After being rejected not once, but twice!, by the Imperial Palace(1. closed early and 2. closed for winter break), we were lucky to stumble upon Wadakura Fountain Park on our way to Tokyo Station. At least this park is open 24 hours! Originally constructed to commemorate the royal wedding of the Emperor and Empress in 1961, it was later reconstructed in 1995 to also celebrate the royal wedding of the Crown Prince and Princess. With the«continuity and new development» theme, there are a few fountains and a water fall. The architecture and design of the restaurant and fountains were all so beautiful! It was a small park, but it was definitely a nice place to visit if you pass by it. It’s not a park I would go out of the way to see, but it definitely is nice to check out when you walk between Tokyo Station and the Imperial Palace!

I might have been denied by he Imperial Palace but the benefit of walking back to Tokyo station was passing the Palace Hotel and this awesome park. It was windy but the layout, architecture and cool features in it’s minimalist way made for stopping. We ran around the perimeter, ran towards the fountain and had fun with some of the local kids. If you get shutout of the gardens, head on in here and kick it for a while
