotel Palazzo Giovanelli

The hotel had an extremely courteous staff and were welcoming upon arrival, even being kind enough to let us check in early since we came to Venice in the morning from Florence. Our room had a great view exactly as described, with a picturesque view of the Grand Canal and great walking distance to everything. The room was extremely clean and upscale and worth every penny. We had a great experience from check-​in to check-​out and would recommend it as a must-​stay in Venice.

Das Vier-​Sterne-​Haus liegt unmittelbar am Canale Grande, wobei man von dieser Tatsache eigentlich nur etwas hat, wenn man das Glück hat, in einem der Zimmer oder Suiten nach vorne raus, mit Blick auf Venedigs grösste Wasserstraße.
Das Haus ist sehr modern ausgestattet und die Zimmer sind klasse, wobei wir sicherlich eines der weniger guten Zimmer im EG hatten, direkt hinter der Rezeption.
Das Personal ist nicht gerade überschwänglich freundlich, jedoch mit professioneller Distanz.
Das Frühstücksbüffet ist kategorieentsprechend.
Einzig fand ich unmöglich, was letztlich den fünften Bewertungsstern gekostet hat, ist der Fakt, daß man trotz teuren Zimmerpreisen noch für diverse «Extras» zur Kasse gebeten wird, die m.E. in dieser Hotelkategorie als Service im Preis enthalten sein sollte:
1.) deutsches Fernsehen
2.) Wifi-​Zugang, der mit happigen € 10 zu Buche schlägt und auch nur an der Rezeption empfangbar ist: No Go!

I just happened to find the Hotel Palazzo Giovanelli online when I was searching for Hotels for a last minute trip to Venice while visiting Italy. The photos were amazing and the style, décor and location of the Hotel was just what I was looking for. In person it does not disappoint. This was the perfect stay in Venice, great location on the Grand Canal and an easy walk to shopping, restaurants and St Marc’s Square and it’s taxi boat ride to the train station. The Gentlemen at the front desk were always friendly and helpful and spoke multiple languages. The breakfast was very good. All for under 200 Euro! I would definitely stay at the Hotel Palazzo Giovanelli again.
